Chapter 13

Kade POV

Machine and I limped out of Domino’s gym with me sporting a few bruises and Machine with a bruised tailbone.

“Fuck man, I think Badger broke my ass bone.” He rubbed his lower back, trying to ease the pain.

I couldn’t hold back my laugh. “Quit your bitchin’, you did this to yourself by antagonizing her.” I clapped a hand on his shoulder. “Maybe you will think before you speak next time.”

Machine groaned as he got into the driver’s side of his Durango while I got into the passenger side.

My sleep consisted of dreams of Evelyn in various positions, similar to the ones we did at the defense class. However with less clothes, less talking, and more moans.

As much as I tried to stay focused on my intercepted artillery, my mind seemed to wander back to Evelyn’s panicked face when I had my hands on her throat. I was grateful that she was able to work through her panic with me. It was an olive branch I didn’t deserve after the way I treated her in the office.
