A Promise They Kept

The sun was rising at the horizon, slowly illuminating the world which slept. A large mansion overlooking the sea was located on top of the hill. It was surrounded by vast greenery and an electrical fence encircled it. Stretching across several acres, the mansion gloriously stood at its spot like the palace of a king. Its white walls shone under the dim rays of the rising sun and an impressive European style architecture made it a unique home to the ones living inside it.

But for the boy living in the mansion, it was merely a brick and mortar building. For him, his home lay elsewhere and he was going to visit it at that very moment.

He did not sleep all night but was thinking of the promise he made to her. Was she going to come? What if she did not come?

The boy thrashed all
