Thank you all for reading Panic room. I apologize for the slow updates. I had some personal family health issues we have been dealing with. But we are finally getting back on track, so that means my chapter schedule should be returning to normal too. With that being said, I am going on holiday, so this will be my last upload until January 3rd, 2023. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, and I will see you all in the new year! New chapters will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Chapter 16 - GamesLilith Winston let out a roar of anger; the chair he occupied now flipped over as he charged at me. The promise of my death filled his eyes. The hazel colour of his irises was now replaced with a black so deep it looked almost as if they could pull me in like a black hole. His hand wrapped around my throat before anyone else had enough time to react. I grunted as my head slammed against the stone wall of the fireplace. Another thing I missed when entering this room from hell. My lungs burned as I tried to gasp for air, but Winston held on tight. I knew he could snap my neck with the slightest flex of his fingers, but he wasn't going to. No, that would be too easy of a death, for the woman poisoned him and then ripped out his heart and fed it to the beasts of the underworld. He wanted to watch me struggle to breathe. He wanted to watch the panic fill my eyes as the realization that I was going to die set in. He wanted to watch the light fade from my eyes as I slow
Chapter 17 - WickedLucifer "What now?" Gideon asked, the others all staring at the chair Lilith had been sitting in just seconds ago before I sent her into the pits. The snakes wouldn't attack her unless I said so, the serpents being one of the more loyal pets I owned next to the bloodhounds. But that didn't mean they wouldn't torment her and make her fear for her life in more ways than one. I could feel the eyes of my brothers burning into me as they waited for an answer. Most of them wanted her dead, but a couple, like Emmett and Samuel, wanted to keep her around to see what would happen. For Samuel, there was an obvious reason why he wanted to keep her alive and let her live freely in our world. He had always been Lilith's favourite. She gave him the swiftest and kindest deaths out of us all. And I knew without a doubt that if she could have kept him around, she would have. Which was funny, considering that Samuel always claimed he couldn't stand her and wanted nothing to do
Chapter 18 - AddictionEmmett Life for anyone, especially for a prince of hell, has a way of really fucking you when it starts to get good. Coming in to ruin everything just when you finally get your shit together and have proven to everyone who the top dog in charge is.Okay, maybe I wasn't exactly the top dog per se, but I was close to it until karma walked in like a fucking hurricane and took the chance away from me, and that hurricane just happened to be named Lilith. All those centuries ago, I thought she was a blessing. Little did I know she was a curse in disguise, a curse I would later find myself addicted to. She and I connected, hitting it off instantly, or so I thought. We even devised a plan to help me claim the top spot with her by my side. Unfortunately, the Envy I had for my brother and his power, blinded me, and I didn't see Lilith for the snake that she was until she stood over me with a cunning smile on her lips and a bloodied knife in her hand after she had just cu
Chapter 19 - MonstersLilithI was on edge; my nerves shot; my body was still numb from the adrenaline, despite all the cuts and bruises I now wore like some sick trophy for Lucifer and everyone else to see. I knew without a doubt that Lucifer would make my time here miserable before my ultimate demise. However, I was sure I would get much relief when I died. Not when I knew my soul would be bound to this god-awful place for all of eternity. I squeezed my eyes tightly together as I tried to push back the fear of the unknown. Long gone was the blood and the smell of mould and damp earth. But when I closed my eyes, I could see the haunting yellow eyes staring back at me and the sharp fangs of the snakes before they lunged at me, wanting to taste the blood of the snack their beloved owner had just gifted them. Lucky for me, a set of said fangs saved me from being worse off than I was.How I got them in the first place, I couldn't tell you; it was like I blacked out my fight or flight k
Chapter 20 - Angle Lilith"Rise and shine," Emmett whispered in my ear. His velvety voice pulling me out of my dreamless sleep. One I was thankful for, my heavy lids slowly peeled open. The pit of my stomach churning as the dread of what today might bring settled in. The mouth-watering smell of bacon and eggs filled my nose, and my empty stomach growled in response. I stared at the tray of crispy bacon, perfect dippy eggs, toast, and a small glass of orange juice. My brows pinching together in confusion. "You didn't think I was going to make you starve, did you?" Emmett teased, the corner of his lip twitching. The memory of last night's kiss flashed through my mind, forever branded there for the rest of my life, even if I didn't want it to be. My cheeks flush at the thought, forcing me to direct my attention elsewhere. The guy was a prince of hell and wanted me dead. I had no right to fawn after someone like him. No matter how devilishly handsome he was. "How do I know you didn'
Chapter 21- ActEmmettIt had already been two weeks since Lilith first entered my home. Our time for planning was running out. We had gone over the plan of what needed to be done countless times. What Lilith was looking for from each house and what to do once she found it. When we had a concrete plan, one we went over each night to ensure we were still on the same page. During the day, I left her to her own devices—letting her roam my house at free will, anything to keep her away from me and the distracting thoughts that constantly plagued my brain when she was around. The only time we ever spent time together was at breakfast and dinner. Never indulging in another kiss after the first two I had stolen from her. Yet, I swore that sometimes I could still taste her on my tongue and feel the ghost of her lips against mine. It was becoming a problem all on its own, and I didn't want to jeopardize my plan because of old feelings. I couldn't wait to have her out of my house and out of m
Chapter 22 - LustLilith "Well, isn't this just cozy," Lucifer mused, appearing out of thin air in the corner of my room. I yelped in surprise, throwing my book from the bed. My heart was pounding so hard against my chest I swore it was going to burst. One could only wish."My god, you scared me half to death." Lucifer leaned against the wall, his crimson gaze burning into my flesh as he watched me. "What a shame. I guess you're trapped with us for a little longer. Though I suppose there isn't much torment here, seeing as Emmett has chosen to treat as a guest instead of a prisoner." Lucifer adjusted the cuffs of his jacket before stuffing his hands in his pants pockets. I hated how deliciously handsome Lucifer was; all of the princes were incredibly hot in their own ways. From the way, they held themselves in a room full of people. To the way, they dressed and groomed. Consistently crisp, clean, and calculated.Though I hadn't had a chance to be alone with the others and didn't lo
Chapter 23 - Missing PiecesLilith "Wake up," A snake-like voice whispered in my ear. When had I fallen asleep? The last thing I remembered was Lucifer leaving me paralyzed in my bed, ruining my plans of snooping through Emmett's house while he was gone. It was phase one of my project. To use Emmett's deal against him. Whatever he wanted to do, I was going to do it first so I could save myself and get the hell out of here and far, far, far away from Teivel and the Princes of hell. But to enact said plan, I needed to find whatever object he kept hidden too. Of course, I had no idea what I was looking for, but I felt I would know what it was once I saw it. "My queen, open your eyes. We don't have much time." I opened my eyes, coming face to face with a giant black snake, its tongue slithering out as it loomed over me, its onyx body wrapped around the bedpost. My body was no longer paralyzed as I quickly sat up, moving to the furthest corner of the bed, as far away from the deadly s
