EMILIA POV

“A green light?” I asked, reaching through my memories and trying to figure out if I could recall that moment or anything remotely green, other than the leaves, on that night. I got nothing. “I don’t remember such.”

“Of course you don’t. Didn’t Katarina just say your memory is not the best thing you have in store right now?” Seth scoffed pitifully.

“And you’re sure that your words are true? You’re absolutely sure that you saw a green light emanating from her on the night that your brother died?” Katarina asked Seth, and I saw him roll his eyes at her question.

“Why do you think I kept insisting for years that she killed my brother? Look at her right now!” He gestured at me. “Do you really think she would be able to kill a person who’s much stronger than she is now? Keep in mind that we’re talking about a much younger version of herself right now. How does it make you feel now? Wouldn’t you accuse her of killing him as well?”

There was silence as Katarina’s mind went to work
