Olivia’s eyes widened slightly at the realisation that he’d kissed her, and when Edward pulled away, she slapped him before she could stop herself. “Why the hell did you do that?” She had managed to accommodate his excuse for breaking into her house but how could he kiss her?
Edward stared at her, stunned. The place she’d struck was a little reddened, the shade several colors darker than his pale skin, and he remained quiet. What had gotten into him? Since he was in her apartment, he had tried to control himself. To stop the wolf bond from influencing him but it had been hard.He didn't know Olivia would have this kind of effect on him. He wanted to hold her, kiss her and mark her the instant he took in her scent. But how could he do that when she was easily upset that he kissed her?Olivia could feel the anger and hurt building up in her chest, threatening to explode any minute now. She struggled to rein her emotions in, nails digging into the heel of her palm, drawing blood.“Please, leave.” She’d even had the courtesy to plead with him when everything in her wanted to rain curses on him. Olivia hated the fact that if they’d stayed like that a minute longer, she’d have given in, smashing her lips against his, and kissing him hungrily. She wasn’t this weak but there was something about Edward that made her strength pale in comparison to his.She wasn't just angry that he kissed her. She was upset that she had no control over herself because of him.“I won’t take such disrespect,” he said quietly and Olivia strained her ears to hear him. She scoffed in disbelief, folding her arms. Olivia saw his gaze flash downward before it was back up again, and she inwardly told herself to keep her cool.“What disrespect are you talking about?” She cocked her head, eyeing him with barely concealed disdain. "I believe I should be talking about disrespect and every manner of violation?"“You know it.” He lifted a brow and for a moment, he looked fierce like a mountain lion preparing for attack on its prey. Olivia was growing more and more uneasy the longer she stayed with him.“If you’re talking about the slap, I’m not going to apologize for it. You were wrong.” The kiss. She instantly felt his lips on hers as she spoke. She tried not to think about how good he tasted and the way she couldn't stop him. His mouth had smoothly worked around hers, as if on their own accord, setting her body ablaze with a fire that was both strong and unyielding. She snapped out of her thoughts, her chin slightly reddened from the thoughts.“How am I wrong, Olivia? You're mine and I can do whatever I want with you." Edward was used to getting everything he wanted and in the way he wanted."I'm not yours. I have never been yours and I will never be yours." She voiced. “You have to leave. I want to go to bed. Get out of my apartment.”Edward cocked an eyebrow. No one had ever spoken to him that way. No one except his human mate.“Only if you’ll drop the case.”Olivia nearly barfed, staring at him incredulously. “What’s your problem? And why are you so obsessed with my parents’ case?”He moved towards her and Olivia took steps backward. “Don’t come any closer. Or, I’ll get you arrested and thrown in jail.”That threat didn’t seem to bother him, but he stopped, and Olivia heaved a sigh of relief. She’d never met someone that both excited and overwhelmed her at the same time. Edward turned, and began making his way through the sitting room to leave, but at the door, he paused as if he’d forgotten something. Olivia’s heart was beating wildly and she prayed he wouldn’t do anything stupid.“You’ll be forced to do everything I ask. You’re mine and you can’t keep pushing me away. I'll be back and when I do, you're coming with me.” he said with an air of authority, suggesting he was a man used to giving orders and Olivia’s face turned pale, as if in fear. Before she could ask what he meant, he was gone, the loud slam of the door shaking the apartment. Olivia released the breath she didn’t know she’d been holding, and she checked to make sure he was really gone before quickly heading to where her laptop was on the coffee table.Grabbing it, she carried it with her to the cushioned sofa, fingers flying across the black keys as she typed in the passcode. Immediately the screen came up, she headed straight to her search list, entering his name into the city’s database.Edward.. Edward what? Olivia had forgotten to ask his surname. She put in his ordinary name, holding her breath as she waited for the results to pop up. After five minutes, nothing came up.There were three dots on the screen, showing that it was still processing but it was taking too long. Finally, a list of everyone with the name Edward popped up. But she couldn't identify him amongst them. She spent the next thirty minutes trying to find his details in the database but couldn't. There was no trace of him at all. No record of his birth or existence. Fear, real fear gripped Olivia.Who exactly had visited her and why was he a ghost? Was he possibly honest about being a werewolf? What kind of creatures existed in her city? She didn't have any answers to the questions swarming her mind. But she was sure of one thing. She had another mystery to solve and she needed to do it fast.Whatever or whoever Edward was, he had a connection to her parent's murder. He knew something she didn't and she would have to use that to her advantage. She needed to know everything about him before his next visit because he didn't sound like he was joking about taking her."You're mine," His words replayed in her head over and over again. Was she really his mate? And why would he reveal himself to her now?Olivia dialed Jake’s number at once, she could not wait to relate to someone about all that had happened to her.“Something strange happened to me,” she voiced out the moment he picked the call.Jake let out a breath before he spoke up. “Go on.”She immediately explained her experience with Edward to him. She told him everything that transpired between herself and the werewolf, except for the kiss. After detailing the event to him, all Jake could do was laugh.“What’s funny?” She asked in an annoyed tone.“Your story of course. Werewolves only exists in movies, you are just overthinking things.”“You can choose to doubt me all you want but I think there's more to this than just some crazy guy claiming to be a werewolf."Jake raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" he asked.Olivia took a deep breath. "I think this has something to do with my parents' murder," she said. “I did some research and all the clues are leading me to some big werewolf house."Jake shook his head. "Olivia, you n
“I’m sorry but I have other things to attend to,” she answered, not caring to see the hurt in his eyes after she had declined his request.“When next do you wish to see me?” He asked her, hoping for a positive reply.“Tonight,” she gave a fast reply and to his shock.“Tonight?” He repeated and in total disbelief.“Was she starting to feel this comfortable with him?”“Only on one condition,” she added, making him curious.“And what may that condition be?”“You will have to introduce me to the rest of the family,” she answered.“Alright, I will. Be here by 9, I’ll be waiting for you by the entrance,” he said with a bright smile. She nodded with a straight face and walked away just immediately after his reply.Olivia got home, she checked her phone and saw the different calls she had gotten from her colleagues. She thought of revealing all that had happened to them but ended up deciding to handle it all on her own.By six, she prepared herself and left, heading to the pack house. Edward
Olivia felt a chill run down her spine as Edward's voice grew louder and more menacing. She knew that he was angry, and she didn't want Marcus to be caught in the middle of their argument."Marcus, I think it's best if you go now, it’s getting late," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.Marcus looked at her, concern etched on his face. "Are you sure? Don’t you need me to stay?"Olivia shook her head. "No, it's okay. I'll be fine. I just need to have some work to do and I need to be alone for that."“Is that really the problem? You seem very nervous,” Marcus asked.“No, I am fine. No need to worry,” she assured him.Marcus hesitated for a moment, but then he nodded. "Okay. Just be careful, okay?"Olivia smiled. "I will. Thank you."As Marcus left, Olivia turned to face Edward. She could see the anger in his eyes, and she knew that she was in trouble."What do you want?" she asked, trying to keep her voice calm.Edward took a step towards her, his eyes blazing with fury. “Why did
Olivia was jolted awake by the sudden noise that echoed through the house. She sat up in bed, her heart racing as she tried to identify the source of the disturbance. Was it a burglar? A storm? She strained her ears, listening for any other sounds, but the house was silent. She slipped out of bed and tiptoed to the door, peering out into the hallway. Everything seemed normal, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She crept down the hall, her bare feet making no sound on the hardwood floor. As she approached the guest room, she noticed that the door was slightly ajar. She pushed it open and stepped inside, her eyes scanning the room for any signs of danger but the room was empty.Panic began to rise in her chest as she realized that Edward was not inside the room. She called out his name in a hushed voice, hoping that he was nearby and would hear her but there was no response. On the other hand, Edward felt a strange sensation in his mind, as if someone was reachin
Chapter 9“I never agreed to be your mate!” She wanted to scream but all she could do was voice it in her head.“Do not even think of it,” she immediately heard his voice in her head. “Remember we made a deal,” he added. She immediately turned and gave him a deep frown. His mom didn’t fail to notice the tension between them, she widened her eyes in happiness. "Your mate? That's wonderful news! Come, let's sit down and talk."As they sat and chatted, Olivia couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. She was surrounded by wolves.“So tell me, when do the two of you intend to mate each other?”“We do..”“Soon mother,” Edward immediately replied, cutting Olivia short and pressing onto Olivia’s hand.“Let go of me,” Olivia interrupted, pulling her hand away from Edward's grasp.Edward's mom looked at Olivia with surprise. "Oh, I'm sorry. Edward didn't mention that you hadn't accepted the bond yet." She was quick to understand that she wasn’t comfortable with the discussion."It's fine,"
Chapter 10Olivia knew she had to take her eyes away from his naked and tempting body, she was supposed to be asking him questions about why he had done that but with this naked man in front of her, she couldn't find her tongue. She wanted to say something but she was short of words. "Olivia," he called out her name in a hoarse voice.“Yes,” she answered, finally managing to say something. Edward knew he could not let her ask him any questions, so he decided to do something that would leave her speechless. The action he took next made Olivia nearly lose her breathing, it made her blood hammer and her chest beat faster. He rushed to her and gave her a very tight hug. He knew fully well that he was completely naked and this act of his would seize her breath away. "I'm sorry for letting you see that other scary part of me," he said in a soft fake tone. "I just could not stop myself from having a taste of flesh meat, believe me I sincerely tried very hard to stop myself but I just cou
Edward had been away from his pack for two days, and he was finally returning home. As he approached the pack's territory, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement mixed with anxiety. He missed his pack, but he also knew that his reason for not always being around was a positive one. He needed to get what he needed from his mate and by all cost.As he entered the pack's territory, he saw a feminine figure which looked very familiar.“Emelda,” he muttered, not so sure if he was right. He moved closer and found out that he was right. In fact she was waiting for him. Edward walked nervously towards the clearing where she was. He had missed her terribly and couldn't wait to see her again but this was never the plan. As he approached the clearing, he saw her sitting on a log, her long hair blowing in the wind. She looked up and saw him, and a huge smile spread across her face.He was surprised to see her there since he had asked her to stay away from the pack for the next two years
Days had passed since Olivia left. She chose to go away from Edward for sometime, in order to be at peace.**Olivia stood at a safe distance from the old, dilapidated house nestled deep within the dense forest. The moon's pale glow cast an eerie aura over the surroundings, adding an extra layer of mystique to the scene. She watched as a group of individuals entered the house, their figures shrouded in darkness. Intrigued by their presence, Olivia's curiosity got the better of her. Who were these people? What brought them to such a remote and ominous place? As she observed them, Olivia couldn't help but notice their distinct features and peculiar behavior. One man, tall and muscular, had a rugged appearance with unkempt hair cascading down his broad shoulders. His piercing eyes seemed to penetrate the night, filled with a sense of primal intensity. Another woman had an air of grace about her, her movements smooth and deliberate. Her eyes held a hint of wildness, as if she had a connec
