Giselle didn’t move or budge from where she stood, her eyes stayed trained on the figure stepping out of the elevator.

Life had a funny way of rubbing her failures right in her face.

Ethan had been adjusting his suit when he stepped at, flinching back as he saw Giselle standing in front.

“Giselle-”

Ethan begun but Giselle interrupted him, glaring at him in the deadliest way she possibly could.

“Why are you here?”

Ethan cleared his throat and squared his shoulders. He was well aware of the chances of running into Giselle at Dano’s accounting firm, after all, he knew she had worked there for two years. But after hearing a new CEO was going to be inaugurated and he being in desperate need of huge support for his new project, Ethan decided to go.

“I have business to take care of here.”

Giselle scrunched up her face in disbelief.
