Chapter 17: Moving On

Achilles’ Point of View

I looked over at Camila who entered my cabin. She had a sad smile on her face. I stood up as she hugged me.

"I heard about your father. It's so sad, to lose your mother again…"

"Nah," I pulled back and said with a smile, "I didn't lose her. We're good. Even better if that makes sense to you."

"That's good!" She grinned. "I was thinking, do you wanna go to the bar later?"

"Sure," I said as I looked at my wrist watch. "I just have to complete some of my work. At 7?"

"Sure. I'll just be down at the reception."

I nodded and she left. I exhaled.

It has been three days since mom left. I missed Isabella—a lot more than I thought I would.

I engrossed myself in work again. I came back to the headquarters in Kansas the same day because I knew than an empty mind was home to imperviously stupid thoughts.

Isabella's Point of View
