CHAPTER 7

Aria stirred in her sleep, her dreams slowly dissipating as she entered the realm of wakefulness. She blinked her eyes open, adjusting to the dimly lit room. Something felt off. She glanced at the clock on her bedside table and realized it was still the middle of the night.

Her eyes widened in shock and she almost yelled when she saw the boy standing by her bed.

"Holy sh— ” she exclaimed. "Hey, why are you up?"

"You're my new babysitter aren't you?" The boy said.

"Yes," Aria smiled warmly. "Yes, I am. My name is Aria, what's your name?"

"Daniel," he answered indifferently. "You're pretty."

Aria smiled. "Why thank you, Dani. I appreciate that."

"Okay," Daniel shrugged. "I want to watch the TV."

"Dani," Aria sighed, her voice still laced with drowsiness. "What time is it?"

Daniel didn't look like he was interested in answering the question and he wasn't going to forget about the TV either. He bounced on his feet with excitement. "I can't sleep, Aria! I want to watch the TV… please?"
