Dallas' POV

I returned home after the meeting, leaving my other work behind to rest faster. Summer seemed excited by my decision and thanked me several times, but I just smiled because I found it funny and left her on the phone.

I was still thinking about Arabella on the way home, as well as Sean's phone call that ended just like that. When I was about to call him again, the man's phone was off, which gave me the urge to call Arabella.

"No, don't call Bella," I muttered a few times and ended up ignoring my phone completely, relying only on Summer during the meeting and focusing entirely on my work.

Now, I sank onto the sofa, staring at the house's ceiling, which seemed higher than usual. I didn't expect that the place I originally lived in with Arabella would feel even bigger and emptier once that girl left. There was no welcome when I came home, nor was there the smell of home cooking that Arabella always tried to make for me.
