Chapter 46

Isobel

I slowly opened my eyes, the world a dizzying blur. My vision hadn't fully recovered yet. Groggily, I tried to scan the place, squinting against the darkness. A dim light in the distance caught my attention.

"Agh... Where am I?"

Attempting to get up was a struggle. My head was pounding. Clutching my aching head, I gathered the strength to stand. After a few attempts, I finally managed to rise. I scanned the surroundings again, becoming more aware of my predicament.

"What is this place?"

The dim light became my guide as I continued to explore. The abandoned warehouse revealed itself with each step. The silence was deafening, broken only by the rhythmic sound of water dripping within the room.

"Hello? Anybody?"

No response. I raised my voice, desperately hoping for a reply.

"Somebody... Please help."

Silence persisted, and a sinking feeling set in. I heightened my senses, straining to hear any signs of life, but the only sounds were the dripping water and my own breath. Panic cre
