Chapter Fifteen

"Oooookay. Do you realize that I am just learning about everything TODAY! I have to say that I feel like I have been thrown into some sort of alternate universe or I'm in some messed up dream. A dream of which I would like to just wake up from."

She looks at me with tears in her eyes. "I am sorry, Brenna."

That's when I kind of snap. Jumping up and fisting my hands. "You know I really wish people would stop looking at me like that and saying 'sorry'... Does anyone realize that's the last memory I have of my mother!?! That's the last thing she said to me before she was murdered right in front of me! This whole thing is ridiculous and I hate it!!"

She looked away and I'm glad she did. Gave me a chance to wipe at my tear streaked cheeks. 

"I knew Marissa and Nathan, Brenna. I even met you when you were little. It's much too long ago for you to remember, but we have met before. In another time I suppose you could say. Nothing seems the same anymore."
