Alpha Rick's POV

I paced back and forth in my room as my mind restless and uneasy. I couldn't shake off the feeling of something being off, something I couldn't put my finger on. I missed having Melina within my reach, her presence soothed me like no other – it was strange but that was how I felt.

I missed taunting her and enjoyed seeing her in pain. It was a strange pleasure that I derived from watching her squirm under my gaze. But now, as I thought of her not being around, I couldn't help but feel a sense of loss. I tried to ignore it, but the feeling persisted, nagging at me and refusing to let go.

My mind wandered back to the last time I had seen Melina – she was trying to run away from me, from the pack environs. I was happy when I found her but the stubborn bitch continued to run until she fell into the river. Now I wasn't so sure if she was alive or dead and it made me feel uneasy
