Chapter Four

Henry.

I walked into the room after contemplating on what to say to her, my steps halted when I saw the miserable position she was in.

She was my wife, after all, so I really get the pleasure of seeing something as delicate as her suffer?

Yes.

That was the answer to my question, Gwen deserves everything happening to her and maybe even more. If she hasn’t been such a cunning biitch who only wanted me to herself, then she wouldn’t be in this position today. She wouldn’t be here sitting with her hand on her head and crying softly if she didn’t make that drastic decision years back. And I wouldn’t be here trying to haul more insult at her for trying to be herself.

“You walked out on me, Gwen?” I asked. My hands were clenched by my side.

Slowly, she raised her head up and stare at me with tears in her eyes. Trust Gwen never to hold a grudge, regardless of what you’ve done to her, she wouldn’t hold it against you. Instead, she’ll be looking at you like she was a god who doesn’t sin and that always makes me mad. Why would she act like that when she was the most corrupted soul in the world? She was the sinner here, not me.

“What else do you want me to say Henry?” She asked, then wiped her tears off.

“You have to apologize, Gwen.” Her head snapped up immediately, her eyes widened in disbelief.

“What?” She asked.

“You heard me Gwen, you have to apologize for your rude behavior earlier. I won’t seat back and let you disrespect me and my sister like that ever.”

She opened her mouth to speak but shut it again, Gwen closed her eyes and then opened them. When she looked at me I saw that same fire from years ago burning in her eyes.

“I won’t apologize for something I didn’t do wrong, Henry,” she countered.

I sighed and ruffled my hair, since I didn’t come here for this, I decided to let it go.

“I won’t dea-l with this now, but when we are back, go get dressed we are going out.” I stated and turned to leave, but her question stopped me.

I didn’t want to turn but there was just something in Gwen’s voice that pulled me closer to her.

“W…where are we going?” She stuttered, and even without looking at her, I knew that she was surprised.

Holding the door knob, I glance at her then said, “don’t ask any questions Gwen, just do as you are told. Get dressed and come downstairs in twenty minuts.”

On my way to my room, I met little Jasmine coming out from her room. From her unkempt look and wet hair, I could tell that she was unsuccessful in giving herself a bath.

“Daddy!” Her face lit up as she sees me.

“I couldn’t take a shower by myself.” I smiled, holding back my laugh.

“Alright come on, daddy is going to help you with that.”

“Really daddy?” She asked, and I noticed a flitting look of disbelief in her eyes. My smile dropped a little, I know I haven’t been there for her, but it’s hurts if your daughter or son doesn’t trust you completely.

“Yes Jas, come on now we don’t have enough time.” We walked back to her room and I looked around her Disney princess styled room, which was always clean courtesy of Gwen.

I took Jasmine to the bathroom and turned the tap on the bath tub on, I made sure it was warm before taking her dress off and dipping her in it.

…….

Okay, I take my words back.

Bathing a little child, especially this daughter of mine isn’t easy at all. I wonder how Gwen does this every time.

“Daddy, don’t do it like that.” She complained, and I took my hand from that place.

“Why?”

“Because mummy doesn’t do it this way.” She pouted.

“Alright My Princess.” I teased and tickle her belly. She squirmed and giggled.

We were done with her bath and I brought her out wrapped nicely in a pink towel, I dropped her on her bed.

“What will you like to wear princess?” I asked going through her tons of clothes in her wardrobe.

Her room door opened before she could answer, and quickly Jasmine was down from the bed and rushing to her mother’s side.

“Mummy!” She squealed, hugging her legs.

“Hey there, little munchkin, how are you doing this morning?” She asked, picking her up.

“I’m fine, mummy. Daddy gave me a bath.” She reported pointing at me.

“Oh really?” Gwen looked at me but quickly took her eyes off.

“That’s nice.” That was all she said.

“I would like to wear the same dress as mummy.” Jasmine requested.

“Okay, Your dressing is coming right up.” I gave a dramatic bow, earning a laugh from her.

While picking her dress I glanced at the both of them occasionally, they both looked so cute together, and I sometimes wonder if I do fit in their picture.

they must focus with their daughter than with their feelings

It seems to me that there are two different versions about their marriage. If what he says is true(?) it's clear that this marriage didn't start in the right way. At the same time she says that she married her first love and sweetheart and things were good in the first year. I found this confusing

She’s the most dumbest woman to be written. No backbone, no plans of the future, totally co-dependent on a cheater. My God, these authors have no idea what else to write about but abused woman in every aspect of life.
