Krisha's POV
"Krish, can you do me a favor?" Anne, our class president approaches me.
"Sure"
"Can you please bring it to Professor Eduardo? It was our full attendance and report for this month," she said, handing me the thick papers. I just nodded and walk my way through Prof. Eduardo's office. I was about to step out when I bump into something hard.
" Tsk! Watch your way! " I lifted my head and saw the most awful demon I've ever seen, I've ever met, Zeke.
" Sorry? "I uttered sarcastically. He just looks at me and walks away without even helping me pick those papers already scattered on the ground. I huffed as I pick the papers and arranged them.
###
After giving the papers to Prof. Eduardo, I didn't take any long moments to stay. I was about to go back to the classroom when my feet suddenly turn themselves the other way and take me to the cafeteria. My stomach huffed and there I know, I was hungry. I directly went to the counter and ordered a hamburger and ate it while I'm walking my way.
As I go back to the classroom, a presumptuous Zeke welcomed me, sitting inappropriately on his seat, resting his right leg above the table while sucking the earpads on his ears. I just rolled my eyes and went to Patty and Amira.
Talking about Amira, I noticed something different about her these days. She became quiet—I mean, she's very different from before. The Amira I knew was mad at me but now, she seems so nice to me and she smiles more on me but never before. She's also important towards Zeke before but now she's different. I wanted to become friends with her.
"Hey, Amira! Hey, Pat!" They both look and smiled at me, greeted me back. "Can I sit?"
"Sure!" I pulled the vacant seat.
" What are you guys talking about?"
" It's about the bo—"Patty answered but Amira quickly cover her mouth with her palm. " It's about the boy she loves." Patty continued
" Ohh, Zeke?" I asked and Amira blushed. Spot-on! She still likes Zeke, that moron. Amira is too good for him. Zeke always ignores Amira, he's a moron, a piece of sh*t!
"Shut up, Pat," Amira shyly uttered with a bloom of slightly red on her cheeks, forming an easy smile on her lips. Patty and I both chuckled.
" By the way, tomorrow's Saturday, are you both free?" I asked, I hope they are.
" Yeah, we are!" Patty exclaimed, " Right, Amira?"
" Ye--yeah,"
" Great! Can we guys hang out tomorrow? To the amusement park!" I excitedly said and hoping they to join.
" That would be great!"
"Yeah, sure,"
Amira's POV
" Why did you agree?!"
"Because she invited us and it'll make her feel bad when we'll say no."
"I know but—"
"No buts, Amira, besides, you can't get that book anyway when that librarian is around and there's no way for her to leave the library." I heaved and lay back in bed. My guts pushed me to read that book and know every single detail about it. I decided to forget about the book and just think that it was just one of those interesting story written by the author's wide imaginations.
Tomorrow might be an exciting day. We'll go to an amusement park with Krisha, I was surprised when Krisha invited us like—I am going to spend my holiday with the fictional character I admire.
"I hope there's a lot of delicious food there," Patty uttered. I just shook my head and lock my gaze up to the ceiling. Good thing no lizards is flirting with her unlike in my room, there's always be, gross.
###
So this is what the amusement park in the book looks like? It's the same as reality's, nothing seems to be different. I took a glance at the high rides and the tents around. As I look into the carousel it makes me want to step back and run home. It was so big and the pattern looks so scary. I look at Krisha who seems to be excited riding those and Patty who also seems to feel what I've felt.
"So what should we ride first?" She asked gluing her gaze on the monster, the carousel. My adrenaline slowly bursting out.
"It's your choice," I answered.
"To the carousel!" Krisha exclaimed with mirth as she pulled us towards it. I feel like my feet are getting heavier but still managed to be dragged by her. She bought an entrance slip for us and she drags us again to the ride's entrance. She gave the slip to the man guarding in and drag us again to our seats. We all sat in a row. I and Patty are on the corner and Krisha in the center.
"I'm so excited," she uttered excitedly."Me too," Patty and I responded in chorus both with sarcasm.
The ride started and slowly rising and my soul almost separated from my body when it suddenly goes down. A scream escaped from our mouth holding the metal before us so tight. It was so fast and I feel like falling when the ride takes its way in a circle. The path and the speed make me think of my lousy but terrible death.
I quickly run into the none crowdy area the moment I got off the ride. I feel like I'm going to throw up. I feel dizzy and I wanted to lay on my bed.
"Are you okay?" Krisha asked, rubbing my back. I snorted as I place my hand over my stomach.
"I'm okay," I responded without looking at her.
"I'm sorry, I—"
"Don't be sorry, it's okay,"
"But—"
"Hush! I'm okay," I spun around and met her worried look. I smiled at her, showing her I'm okay. I'm okay. I look around and notice Patty not around.
"Where's Patty?" Her eyes widened and mouthed sh*t. She runs back to the carousel, I followed her and saw Patty sitting on a bench and seemed to be crying. We quickly run towards her.
"Pat, are you okay?" Krisha and I asked in a chorus. She looks at us and wiped her tears.
"Where have you been?" she asked
"Sorry to leave you, I fell dizzy so I run out from here."
"And I followed her," Krisha said. She folded her arms under her chest and twisting her lips, showing that she's sulky.
"You both left me, you two deserve a punishment."
###
Krisha and I both glancing at Patty who's busy sipping the ramen soup we bought from the nearby ramen stand. So this is our punishment, to buy her food. She stretched her arms and reach for the hamburger near the cookies which were near the lemon juice.
"So where are we going to go next?" Krisha asked between the silence.
"I'll pass, I'm eating," Patty answered with a full bread on her mouth. "Amira can go with you." She added. I slip my hand off to my back and twisted it and smell the other scent of trouble.
###
We were standing in front of the tent where the surroundings were designed in great horror. My eyes drop on the banner written in bold letters with blood-like designs.
ONCE ENTERED THERE'S NO TURNING BACK
I can feel the sweat on the back of my neck and a great adrenaline pumping. I look at Krisha who's staring at it with a wide grin on her face. She looks so creepy. I know what she's thinking. I was about to step back when she tugs me towards the entrance and I already was dead. Before we step in, the golden-haired lady outside explained to us the mechanics of the game. My whole body seems to be saturated with sweat and my hands are coldly shaking. As soon as we step in screams and growls can be heard which makes my nervousness grow. I look at Krisha who seems to be scared as well. I wrap my arms around Krisha's and make her walk first. A white lady suddenly jumps in our way which makes us jump in surprise ft. fear. We continued walking slowly and met another creature. A headless man walking towards us and we both scream and run. My heart was pounding so fast. The path we take was so quiet. I feel a bit relieved not until a black giant man with a cigarette in his mouth frightened us out and makes us run and enter another room. Krisha and I noticed that was taking the wrong path and when we're about to get back when the door suddenly closed in a bang. There was another bold bloody written letter on the wall.
YOU'RE LOCKED, SOLVE THE PUZZLE
I muttered sh*t on my mouth. It was already told by the lady guarding outside that we'd walk a wrong path this will be happening. The place was so confusing cause aside from that it's dark the room also seems to be a path and it was a great trip. Now, we're heading into the small dusty table with a dusty folder above. Maybe it's the mystery we're going to solve. Krisha and I both looking at each other. She breathes deeply as she slowly stretches her arms and reaches the folder, opening it in quickly. There was only a blank bond paper and when she flipped it away we both gasped in fright. There was a zoom image of a white lady smiling at us. I felt chills shivering down and I know Krisha felt the same. I shove the paper away and there was a box next to it. With open the box and saw a puzzle piece and a puzzle board inside. Krisha and I helped each other to finish the puzzle. This puzzle seems to be a letter and I don't know how the picture is involved with this.
As we almost complete the puzzle, Krisha and I look at each other as we read the unfinished sentence on it.
She's now on your...
I drop my gaze on the last piece in my hands, seeing the word BACK.
She's now on your... Back
I held Krisha's arms as did the same. I gulped as we slowly spun our heads at our back. A shrieking scream both escaped from our lips when we saw the white lady we'd seen in the picture. We quickly run around the room, still holding each other so tight. We were running around and the white lady chasing us. I know that she's just a fake one but a real human but damn! She's scary and never I wanted to be touched, caught, or be nigh to her. The room filled with our screams. There was a door suddenly opened and we both take the chance to escape. We were running so fast until we reached the end.
We were both gasping for air. My sweat is dripping rapidly and my hands were still cold. I drop my glance at the vampire stuffed toy in my hands. It was our reward for finishing and succeeding in the game. Krisha had it too.
"Hope you'll visit next time." The girl with a round eyeglass said. Visit? Again? Your face!
"Of course!" I answered, smiling from ear to ear with the opposite feeling of my heart. "It was really fun" and I almost die, damn this place!
We exited and rushed towards the ice cream stand. I ordered my favorite strawberry ice cream ordered the vanilla one. We sat on the wooden bench near the fountain. My hands were still shaking while holding the ice cream. I composed myself as I licked the top.
" That was fun!"Krisha uttered
" And I almost see my grandma welcoming me to the next life," I added and she let out a laugh. We finish our ice cream and make our way back to Patty. Krisha suddenly stopped so I am.
"Let's go there!" she exclaimed and pointed the ride with horses moving in a circle. She tugs me again towards there. Why does she always tug me today?
We are now both riding like a child in the horses. I smiled upon remembering my childhood memories on this ride. I suddenly missed my parents and my best friend, Sheena. How are they now?
"Amira, are you okay?" Krisha break my thoughts and pulled me back to the present. I just smiled and nodded as my response. We were quiet for the whole ride. We were now making our way back into Patty and I wasn't surprised at all when I saw her eating again. Both Krisha and I look at each other then chuckled.
"Are you guys done?" She said between her chews. I pulled a seat and set myself on it and Krisha did the same. My stomach suddenly huffed and ordered me to eat. We bought a pancake nearby and a bottle of mineral water for our drinks.
###
It was already 4:45 in the afternoon when we get back to our dorm.
"Thank you for spending this Saturday with me, it was such a great day," Krisha exclaimed.
"I also enjoyed it too," I responded, smiling at her.
" Amira, ca--can we be friends? "
" Aren't we? " She smiled widely and throw a hug at me.
" I wanted to be friends with you for a long time but you're angry at me," she stated between our hugs.
" Just forget it! Let bygones be bygones." she hugged me tighter. We both get back to our rooms. Patty was laying on the sofa, snoring. She must be so tired—of eating. I went to my bed and without changing my clothes, I drifted off to sleep.
###
It was Sunday and I groaned thinking that tomorrow will be another day for school but change into ease when I think of seeing Zeke again."Let's eat!" Patty shouted from the sala. My stomach growled and without a second thought, march towards the table. We were eating silence and I was also busy chewing food. It is so delicious. Never would have thought that Patty's good in this. I forked the jumbo hotdogs and eat them voraciously.
"You're not hungry right?"
"Yes, I am," I scooped into scrambled eggs. I burped as I was glutted. I take a rest for a while then grab my towel for a shower. It took me a long minute to finish my bath and take some clothes on. At first, I feel disgusted and uncomfortable wearing Amira's clothes—my clothes but when I think that it was just the same body and knew that Amira is clean it shove my feels out of my way.
What to do?
I au revoir to Patty before going out and walk my way through the coffee shop. I walk slowly and roam my eyes around the colorful houses, restaurants, buildings as I passed. I followed my gaze into the passing car until they fade. There was a jeepney pass over and ejected out some thick black smoke which happens to be near me. I coughed and snorted. I feel like my lungs are filled with those.
"Here, it's clean, I haven't used it yet." A familiar voice said handing me a brown handkerchief. My heart was drumming so loudly as I slowly lifted my sight and saw the man I admired the most, I love, Zeke. He was wearing a black leather jacket and white shirts in black loose pants. His hair was quite messed and some of it is covering his eyes.
"Wha--what am I su--supposed to do with the--this?" I stuttered.
"Eat it if you can, tsk" he rolled his eyes and I felt wonder-stricken when he reached my hands and put the handkerchief over. "Use your common sense, cover it on your nose." He stated as he walks away.
"Zeke!" I called and gladly he stopped.
"Thank you!" I yelled as he walks away. I've felt a great ecstasy about just now. Did he just talk with me? My heart was frisson with great happiness. I touched my hand. I can still felt his soft hands on mine.
Cover it on your nose
Cover it on your nose
His words were repeating into my mind and I couldn't stop myself but giggle at the very pit of my stomach. The people passing by are looking at me with their furrowed eyebrows and their judging looks. They might have thought I'm crazy. Well, maybe I am.
###
I was now enjoying my favorite cafe, favorite dessert on my favorite spot still wearing my smile. I stared at Zeke's handkerchief while waiting for my usual order to be served. I smelled it and my lungs were now filled with a strong great scent of him. My order arrived and I quickly put the handkerchief back in my pocket.
I smelled the delicious aroma of the coffee before having it. I slowly chewed and felt the sweetness of the cheesecake melting in my mouth. After finishing and pay for my food, I exited.
###
"Really?!" Patty exclaimed after telling her my victory a while ago. "So, you're happy?"
"Of course! Who wouldn't be? He's been so cold to me and never talk to me. He ignores me like he doesn't know I exist so what happened now, was an unexpected blithesome." I uttered with hopes.
" I'm happy for you, Amira. But please don't keep your hopes too high. You're not for him and especially he's not for you. You already know it, Amira. " Patty stated which locked me into silence.
"I know, Pat," I responded in a slow tuned voice. Patty smiled at me. I went to our bed and look at the handkerchief in my hands. I smiled at the thought that it was from him. I know he's not for me but was it wrong to feel what I've felt? Was it wrong to continue loving him despite the things I knew? Was it wrong for me to feel this way?
Yes, Amira, it's wrong very wrong.
Amira's POV My whole body was weakened and my shoulders felt like it was carrying a hefty load. My eyes locked on an empty seat, mind searching for his trail. Is he absent? I take a full disappointed sigh. I rise and exit from our classroom since our next subject teacher hasn't arrived yet. I was walking on my way down to the corridor and don't know where to go and just let my feet take me wherever it wants. I turn into a way through the back of the school building and went towards the wooden bench and sat on it leisurely. The scene of seeing Zeke here hearken back to my mind. My heart jumps into excitement as I saw Zeke come out from nowhere. His hair was messy and his uniform was crumpled, by how he looks, he seems to be sleeping there like last time. I run towards him. "Hi, Zeke," I greeted but he's just deadpan. I took his handkerchief out of my pocket and give it back to him. "Thank you for letting me borrow this—"
Amira's POV"Okay! Start from the beginning!" Krisha shouted. We were at the park near our dormitory, shooting for the first scene. "Zeke! Can you just please smile?""Are you commanding me?""I am not! I'm just telling you to smile. The scene should be love at first sight but you have just ruined it with your deadpan, can you please swift that attitude away until this was done?!"" Okay! Guys, Let's continue, Zeke, please do smile for me, okay. " Cassandra said as she went back to the bench and sat on it as what the script had written. Patrick was holding the camera and Patty are assisting Krisha, Luke and I were free. Krisha does the directing as she was the one who wrote the script and we all rely on that she'll gonna direct the movie well. We have stayed in the park for almost 2 hours but still, we're shooting for the first scene. I was swinging and kicking my foot on the ground, watching them bragging, especially Zeke and Krisha. Krisha had tol
Amira's POV"Zeke!" I hissed upon seeing him venturing his steps down to the corridor. He stopped walking but never bother to turn around. I run towards his front and met his cold gazes that almost make me shiv. "Umm, congratulations," I greeted but I didn't receive a response. He was just staring at me."Do you hate Cassandra?" Zeke asked out of the blue."Why did you asked?""I saw how you stare at her, it seems like she did something wrong on you and those parts of the scene, it was purposely planned by you. Tell me, why do you hate her?" My saliva seems stocked at my throat and the fast beating of my heart I've felt has vanished into a heavy one. I was so nervous."I don't hate her," I answered without stuttering which thankfully, I have controlled. He was still looking at me, to my eyes and it didn't make me feel at ease, it was like terrifying. It seems like he was scanning a crimina
Amira's POV I leisurely sat on my usual place; at the back of the school. Yeah, I was in a place whereI usually saw Zeke always on his crumpled uniform and messy hair mode. This time, I wasn't expecting for him to come out. Instead, I wish I was all by myself and I wish he's not here. I sigh, eyeing the guitar in my hand. The wind blows in the east as I nonchalantly strum. I was blankly staring ahead, Watching you, With my heart skipping it's beat, You smiled, I melt, My heart was so inlove with you And wish you feel the same way like I do And I am always dreaming, Always hoping though I can't see a chance But still my heart is longing For
Amira's POVJa--Jasper?I quickly rush out of the cafeteria but when I checked his last spot again, he was already gone. I spun my head and roam my eyes around but I still can't find him."Amira! What's wrong?" It was Patty, preceding after me." It was him, "" Who's him?""The one I have told you before, about my suitor. I saw him! " I exclaimed." You mean, he's here?"" Yep! And I saw him just now but... he's gone. "" Maybe you're just hallucinating, maybe it was just someone who looks like him, and besides, you only saw his peripheral view. " Patty said. My instinct pushes me to believe that it was him but how come? If it is him, how did he came here? Yeah, maybe I was just hallucinating. I sighed and went back inside.Forget it,After eating we stopped by the pizza house and order t
Amira's POV"Zack?" I uttered"Yep, I'm glad you still remember me," he said and sat beside me. "It's already late and I'm sure that it's already on curfew, how'd you able to get here?" He asked while looking at the stars."I climb up the wall. I was spider girl lately." I answered and we both chuckled. "How about you? Why are you here? Won't your parents be worried when you're still aren't home at this time?""Nah, they won't. They don't know, I was spiderman lately." He answered mimicking my answer. We talked about so many topics. We talk about cars, schools, etc."So where's your family?" He suddenly asked."Umm, they're on Baguio," I answered. He just nodded and we both are quite, still watching the stars above. I take a glance at him and my eyes were caught off guard by his side appearance. His hair was messy, he looked like Zeke. I look away when he suddenly looks at
Amira's POV"Woah, am I still dreaming?" Patty gasped in disbelief. She saw me pulling out Zeke's pictures from the wall which she wasn't expecting. "Is there something I don't know?""Gotta tell you later." I answered. I grab the empty box under the bed and put his pictures in.I still do love him but it doesn't make sense. I feel a dip of hatered towards him as well. I never thought I could hate the person whom I love the most. Maybe it's really is the way to wake up from this madness.I went downstairs, carrying the box where I put his pictures. I place it on a spacious area where we burn dry leaf since there was a big tree on it. I fire the corner of the box and watch it as the fire swallow it wholely.###"Start," Patty said as we went back to our dorm. She was really eager to know the reason behind my unexpected actions. I told her about it, from what Troy did to what Zeke said. She just laughed at me as if I was joking. "P
Amira's POV"Have you tried playing computer games?" Zack asked me."Nope, I don't like computer games. I only use computer in class and when I am reading.""You love reading?""Yep," I answered. Zack suddenly drag me. Why is he always dragging me. He take me to the computer shop and I saw lots of teenager busy playing games. Most of them are in our Academy. Why are they here at this time? We are not allowed to go on this place.I pulled back Zack, "What?""We are not allowed to go in places like this.""Why?""School rules," i simply answered"You can go out of the university but you can't go anywhere like here. What kind of school rules does your Academy have. ""Most of the computer shops have contacts in our school and we're dead if our nam
