Chapter Four

I woke up and started to get ready for school, now that he's pissed at me, I wonder if I should go to his house to wait for him, I guess we'll see when I leave for school.

I walked out of the house, looking over at his house. He hadn't come out, I walked to his front door and knocked, his mum came to answer the door.

"Good morning Hinata, were you waiting for Daichi? He already left." She said then closed the door.

"Is he really that angry?" I murmured. "Dumbass."

I walked to the bus stop just to miss it. I got to school a little late and had to walk past Akito and Daichi's class to get to mine and they spotted me.

I walked into my class but the teacher wasn't there yet, I walked over to my seat.

"You're late." Tadashi said, tilting his chair towards me.

"Way to state the obvious, genius." I said, taking my anger out on him.

"I could come pick you up, if you want." He offered.

"I just missed the bus."

"And now you don't need to take the bus." He smiled.

It was the first time I'd seen him smile, he didn't look like the normal gloomy Tadashi but I've only known him 2 days so I don't know how the normal Tadashi acts.

"I walk with my friends."

"Seems they didn't care to walk with you today."

"And how do you know that?" I slammed my book on my table which caught the attention of every student in the class. What's worse, I didn't even notice that the teacher had already walked in.

"Mr. Makino, is there a problem?"

I nodded and all the students burst into laughter making me feel all the more worse about myself, I made Daichi mad, I'm being laughed at and goddamned Kuroda Tadashi is getting on my fucking nerves. I felt my emotions well up, on the brink of bursting and I sniffled.

"Are you crying?" Ryoko giggled. "I guess you can expect something like that from a male omega."

"Yeah, they're basically girls with dicks and no boobs." One of the male students agreed with her.

I stood up and ran out of the classroom, in order to avoid Akito and Daichi from seeing me, I ran the other way but what I didn't know was that Tadashi followed me but he ran towards their class.

"Makino, come back." He yelled, right in front of their class.

That probably got their attention but I doubt they'd care, Daichi was mad and if Daichi's mad the Akito's mad, God, they're both such dicks. The tears kept coming out and I continued running until I ran into him.

"Hinata?" He said, "why are you running?"

I looked up to see Matsuzaki and beside him was Daisuke.

"Aw the little boy's crying." Daisuke chuckled.

"Daisuke." He yelled and he immediately stopped laughing.

He held me and signalled to Daisuke to leave and he did with little to no protest. He put his hand on my face and brought it to look at him.

"You look fine now." He smiled, unexpectedly, it made me feel at ease.

He walked me to my class after I explained what had happened, I realized that I had run a long way because it was such a long walk. When we got to the hallway leading to my class, I saw Akito and Daichi standing there, out of breath, Daichi stomped over to us and pulled me away from him, he grabbed my face after noticing the redness around my eyes.

"What did you do to him?" He yelled

"Daichi, why are you-"

"It's okay, Hinata." He looked at me, "if you want to talk, my class is 2A so feel free to visit." He smiled again, but this time it was warmer than before, I smiled back and he turned around to leave and Daichi grabbed him.

"What makes you think you can call him by his first name?" He yelled again.

"I assumed that was his last name, I'm sorry if I offended you."

"I don't mind." I replied.

"Then you can also call me by my first name, Touya."

"We don't care about your name." Daichi yelled, louder this time.

"Daichi, come on, leave him alone." Akito removed his hand and he walked away.

I shaked off Daichi's hand, where he had been holding me.

"Hinata, what's gotten into you?" This was the second time he's called my full name.

"No, what's gotten into you? You've been pissed off since yesterday, you're acting like a jealous boyfriend." I said as calmly as I could before we got into trouble.

"And what if I am?"

"And what if you are, what? A jealous boyfriend?"

"No, what if I am jealous? What would you do about it?"

"Why would you be..." I finally got it, I paused and asked, "Do you like me?" hoping that his answer was not what I thought it to be.

He didn't answer me so I looked to Akito for answers.

"Since when, Akito?"

"Since middle school, I guess." He said, scratching the back of his head. "Look, I don't want to be dragged into this lovers quarrel." He walked away.

I looked over at Daichi, who was facing the floor.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"It's not like anything would've happened, I mean a beta can't satisfy an omega's heat."

I had just realized how much I had hurt his feelings and that made me feel hurt.

"I never planned to tell you so just act like you don't know."

"But I can't do th-"

"Please, just please." His voice was shaking.

"Okay." I walked past him and kept walking, he was behind me but I couldn't look back, if I looked back, I would have to see that expression on his face again. I was almost to the door of my class when I heard his voice again. "Please act like we never had this talk, for my sake and yours." and he walked away.

After school, I couldn't bring myself to ask him to walk home with me.

"Wanna walk home together?" Tadashi snuck up behind me, making me jump.

"No." I said and he started to walk away but I didn't want to walk home alone. "Wait-" He stopped, "-only today."

We arrived at my house to see my dad sitting in front of the door.

"Who's this?" He asked.

"I'm Kuroda Tadashi, A classmate of Makino's."

"I didn't ask you, I asked my son."

"H-he's Kuroda and he's my classmate, just like he said." I stuttered.

"Daichi and that other boy came here asking if you were home. I thought you'd walk home with them."

"He and I had a fight so we aren't talking." I walked past my dad, to the door, "Thanks Kuroda, see you tomorrow." And I walked in.

For the rest of the week, anytime I called Daichi, he ignored me, we stopped talking and he started locking his windows at night. It was obvious he was avoiding me and I gave him his space, but he didn't have to do it so openly. I frequented Matsuzaki's class for advice.

It was finally Friday, the end of our first week of school and we still hadn't talked. I had gotten close to Matsuzaki but I needed Daichi, he is my childhood friend after all. I was packing up to leave school when Akito casually strolled into my classroom with a reluctant Daichi right behind him.

"Let's walk home together and before you say anything, no this is not a question or request, this is an order." He said.

I was finally happy and expecting it to be a joyful and laughter-filled walk home but unsurprisingly, it wasn't. We walked home in silence, even Akito didn't want to talk, normally, this would be so easy, talking just came naturally to us but ever since he told me how he felt, everything went haywire.

"Look, I'm not gonna force you to talk to me and you can keep your windows locked if you want so let's not make this more awkward than it already is." I walked ahead.

I wasn't expecting it but none of them came to talk to me to change my mind. I kept walking ahead when I felt dizzy, I grabbed onto the telephone pole that was next to me, it was hard to keep standing.

"Hey Hina, are you okay?" Daichi ran over to me.

"Yeah, I just walked too fast, I'll be okay, you guys can go on without me and stop calling me that." They ignored my request and left, I mean our houses were right in front of us. Why would they need to wait for me?

I started walking again using the walls and poles for support, that's all I could do since Daichi and Akito practically abandoned me. I lost my balance again and was about to hit the ground, face first but nothing happened.

"You okay?" I felt someone's hand pressed around my abdomen, I looked up to see Yuichi.

I was so stunned that I didn't know what to say, I stared at him for what seemed like a really long time.

"Makino, are you okay?" He asked again, lifting me up and planting me on my feet.

"Um.. I-I'm okay, I just lost my footing." I replied, flustered.

"Are you sure?" He asks, now looking around, "Where are your friends?"

I told him what had happened and he helped me walk to my house where we found Akito, Daichi and my dad standing at the front door, waiting for me but why? Akito and Daichi didn't think twice when I told them to leave and now what? They're waiting for me. I don't know how or when but I felt this overwhelming rage well up inside me and everything went black.
