Tracy's POV
"Momma can you save me? Uncle Garvin isn't who you think he is," Kian cries struggling to reach out to me, he has a hand at his back.
"Kian baby what happened," I cried, wiggling myself to reach his hand, "tell Momma what he did to you?"
"When you come back to me," he said, sniffing his own tears back, "Come back soon will you?"
"Kian please don't go," I cried, dropping yinmy knees but it was too late, very late to reach out to him. He has disappeared into thin air just like Kia and the rest of them.
All because of my bad deeds, because I refused to think about others, because I refused to submit to Garvin, because I refused to tell Kia about his child. I hid his son, the heir to his pack.
I was not a good enough stepdaughter to Steve, that is why he is revenging, why
Kia's POVThe words on the results glaring boldly at me. 'Positive,' the single word, changing my entire life. The floor beneath me spinning under my feet as I reached to grab the bed, to support my self from falling to the ground. My eyes alternating from the results to Kian who was lying on the bed beside me. His lashes resting on his cheek bones. How had I missed all the signs? The hair, the eyes.Even Kyle had mentioned it, but I kicked feverently against all evidence pointing towards the direction of Kian being my child.I mean if he was mine Tracy would have mentioned it right?_'i don't blame mate,' my wf howled within me, worsening my annoyance.__'i should leave her? She hid our heir from us all these years'__'no she didn't, crystal told me, we only hid it from you,' he countered,__'wait, you are aware all the child being mine?"__'what big secret did you think I mentioned hiding from you. It's only right that you found out this way,'__'how are you able to hide things fr
Garvin POV Watching as Kia ran around, making sure that Tracy was okay, I could not help but feel a knot in my chest. I had taken care and nursed Tracy for almost four years, but now it seems more like all .y efforts are soon going to waste. I can't lie, the look perfect together but I haven't yet reached my goal. Tracy will pay for using me, all these years and Kia, for thinking his smug and can have whatever he wants. My eyes land on Kian who is snuggled up against Tracy. He has been avoiding my gaze since he woke up, and with the fear evident in his eyes, I can tell that he remembers, he remembers all too vividly. But there's no way to know if he would tell anyone, if he has already told Kia about it. But Kia doesn't look like he is going to gobble me up at any given time. "Um Lisa," I call out, leaning in towards her, she has refused to sleep all through the night, ever since Kia saw tear drops from Tracy's eyes. "Sir," she replies, yawning as she turns to face me. "Has K
Garvin's POVAfter a moment of silence, the eldest man, who seemed to have some beef with me, spoke up. "Did you just say that we are being overbearing?""Yes," I said without any hesitation. I looked at him challengingly, hoping for him to flare up.Instead of doing that, he looked at another elder. "Do you see how he is talking to us?""Preposterous," one of them said, getting up. "Young man, you have to think about what you say a little more; otherwise, you might get into some real trouble.""Real trouble with who?" I asked. "You guys?" I sneered. "You think too highly of yourselves.""Enough," Uncle Gaston said, silencing both parties at once with a single glance. It was obvious to anybody in the room at this point that he was the most respected, probably even had the most power, maybe even more than I did."At least he still knows his place," I thought, glaring at the elders in front of me."And wipe that look off your face," he said to me."Okay, maybe he did not exactly know hi
Garvin's POVHe sat down opposite me, and we were silent for a very long time."What you said you want to just see me, what did you want?" I asked. He was silent, making me sit there in suspense. As a matter of fact, he was the only one who could do this to me, the only one allowed to not answer my question when it was direct."Something is wrong with you," he said."Excuse me?" I asked."I said that something is wrong with you," he said in a deep voice."What are you talking about?" I asked him."Calm down," he said. "Do you have anything that you would like to tell me about?""No," I said. "Why do you ask?""Because something is obviously bothering you," he said, drumming on the table impatiently."Didn't you come here to tell me something?" I asked."Well, of course, I did. I came here so that I would find out how Tracy is doing," he said with a smile. "How is she doing?""Is that honestly what you all came here for?" I asked."I also came here to see you personally. After all the
Kia's POVEven I couldn't figure out the reason why I was on my way to get every pasta by myself instead of just ordering it online. Or maybe I should give it to a servant to get it; any one of those options will do, but I found myself going personally."Do I just want to get out of our presence for a while?" I asked, featuring her face, my mind stuck on the face that had hidden away so many secrets from me. Who knew how many were still hidden?"Uncle, you're not focusing on your driving," Kian said. I noticed that the car was driving slower and slower because I was applying pressure to the brakes subconsciously. In addition, the car was already turning towards a gutter."I'm sorry," I said sheepishly as I adjusted the car. "Maybe I just need a little rest.""Not just rest, you need plenty of rest," he said, his voice cheerful. The joy in his voice almost made me happy. Almost."I think that is the restaurant we are looking for," he said, pointing.Through the rearview mirror, I could
Kia's PovEntering the room, I immediately fixed my gaze on her. I wanted to know whether she was awake or asleep. Honestly, I did not know which one I wanted more at this point. I definitely wanted to talk to her and pour out my frustration, but at the same time, I wanted to run away from that conversation as far as possible. Kian jumped on her bed with a happy expression on his face. 'No boy, you don't want to wake her up if she is still sleeping.' I said in my head, the words refusing to come out. Maybe I wanted her to wake up after all. She did not react, meaning that she was still sleeping. At least I had some time to prepare my mind.I looked down at the bag in my hand. It contained the food I had bought from the restaurant. It is sure to calm me down, I thought. I came nearer and sat on her bed, observing her as she slept just as I had done for the past couple of days. Shaking my head in disappointment, I left and pulled out a chair from a corner of the ward. I looked aroun
Kia's POVWhen she gave me the confirmation that she was able to finish her food, I found myself relaxing. Well, that meant that she'd gain a lot of strength and then I could ask her a lot of questions, didn't it?He ate calmly, and I watched her intently, not knowing what I was looking for. Soon, all of a sudden, she started to choke."Dammit, I should have thought about that," I thought, getting up immediately, looking around for water. Surely, there was a sink in here. After scanning the entire room with my eyes, I found out that there was none."I'm pretty sure that hospital wards are supposed to contain sinks for water," I said, even as I stormed out of the room in search. "Like, what are they supposed to do if the patient suddenly wanted to vomit or to clean up his face? There needed to be a sink in it.""Or is this place a very cheap one?" I asked, trying to figure it out. "If it was cheap, then it made sense why they were not able to provide all the rooms with all the necessar
Kia's POVI waited patiently for the boy to begin telling us what he had in mind. Maybe it had to do with what he said, that he would rather talk to his mommy about. He hesitated, looking at me, feeling his eyes resting on me. I looked away for a while, wondering about the best way to deal with the situation. I was definitely going to hear what he wanted to say, even if I had decided to let them have their peaceful private conversation. Now that I knew I was his father, I couldn't keep myself out of his life for much longer."I should stop pretending," I thought, looking at them, and showing that I knew he was looking at me."Oh, is it a private conversation?" I asked."I told you before, I want to talk to only mommy about it," he said."Fair enough," I said, "after all, I am just a distant relative." I zeroed my eyes in on Tracy, and as she opened her mouth, not waiting for her to say anything, I got up and walked out of the room. Calmly, I would just have to listen from outside the
