Chapter 02 - Must have been the wind

Hyde

It was supposed to be an ordinary day for me. I was supposed to join the drag racing of the motherfuckers at kung sino ang mananalo, sa kanya mapupunta ang Crusxi v21, a luxury car owned by Cross. One of the idiots, my friend.

Annoyance was taking over me. This is just so fucking absurd.

"But sir, Ma'am Fawn--- " Pinutol ko kaagad ang sasabihin ni Freanceia. I don't wanna hear any of it because I was pretty sure that it was just all nonsense. Matanda na ako and yet she kept meddling in my life and I really hate her for that.

"No buts Freanceia. I don't fucking care about what she said," I simply said.

I dropped the call in frustration. Why does mom is fond of meddling in my life? well, because she wants everything under her control, even our lives, but one thing's for sure...

I need to go to that fucking drag racing!

My phone rang. I was expecting her call and I was right. I quickly answered it without blinking.

"Why did you phoned me out of the blue? Need something? " My voice was hardened by sarcasm. I still managed to ask even though I was gritting my teeth. 

"I told your secretary to call you and go back to your office but you dropped the call. My god Hyde! kailan mo pa balak pumasok? pag-bagsak na ang mga hotel na 'tin?"

I dropped my gaze in front. I quickly turned the steering wheel nang mapag-tanto kong mababangga ako. Crap! my car almost crashed!

"Fuck! All Right papasok na 'ko."

"Don't curse on me, young man. Hindi kita pinalaking ganyan"

I rolled my eyes. I didn't bother to respond and ended the call while muttering a curse under my breath. Sa sobrang inis, napasabunot na lang ako sa sarili bago napag-desisyunanang bumalik sa condo unit ko.

Yeap just to change fucking clothes.

"Not gonna come assholes,"  I called Joah. One of the motherfuckers.

"The great poop Hyde amoushe strovinstell can't come so that means you'll lend us your Ethrovin jevinskale x90 for a week. Samahan mo nang beer pre hehe." Wala akong nagawa kundi ang mag-mura.

Ang kakapal talaga ng mga mukha ng mg gungong na 'yon kahit kailan!

I guess mas lalo pa akong nawalan ng mood pumasok sa opisina. Damn this asshole! I'm going to shut his face when I see him around. I can hear them laughing like there's something funny.

"Fuck you Joah! tell them that don't laugh at me or else, I won't let you use my Ethrovin."

I can't imagine myself na ipapahiram ko ang Ethrovin jevinskale x90 ko sa mga hinayupak na 'yon. Mga gago pa naman iyon, baka kung ano anong katarantaduhan ang gawin. The image of my friends partying, flirting, making out, fucking girls, drinking whiskey, black label, vodka, tequila is hella scaring the shit of me.

Ayaw kong madungisan ang yate ko incase that happen, I will never ever lend them my yacht ever again. Ethrovin jevinskale x90 is my favorite luxury yacht given by my grandparents noong 18th birthday ko sa Milan. My grandparents bought the yacht from a famous multi-billionaire businessman based in Italy.

On my way to the office, I dialed Freanceia's number. She's my secretary.

"I'm on my way. Ready the papers, I'm gonna sign all of it so I can have peace of mind."

"Copy Sir."

I'm a workaholic person and I really hate it kapag naiistorbo ako sa oras ng pag-papahinga ko or even in free times dahil mabilis lang ako mainis. The traffic light turned red so I stopped the car. I saw a girl crossing the road, I didn't realize that my eyes were glued to her. I didn't even know why.

The girl is wearing simple faded jeans paired with a plain white shirt, and white sneakers. She's so plain and boring, not my type at all. I shooked my head when I heard the beeps at the back. When I arrived at the lobby, papers were scattered all around the floor. No one should dare to mess with me.

"What the heck happened here? what's this mess?"

I asked my employees but they didn't answer me. My brows automatically met. Oh! I forgot to mention that I also hate it when I'm asking but nobody responds.

"Freanceia, what the fuck happened?" I started to get annoyed. Wala ni isa ang nangahas na magsalita. Really scared of me huh?

"Miss Amaranth went here earlier at nang malaman niya na wala ka sa opisina mo Sirr, tinapon niya 'yan then tinakot niya na ipapatanggal sa trabaho ang sinuman na mag-sumbog sa 'yo." My eyebrows met again when i heard her name.

That brat was really something.

"Where did she get all these papers?"

All my employees were still there watching me. Ang iba ay nag-pipigil ng hininga. Am I really that intimidating? or do I look like a monster?

"It's from the marketing department, Sir."  I clapped my hands in amusement. Finally, may nag-salita na.

"What are you looking at? clean up this mess then go back to your work."  Malalaking hakbang ang ginawa ko. Freanceia followed me, siya na mismo ang nag-press ng button sa elevator.

"Next time, huwag niyong hayaan makapasok 'yong babaeng yon kung ayaw ninyong mawalan ng trabaho." Pag-babanta ko but still no fear was written on her face. Wala lang ito sa kanya, sanay na talaga siya sa 'kin.

"Yes Sir."

"And Sir, you have a meeting tomorrow with Sir Evanns at the Bucks, 3:30 pm,"  saad niya na ikinakunot ng noo ko. I think my blood just started to boil again.

"Wait what? did I heard it right? that creature named Evanns wants to have a meeting with me again?" Napahilamos ako sa mukha.

Is it even worth it if I waste my time meeting again with him? he's so stubborn huh? ano bang nakain ng gago na 'yon at ang sipag-sipag makipag-meeting?

He kept chasing me for almost 5 months and I declined him 50 times for fuck's sake but still determined? He must be really sick.

"Yes Sir. Desidido talaga si Mr. Evanns na kausapin kayo. If you still turn him down this time, he promised he'll never bother you again." I shooked my head. I think I'm having more headaches this past few days and I'm looking forward to a short vacation.

Freanceia is beautiful and attractive indeed but I never get attracted to her. She is tall, she has a fit and fine body, clear and pale skin, and long brown wavy hair.

She already knows things all about me. What I like and I hate, what annoys me easily and whatsoever. Siya lang ang nakapasa sa isang daang nag-apply para maging sekretarya ko because I knew that she'll really fit in at hindi nga ako nag-kamali.

She passed the interview because her skills are what I need. She's a professional.

I already finished signing all the papers that needed to be signed. Lunch came and I got a text from Amaranth saying that I should have dinner with her later. Did she expect me to say yes? well, good luck to her.

Why won't she leave me alone? kailan niya ba ako tatantanan?

Amaranth was my ex-girlfriend. I broke up with her when I caught her making out with another guy during my birthday party in a bar. Mabuti na 'din iyon kasi ayoko 'din namang matali sa kanya.

I don't want a woman like her. She was the daughter of the famous actress Mrs. Jercey Evannou Fulvous and I don't give a shit about it. Their daughter is a brat.

"Craving for a sandwich filled with roasted beef, salad, quesadilla, and Starbucks green tea frappuccino. You know what to do."

"Copy Sir." As soon as she left, I paused for a while then stared at the glass where the whole city lies.

Kitang-kita ang buong syudad mula sa loob ng opisina ko. It was a nice view but there's the reality behind it. There was extreme hunger, pollution, corruption and so many more. I hate to admit it but this is the reality.

This is the real world and it's cruel.

Hindi ko namalayan ang mabilis na pag-lipas ng oras. The next thing I knew, it is already dark outside. I glanced at the wall clock, it was 8 pm.

Out of the blue, biglang pumasok si Freanceia kasama si Amaranth na siyang ikinakunot ng noo ko. Halatang-halata na ang pagod sa mukha ng sekretarya ko. I bet she was tired because she keep pushing Amaranth away.

"I'm sorry Sir. I tried to push her away pero nag-pumilit pa rin siyang makapasok dito." Umigting lamang ang panga ko. I gritted my teeth, trying to calm myself.

"Shut up ugly muggle!" Amaranth hissed in annoyance at her.

"Ako na ang bahala dito. You can go home."

Nag-alinlangan pa siyang umalis dahil baka mag-wala na naman dito si Amaranth. Just like the other day, she was like a witch who came out of the woods.

"Are you sure Sir?" Sinenyasan ko siyang umalis na.

"Hi, babe how's work?" ngumiti siya pero hindi ko 'yon pinansin.

"Get out." I simply said but she just glued her eyes on me then naupo sa ibabaw ng mesa ko.

"Hyde naman. You know I miss you." Umupo siya sa hita ko. She started to draw circles at my neck at hinawi ko naman iyon.

I hate it!

"How dare you to make a mess here in my property? wala ka na bang ibang alam kundi ang mag-inarte?" Natigilan siya saglit then she smirked. Nilaro-laro niya rin ang Aurora diamante fountain pen na nasa mesa. Oh no! not my ballpen!

"Don't touch my pen. It costs more than your life."

"As if I care Hyde. I can buy that two times. Naiirita ako sa mga empleyado mo, they won't allow me to enter here." Now she's playing with her hair na parang nag-hihintay lang kung mangyayari.

"Then don't come back. I told my guards not to let you enter here." Nag-salubong ang kilay niya. I smirked.

It was so fun to watch her being annoyed.

"What?! no one can get on my way you know. I'm Amaranth ross fulvous and I can get and do whatever I want." Did she mean the spoiled brat, bitch, whore, and slut Amaranth ross fulvous?

"Leave now," I uttered.

"I'm not leaving. I want to have dinner with you."  As expected, there comes again the stubborn Amaranth

Kinuha ko ang coat na nakasampay sa likod ng swivel chair ko at binilisan ko ang lakad paalis. Mabuti na lang at ang bagal niyang mag-lakad. I quickly pressed the button but dammit ! Naiharang niya ang kamay niya.

"Not so fast babe. Wait for me, naka-park sa labas ng building ang kotse ko."

"Wala akong pakialam." Kailangan pa ba talaga niyang sabihin sa 'kin ang lahat? i don't even give a damn about it.

Sino ba siya sa buhay ko?

Nag-madali ako na makasakay sa Bugatti veyron ko. I was planning to escape her pero sa kasamaang palad bago ko pa ito mapaandar, humarang na siya sa dinadaanan ko. I just cursed in frustration.

"Dammit, Amaranth! why don't you just leave me alone?" She rolled her eyes and completely ignored the words that came out of my mouth.

"I don't care Hyde. Kumain na lang tayo sa Third fractio."

Can't she just understand that I don't want to have a dinner with her? it's just as simple as that but damn she was so stubborn. May lumapit na batang lalaki sa direksyon na 'min at napako ang tingin ko doon.

"Ate, kuya palimos po. Pang-kain lang po, gutom na gutom na po kasi ako." Gusgusin, punit ang damit, payat at namumutlang bata ang bumungad sa 'kin.

"Yuck! paalisin mo nga yang batang iyan Hyde, shooo!" Napapikit ako ng mariin dahil narinig ko na naman ang kaartehan niya. Kaya ayaw ko talaga sa mga babaeng mas maarte pa sa maarte.

Fuck! I'm going insane!

"Bata, halika gutom ka diba?" Someone called the boy at napako ang tingin ko sa kanya.

It was her. It was the same girl I saw crossing the road earlier.

"Hyde I said come on!" Binalik ko ang tingin ko kay Amaranth na nag-iispray na ng alcohol sa ere.

"I'm not going to have dinner with you do you understand? at lubayan mo na ako got it?" Pigil na pigil na ang hininga ko ng sabihin ko 'yon.

"No, you're mine Hyde, mine alone. I'll do everything to have you back," she said while gritting her teeth. Her fists were curled and ready to punch someone.

"Don't even try." I gave her a smirk kaya mas lalo pa siyang nainis.

I hopped in my car then left with her mouth half-open. I glanced at the woman bago ako tuluyang maka-alis and to my surprise, she was looking at me too.

A pair of familiar black eyes, screaming a lot of pain. She was so familiar.

We decided to chill at the Hacienda de creed the other day, owned by Phoenix's family. matagal na rin yung huling punta namin dito. That was 2 years ago nung birthday nilang kambal.

They owned a total of 10 horses. Ginagamit namin ang iba kapag pumupunta kami dito. I would go to the outskirts of town to explore. Meron mga sapa, batis at maliit na ilog dito kaya pag-nandito kami, madalas kaming maligo. It was really refreshing and so nice dahil pansamatala kong natatakasan ang mga problema.

"Hey nix, where's your sister?" I heard Montani asked Phoenix.

Montani has a huge crush on Phoenix's twin, Cheolea ever since but she didn't give a damn because she knew that he was an asshole.

"Nasa kabilang bayan. Sa San isidro," tipid na sabi ni Phoenix. As far as i know, Cheo is on her photoshoot today, nabanggit sa 'kin ni Phoenix noong isang araw.

Yeap, she was a model. She was working under Img models and some of the famous fashion brands.

"Grabe na yan Bernthal pati kapatid ni gago pinapatos mo," Natatawang tukso ni Joah.

"So? anong masama 'dun?"

"Tama na nga yan mga hinayupak kayo! 'yung cupcakes ko tinitira na ninyo!" I glanced at Montani and Joah, eating Phoenix's cupcake. Kalalaking tao ang hilig sa matatamis.

"Taenang cupcake to sino nag-bake? tangina parang tae ng aso na 'min," reklamo ni Montani kaya binato siya ng plastic bottle ni Phoenix at sapul na sapul ang mukha nito.

"Pucha ang sakit. Gago ka Saldivar!" then Montani saluted his middle finger at Phoenix na parang binagsakan ng langit at lupa.

Binawasan lang naman kasi ng mga gago ang favorite cupcake niya kuno. He's acting like a child.

"Taena. Kumakain ka ng tae ng aso? kadiri ka Fenner. Tangina mo bente."

Seriously? Is he fucking serious about that? tangina, mas kadiri pa to si Montani kesa sa naulol na aso.

"Could you please shut up?" Sabay-sabay kaming napalingon kay Cross.

He's always like that. Silent all the times at minsan lang mga salita, but if he wasn't like that, he's not anymore the Cross fenner we know.

The living room was filled with laughter in every corner. Hanggang sa mag tanong si Montani kung sino ang babae sa Third fractio. I don't know who is he referring to, he forgot that Gaius has a lot of female employees.

"Matanong nga Gaius. Sino 'yong babae dun sa pizza parlor mo? shet ganda niya eh," I heard that kaya bigla ako nag-karoon ng interes but what the heck? i don't know what's gotten into me and I don't even know who is he referring to.

"Is she really your employee?" Gaius simply nodded with Montani's question.

"Ginagago mo ba ako Mon? I have a lot of female employees remember?" Napakamot ng batok si Montani. He's so stupid sometimes.

Gaius is one of my best buds simula pa noong high school kami hanggang ngayon. He joined the pizza-making contest five or four years ago, I don't know the exact date then after he won that contest, he started his Third fractio and that's when he started being independent.

While Joah is a Hollywood actor. He has a lot of successful projects that gained him a lot of popularity. Some of the projects were the movies The dark prophecy directed by Anson brewer, Casualties directed by Steven Spielberg, The mainstream directed by Charlesworth Beckinsale, Predilection directed by Javier shawles and so many more.

Phoenix is the heir of the Hacienda de creed. Their family is widely known in Isabela. They were the top supplier of fruit and vegetables in the whole Luzon area. Most of the residents in Isabela usually work for them, making them more famous.

Montani is also a businessman. Their family business is based in Toronto. The Bernthals were the top supplier of engine oils in the cities of Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, and Victoria in Canada.

While Cross was the genius among us. His mind was very dangerous. He was the ferfuge's heir, Philippines's largest software company in the software industry. At the age of 12, he was already a polymath, a Filipino child prodigy. He may be silent sometimes but when it comes to computers, he was a damn savage. He was the William James Sidis of the Philippines, the most genius person ever existed. Sidis was more genius than Albert Einstein.

"I mean the one who's really silent and slight shy type?"

"Oh you mean Solene? she works a lot. Matagal na siya sa pizza parlor pati sa bar."

"Eh bakit nag-tatrabaho sa 'yo? eh mukhang anak mayaman." Puno ng kuryosidad na tanong ni Joah kay Gaius. Even me, at first I thought that she was a daughter of some business tycoons kung hindi lang siya simple manamit.

"Nah she's not. She's too far from what you expected bud."

She's pretty.

The other side of my mind said.

"Hindi!" Napaigtad ang mga gago ng sumigaw ako at kahit ako ay nagulat rin.

The fuck.

"What? anong hindi?" si Joah.

"Ano nang nangyari sayo jan gago?" si Montani.

"Umamin ka nga nag shashabu ka ba?" si Phoenix.

"Cut the crap! Tangina ninyo." I showed my middle finger at them.

"Pakyu ka din." Sabay-sabay na sabi ng mga gago
