Turning her attention to the watch in Wally's hand, Karina remarked, "Poor Wally. Neither you nor your mother can afford that watch at the moment.”

Wally let out an exasperated sigh, feeling embarrassed.

"However, for old times' sake, allow me to do you a favor. You can have the watch, Wally," Karina offered, trying to be generous.

Wally's face lit up with a hint of gratitude. Feeling humiliated, Cruzita told her daughter to put the watch back.

"Mother, I can't," Wally adamantly refused.

Cruzita shot a piercing glare at Karina and spat, "Get off your high horse, Karina. You still look just as common and inelegant as you did six years ago," she grumbled. "And don't you dare try to do us any favors. I have the means to provide for my daughter's needs."

Karina shrugged and leaned back against the counter, a smug grin spreading across her face as she waited for a response.
