Chapter Nine

Zara's POV

My big mouth and my inability to reason properly when angry has caused me a lot of problems. And this is the worst one ever.

My mom hasn't stopped making arrangements for me since I decided to go to Darius's pack.

"Don't look so gloomy, nobody is sending you to the slaughter house" Beth told me as she helped braid my hair.

"Anywhere Darius is feels like a slaughter house to me." I turned to face her, causing her to drop my hair. "I have to go there tomorrow. Why won't mom let me reschedule? Darius's parents look like nice people, they would understand".

Beth glared at me and I sat properly.

"It is just a week and you can also practice for your contest there. Just give it a try, you and Darius could be good friends"

" Good friends my ass" I scoffed, folding my arms over my chest.

I wasn't hyped up to stay at another pack apart from mine. To me, my pack is where I get peace of mind.

"Just look at the positive side of it" Beth tried to cheer me up.
