Chapter 0006

Gabriel

I was in my office in the hospital writing up a report on my latest theory for how to help wolves recover from battle injuries not just physically but mentally. It’s not been a problem in our pack but I always found it interesting. I wanted to make the healing process more holistic; it wasn't just the body that needed to be healed but the mind too.

‘Gabriel get the hospital ready there’s an emergency,’ Dad mind linked snapping me out of my thoughts the worry and panic in his voice set me on edge.

‘How many?’ I mind linked back trying to keep as calm as possible. We hadn't had any issues in years, what could have possibly happened. The only thing I could think of was mum, it was the anniversary of her death today.

‘Two women,’ dad added but his panic made me worry, he hadn’t sounded like this in a long time, I was actually thinking he was making progress. That’s why my interest in the mind had started, seeing the devastation he has had to work through after the loss of his mate. There needed to be more research on how to help the other move on.

I exited my office calling everyone’s attention.

‘Two women are being brought in, I’m not sure what has happened but we need to be ready, start getting two rooms set up stat!’ I commanded as I headed to my office picking up my tools, I would need to examine them before I entered back into the hall seeing dad and Sabastian carrying the two women, they must have run here and carried them from wherever they found them.

My first concern was that neither of them were moving.

‘What happened!’ I shouted as I made my way over to where dad and Sebastian were. I reached dad first looking over the woman in his arms, she was cold, dehydrated, I would need to assess her better to make a final decision.

‘Take her to room 4, everything is set up, put a blanket over her and if she wakes up try giving her a little water not too much too quickly,’ I added seeing dad look like this it reminded me of how he looked when he carried mum in. I pushed the thought from my mind as he nodded, heading off to do as I instructed.

I approached Sabastian next. It was odd that he hadn’t immediately passed her to someone else, he never showed any interest in helping others usually. Don’t get me wrong he cares deeply for the pack and those he is closest to, but normally strangers especially rouges he showed zero interest in.

I looked at the young girl in his arms turning her towards me, I felt a rumble in his chest but I couldn’t be sure, she appeared the same as the other woman, cold and dehydrated. My first priority was to wake them up, I would be able to assess further once I had my equipment.

I tried to take her knowing he how he is, I looked at the girl she was fucking gorgeous her soft gentle features that look of pure innocence with her body … I couldn’t quite make out but I wanted to see her, wanted to know what she looked like. My eyes snapped up to Sabastian; he refused to let me take her which I thought was odd. Before I could say anything, he snapped at me as his anger radiated off him. It was probably to do with mums’ death; he had struggled the most out of the four of us.

‘I can carry her, where shall I place her!’ he snapped, almost growling at me once again. I wanted to hold her, she looked so small and innocent in his arms, she needed protecting.

‘Room 5,’ I added sharply. I didn't mean to snap at him, we were all feeling it today with mum’s death but I needed to do my job. I followed after him wanting to make sure he didn’t just chuck her on the bed, he wasn’t gentle at all.

I caught him just after he placed her down, he seemed to be looking at her curiously, irritation flickered through me, this girl was clearly suffering. Was he going to interrogate her for crossing our borders?

He stood right by the side of her bed placing the bags he was carrying down, his eyes never leaving her. I entered the room standing on the other side of her trying to see her if she had any injuries.

Her eyes snapped open as she scanned the room, dazzling green eyes the colour of a fern, her eyes held so many emotions, I gave her a comforting smile as she looked my way before she bolted upright screaming from the top of her lungs.

‘MUM!’ Sabastian placed his hand gently on her shoulder seconds before I did lower her back down to the bed. Her eyes found him and he whispered something so quietly if I didn’t have my wolf hearing I wouldn’t have heard.

‘Hush little kitten you're safe,’ her eyes just widened in response to a faint blush on her cheeks as I lowered her other shoulder down, his eyes snapped to mine. I couldn't work out his expression, his actions and words confused me more than anything.

I could smell her fear and my hand released her shoulder, how must it look to wake up in a strange place, two strange men holding her down, she wriggled some more almost falling off the bed as Sabastian tried to restrain her. Honestly, what did he think this little lamb was going to do?

I almost growled at him when she fell off the bed, who knows what injuries she had, I didn’t want things to get any worse. She knocked into the machinery I needed to check her vitals as she rushed to the door, her legs stumbling still weak. I went to reach her but Sabastian caught her in his hold first, I noticed his arms under her waist as her hoodie rose up showcasing her smooth taught stomach.

Fuck. She was fine, more than fine. Is there anything this girl didn’t have? She wriggled in Sabastian’s hold. I could sense his frustration with her, I didn’t want him to hurt her. Why was I feeling protective of her already? Because you’re a doctor Gabriel.

Although that was true, I wasn’t sure that was the whole reason.

‘Mum!’ she screamed again, pulling me from my thoughts as she ran out the consultation room, there was a lot of noise before the first woman clearly saw her mother; they looked exactly alike. She pulled her into her arms soothing her daughter. I checked out her ass seeing how they filled out her jeans. Damn.

‘Aurora are you alright,’ her mum asked her as she stroked her hair holding her close to her. Her little sobs filled the hospital, what had my little lamb been through.

‘I thought I’d lost you,’ her voice was like a sweet melody. I just wanted to hear it over and over again. I shook my head. I needed to check them both over. I wanted to make sure she was alright, Sabastian just stared at them watching them closely. Seriously, what did he think was going to happen?

I reached them both placing my hand on her shoulder comfortingly, I wanted her to feel safe almost as much as I wanted to touch her.

‘Aurora, please come back so I can examine you, I need to check your vitals, your mother can come with you, I need to check her over as well,’ I liked saying her name. It sounded far too good coming out of my mouth. She gave me a look as she bit her lip making my dick twitch in my pants. Her innocence and beauty was too much, if no one else was here I would be kissing those plush lips like my life depended on it.

Her mother took her hand, her spell broke when she looked at my brother, I was both relieved and jealous of the attention. I guess he saved her but I still wasn’t sure why he was still here. I placed my arm around her waist guiding her to the bed once more. I reasoned with myself it was my duty as her doctor to make sure she was okay; part of her jumper bunched up my thumb brushing the smooth skin on her waist.

‘Excuse me,’ Sabastian added coldly before he stormed out the room almost bumping into her mother which elicited a low growl from me. What was he playing at, he looked back hearing my growl but his eyes were fixed on her. She was looking back at him before he left the hospital. I felt relieved now he was gone, they were both awake. I could check them over.

When she reached the bed, I helped her up reluctantly letting her go, her mother sat next to her holding her hand.

‘My name is Doctor Gabriel Reynolds, it’s nice to meet you Aurora and …’ I paused looking at her mother for her name.

‘Sarah,’ she added and I gave them both a comforting smile.

‘Sarah, welcome to the Silverbrook Pack, I’m going to look after you whilst you are in my care,’ I gave them both a smile seeing how they visibly relaxed as they exchanged a look.

‘Thank you doctor,’ Sarah added.

‘Yes, thank you Doctor,’ Aurora said as well, her face holding a small smile.

‘Gabriel,’ I pressed. I don't know why but I wanted her to say my name.

‘Gabriel,’ she added. I had to hold myself back from claiming her lips with mine there and then, hearing my name on her lips was messing with me. What was this spell she had cast on me?

‘There you are?’ dad came in holding a cup of water as he eyes landed on Sarah, relief flooding his features as she gave him a smile back.

‘Is it okay if I examine you both?’ I asked gently as I stood from my crouched position picking up my tools to look them over. Dad handed Sarah the water as she took a sip giving him a smile.

‘Of course, Doctor Caleb,’ she added as Aurora nodded as well.

I checked her mother over to confirm her pulse and responses, careful not to touch her too much, with Dad hoovering the way he was, it was making my examination a little tricky.

‘Everything looks good but you need to rest, please return to your room. I'll have one of the nurses bring you some food,’ She nodded and I watched as dad helped her down, escorting her from the room. Aurora's stomach rumbled at that point which made me smile. She was watching her mother.

‘She’s just next door,’ I reassured her as her face turned back to mine with a nod.

‘I’ll do your exam and then you can eat and rest as well,’ I stated as her stomach rumbled once more causing her to giggle with embarrassment. I smiled watching her as I positioned myself between her legs, my torch shining in her eyes as I checked her responses. It was a dangerous game being so close to her but I couldn’t move away.

‘Good,’ I choked out. I could smell her delicious scent, making it out perfectly now that we were alone, lilac and rain. I took my stethoscope to listen to her heart, I could hear it perfectly but again I just wanted an excuse to touch her.

‘May I?’ I asked as I held up the stethoscope before lifting the base of her hoodie allowing my hand to glide underneath her hoodie and t-shirt to listen to her heart. She nodded her breath hitching slightly which I tried to ignore as my hand brushed over her breasts, the silky fabric holding them in place, I placed the stethoscope down listening but I could hear her heart racing, my fingers brushed the skin of her breasts, my eyes locked with hers.

I was glad she was young enough that she didn’t have her wolf yet so she couldn’t hear my own heart racing, I was desperate to see her without her hoodie, if what I felt was anything to go by her breasts were practically perfect, what other hidden treasures did my little lamb have?

I pulled my hand from her shirt as I swallowed, I needed to get a grip.

‘All looks good, I’ll send a nurse in with some food and drink in a moment,’ I stuttered out feeling far more flustered than I should. She gave me a nod as I walked out quickly, not looking back at her. I needed to get away from her. I headed straight to my office, locking the door.

‘Send food and drink to room 4 and 5 please,’ I mind linked the nurse as I undid my trousers seeing my rock-hard cock looking back at me.

Fuck I never have this type of reaction normally. I sat in my chair stroking my dick as I pictured her in my mind until I found my release.
