Mary Redferne

I groaned as I buried my face in the couch, waiting for this havoc to envelop me. I was at Judith’s house, which thankfully my parents didn’t know about. I never bothered telling people where she lived because it is a good hideout place for me.

I wasn’t nervous because I am a flight risk and I have disappeared a lot of times. It’s just that I really thought this time things would be different. Joshua would be different.

I don’t enjoy being rash, but I have to do it. I just wanted everything to go back to normal. I feel like if I end up marrying Joshua, my life is drastically going to change. It’ll start off easy, but then he will make me do things around the house while he works, then I would get pregnant, and he will suggest that I look after our kids.

Why do marriage and kids change a woman’s life so much?
