Chapter 9: Shocking News

Lagertha's POV:

As the sound grew louder Tobias' hold on my hips got tighter pulling me closer to him.

Staring at the bush I see my friends start to become on edge.

Lightly smelling the air to see if it's an animal I quickly realize the cause of my friends distress, it's not an animal, but its not human either.

We all stand there on guard, the only truly dangerous thing being the fact that we are next the the edge of a cliff, and of course the fact that we all don't stop aging untill were eighteen and sadly were all just shy of a year from that.

Starting to try and escape Tobias' hold I can feel his panic so I send a calming wave towards him while whispering out "its okay" causing his hold to loosen which let's me slip away from his outstretched arms before he goes to try and pull me back to him again.

Slowly and quietly I walk over to the bush walking past a tree where we usually keep a couple of knives for hunting, I decide to grab one.
