Chapter Twelve

SELENA’S POV

After I left Alpha Duncan’s tent that night, I returned to my tent and sank down on my bed, my thought racing.

That was the first time we’d had a real conversation, one that wasn’t just surface level banter. And I was surprised by how good it felt to talk to him like that.

I thought about the way he stood before the pack, confident and commanding, and I felt a twinge of envy when he mentioned Muna joining him.

I wondered why he needed Muna, and my suspicions were plain on my face. Was there something more going on between them?

I thought about when I confronted him and asked him why Muna should accompany him trying to hide my envy. Was it obvious to him that I felt bad by it?

Even though he explained, I found myself growing more and more frustrated. It wasn’t just the fact that I wasn’t allowed to accompany him, it was the fact that Muna was.

It seemed like he was favoring her over me, and I couldn’t help but wonder why. I was supposed to be his Luna at least not yet, b
