“My dad was an asshole. He used to beat my mother and she used to cope with it by drinking and taking pills. So she was off her face most of the time and didn’t know what was going on. Dad started beating me because he was sick of beating my mother. She was usually unconscious anyway, so he got no joy out of it. The scars on my back are from a silver whip.
