Adira’s POV
Cold water hits my face like an iceberg, and I quickly open my eyes to see that I am surrounded by a group of men I have never seen before. Realizing I am naked, I sit up and pull my legs into me as they all stare at me and I look around at their faces not recognizing any of them. That’s when I began to try and see my surroundings as my head felt foggy. “Who are you? And what are you doing on our lands?” A tall man says to me as he looks down at me. I went to answer him, but nothing came out of my mouth because I didn’t know the answers to what he seeks. “Answer me little wolf.” The man now says to me and I tilt my head to the side to his reference little wolf. “Maybe she is a mute.” One of the other men say to the man that just asked me the questions. “Or maybe her pack threw her out of their pack, and she is a rogue.” Another man said to the tall man. “Hush! She doesn’t smell like a rogue.” The tall man said back to the man that had called me a rogue. His attention then turned back to me and he asks, “Can you hear me?” I shake my head yes to the man wanting him to know that I can hear him, but words still don’t come from my lips.“Can you speak?” The man now asks, and I shake my head yes again. “Do you know your name, little wolf?” The man now asks me but when I go to say my name, I realize that I can’t remember anything from before they woke me. The word “no” finally comes from my lips and the sound of my voice even sounds foreign to me. The man then removes his shirt and leans down to hand it to me and says, “Put this on. I have to take you back to our Alpha.” Taking the shirt from the man, I quickly slide it over my head, grateful for it to cover my naked body. He then extended his hand to me and I hesitated for a minute. Looking at him I notice the softness now in his eyes. Finally, I extended my own hand to him, taking his into mine and he slowly helps me stand. When I got to my feet, I felt slightly off balanced and was about to fall over, but the man reached for me and wrapped his arms around me not allowing me to fall. Instantly, I froze at the proximity of our bodies and couldn’t help but look into his eyes. There was kindness behind those eyes and I felt myself wanting to trust the man that now held me in his arms. We stared into each other’s eyes for a few seconds, before he helped me upright and asked, “Are you okay now?” Swallowing hard, I got my balance and said, “Yes, thank you.” The men around us began to single file in the same direction, leaving me with the man that had helped me. “Then let’s get you to my Alpha.” He said as he made sure to walk beside me as we made our way to his Alpha. Along the walk, I noticed his eyes on me a few times and I turned my head to look at him, but he quickly turned away from me. Finally, he asks, “So you don’t remember who you are? Or how you got here?” I began to dig deep into my mind trying to find the answers that he seeks, but instead I was faced with a brick wall of nothing and my head began to hurt. I reached my hand to my head wanting the pain in it to stop, as I said, “I can’t remember anything. I’m sorry.” With a concerned look on his face, he says, “It’s okay, don’t push yourself. I am sure it will eventually come back to you.” His kindness touched something inside of me, that I felt like I wasn’t used to, and I felt the need to thank him. “Thank you for understanding.” I told him right before we walked out of the forest into a clearing. My eyes lit up when I took in the training area and the men and women, dueling one another, bringing me to a halt as I watched them. Something about watching them duel brought me joy, but I couldn’t understand why. As I stood there watching them the man says, “This is our training area. Both men and women learn the art of fighting here. I am sure this looks off to you, since we are the only pack that allows our she wolves to train.” Something about seeing the women train made my wolf inside of me stir and I felt myself being drawn even more to the sight in front of me. Just then I heard someone yell, “Blaze, where have you been?” Turning to see who was coming our way, I took a step back seeing the man that was approaching us. He was only dressed in a pair of gym shorts and was tall with dark skin tone. His chest looked like it was carved from marble and his arms had to be the largest I had ever seen. My heart skipped a beat when our eyes met, and I felt the breath within me escape my lungs. “Sorry Alpha Liam. We found this she wolf in the woods during our warm up run.” Blaze said as he turned to look at me and I looked at him for a moment and then back at Alpha Liam who I could see was confused by my appearance on his pack lands. “What are you doing on my lands?” Alpha Liam now asks me and I have no clue what to tell him. Thankfully, Blaze says, “She has no memory.” Alpha Liam tilts his head slightly to the side, before asking me, “Is this true?” “Yes, Alpha. I’m sorry but I can’t remember anything from before I was woken up.” I tell him hoping that he believes me because it was the truth. Alpha Liam stared at me for a minute as if he was trying to read me and then said, “Take her to the pack doctor to have her checked.” “Yes, Alpha.” Blaze said and began to walk past Alpha Liam. I began to follow him, but when I passed Alpha Liam the scent of elderberry and pine filled my nose, awakening my wolf even more and my head turned back to see him standing stiff as a board. “Come on, little wolf.” Blaze said, drawing my attention to him and away from Alpha Liam as I rushed to catch up to him wondering what just happened.Adira’s POV It didn’t take long for the pack doctor to clear me of any injuries and said what I had to be suffering from was an internal emotional battle with myself. Something painful had to of triggered me to lose my memory or that my wolf was doing this to protect me. Every time I tried to remember my life before I woke up, it brought on a headache from hell that almost took me to my knees. “Don’t push yourself to remember. It will come back to you in all good time.” The pack doctor told me as he watched me hold my head in pain. I was glad to hear that my memories would come back to me, but what was I to do in the meantime, not knowing who I was, or where I came from. Turning to Blaze, I asked, “Until then what am I to do?” “I’m sure Alpha Liam won’t put you out. You’re not a danger to our pack so I am sure he will let you stay here in the meantime.” Blaze said as we began to walk out of the infirmary and towards the packhouse that sat further away from the training area.
Liam’s POV After calming the new she wolf, I, myself, had to walk away and take a breather myself. Something about her was different from the other she wolves that I have been in contact with. Her wolf was strong and I could clearly feel an Alpha presence when her wolf showed a small glimpse of herself and it took everything I had in me to will her to calm her wolf. I had to now wonder after seeing her fight if she had training because no untrained she wolf could have pulled off the moves that she just pulled off against Racheal, one of my best female warriors. Racheal had clearly taken a cheap shot at her and I honestly don’t blame her wolf for reacting to it, but she needs to learn how to control her wolf, especially in battle. But there were no other packs that I knew of, especially in our area, that allowed their she wolves to train and this was where I was lost to where she had come from. A part of me wanted to call all the local packs to see if they were missing a she wolf
Adira’s POV My wolf was still purring after Alpha Liam had left the room. At first, I thought that he was here to tell me that I had to leave after what transpired on the training field, but when he looked into my eyes, I knew that wasn’t the case. But I had to walk on eggshells because I had no other place to go and I needed to stay on my best behavior here until I at least get my memory back and know where home was exactly. Wiping the mirror off from the steam that was caused by the shower, I look at the reflection looking back at me. Nothing about the person staring back at me looked familiar and I wondered how I didn’t even know what I looked like. Rummaging through the drawers of the vanity, I found a brush and began to comb out my long brown hair. It was long and sat down past my breast and I had to wonder if I had ever had a haircut. There was a knock on my door and I rushed towards it worried that it was the Alpha again and he had changed his mind about letting me stay h
Liam’s POV Sitting at the head of the table as I always do I find myself impatiently waiting for the new she wolf to arrive at dinner. I had told her five pm and I would have thought she would have been here by now, but it was five till and she still wasn’t here. The room was filling up fast as my pack continued to enter the dining room and the tables surrounding mine were now full. Blaze then walks in and takes his seat next to mine and I look over at him and ask, “Have you seen the new she wolf?” “Not since I put her in her room earlier, but I sent Lyra up with some clothes for her afterwards.” Blaze told me and I then began to scan the room for Lyra, as worry filled me that something had happened, when I realized her seat was empty too. Lyra was my baby sister and she had never really fit in with the rest of the pack and she kept to herself most of the time, because the other she wolves looked down on her because she wasn’t a warrior like the rest of them. Lyra had a kind h
Adira’s POV When dinner was over I felt a bit of relief as we got up to leave the table. I felt like everyone’s eyes were on me, especially after Alpha Liam had told the she wolf that he wouldn’t be joining them on a run tonight because of another engagement and I had to wonder what the other engagement was. “We can watch a movie tonight in my room, if you would like.” Lyra says to me as we go to move out of the dining room but we were stopped by Alpha Liam. “Go upstairs and change and meet me at the training area in ten minutes.” Alpha Liam said to me, as he moved past me and down a hallway. Looking at Lyra, I said, “Raincheck.” “It’s fine. I am sure he just wants to test your abilities. Maybe if its not to late we can still watch a movie.” Lyra said to me with hope, as we began to climb the stairs. “Sure, that would be great.” I said to her as we came to our floor and Lyra stopped at a door and said, “This is me. If you get back in time, just knock.” Assuring her I wou
Liam’s POV I must have run for miles, leaving off some heated steam, especially after feeling her lips on mine. There was no denying that I wanted this she wolf more then I have ever wanted anything in my life. The way our bodies moved in the training ring together as if we were one, was more of a dance than sparring, and it was as if our wolves were in sync with one another. One thing I was certain of was she was from Alpha blood, and she was definitely trained by an Alpha, and after removing her shirt, I was now sure she bared no mark of a mate. Which leads me to wonder why an Alpha would train this she wolf, especially since it is forbidden in all other packs. None of this made any sense to me and the more I thought about it the more I began to not care who she once was, but only cared that she was here right now, and she was a part of my pack. My wolf came to a halt as I found myself standing once again at the river that borders my lands, and I realized that I had followed h
Adira’s POV Alpha Liam’s arms wrapped around me felt like a protective blanket, after what he had just told me, but fear still filled me knowing that an elder Alpha was hunting me. I wish my memories would just come back and I would know why I had ended up here on his lands. I’ve had the sense that my wolf knew what happened and that she was the one protecting me from what transpired before I awoke here. As he held me tight to him, he whispers in my ear, “Stay with me tonight. Let my wolf have peace knowing that you are safe.” I had no clue what was going on between us and why he and his wolf were worried about my safety so much that he felt the need to protect me. The kiss that happened between us on the training field made me wonder if he had feelings for me, but when he disappeared into the night, I thought that he had regretted doing it. He never answered my question when I asked him about how I made him feel and I felt all confused about what was happening between the two o
Liam’s POV She was perfect, everything I could have ever hoped or prayed for, but I stopped because I didn’t know if I was good enough for her. How could she still be a virgin? I felt like the Moon Goddess was testing me. She didn’t belong to me, and I was sure that she had someone back at her pack searching for her. There was no way someone that possessed her skills and looked as good as her wasn’t spoken for, but she bared no mark. My heart was torn on what to do. Should I inform the other packs or should I keep her for myself. My wolf was in for the latter of the two, but I was torn. The moment we had just shared in my room was nothing like I had ever felt before and the connection was real and I know that she had felt it too. But once again, I ran from her, afraid to share my feelings and thoughts with her. Sitting in my office now alone, I decided to distract myself for a moment with the pile of paperwork on my desk. As I shifted through the paperwork, I came across the inv
