I raised my phone towards Zac, gesturing for him to take a look at the divorce agreement. "Don't forget to sign it. Let's part on good terms," I said.

He turned to me, disbelief mingled with anger in his expression. "Samantha, you really want a divorce?"

I smiled at him. "You have to ask? If it weren't for me lying here, I would've already rushed to the lawyer’s office."

Zac stood frozen in place. His throat moved repeatedly, and his voice came out hoarse. "Samantha, please don't talk to me like this.

"You ruined the press conference, so I guess we're even now," he continued. "Can we move on from here?"

The bright lights revealed his pale face and the loss in his eyes. Zac's demeanor had left me puzzled. It was he who had first destroyed this relationship, the one who abandoned me.
