I looked at the guy in front of me. Time check, it’s just 10 AM in the morning. It’s been I don’t know since time had passed pretty quickly. Brye is eating in front of me, reading his textbook. This morning, he knocked on my door, urgently asking me if I could accompany him today, to something that he needed to go to. Then now I’m here at a café near his university, there are some people that I could see earlier that spare us a glance after seeing him. I rolled my eyes at Brye, “you know my class starts later at 2 PM, right?” I raised a brow at him and he replies by raising both his eyebrows at me. “Yeah, I know, you told me before you slept last night” he replies, not even looking at me. I rolled my eyes for the nth time. Grabbing my sheets from my bag and place them on the table and start to review the lessons that we had for the past few days. “Karlos invited us to dinner. His restaurant has a new branch and he called me and asked if we can be there” Brye muttered after sipping his
“So, there’s nothing going on between you and Lim? Are you sure?” Ally rambled while we walked around the campus. It was break time and we have a long-vacant time, so we chose to go somewhere peaceful to study and mainly, to gossip about things. “Yeah, I mean, do we look like we’re dating? I don’t see him that way eh” I frowned at her. Ally looked at me, her eyes filled with confusion, “sure ka ba? Baka you’re misinterpreting lang?” she asks once again as if making sure that I am firm with what I was saying, and I nodded again, still frowning at her. I hear Ally sigh, “sabagay, his family is a bit strict and conservative and traditional, and strict” She frowned. I turn my bag in front of me, taking out the snacks I shoved my bag this morning before I left the house. “I think I heard that once, di ko lang maalala kung kanino and where, pero, is it that bad?” I asked her, my curiosity eating me up. “Hmm? It’s what I heard from Mika eh” Ally takes a piece and munches on it while we contin
“Don’t mind these people, I don’t mind waiting” he mumbled beside me while wiggling his brows. “Can we go now? I’m hungry na” I hear the girl whine while taking a turn to go to the passenger seat. Brye’s sigh made me look at him and he pressed the lock button, making the car beep. “What now Aki?” she frowns, “sit with Faustino, that seat is taken” he bluntly and plainly told her before pulling me with him to the passenger seat and pressing the unlock button, and opening the car door. I silently followed him, sensing the different mood he had as soon as we got closer to his friends, I guess. I got in before taking a peek on the rear mirror seeing that the other two guys were looking at me as if checking me out. Then, as everyone got inside, Brye began driving, “so, where are we going to eat and discuss this shit?” the guy with clean-cut hair muttered, breaking the silence. “At Aki’s house, of course, we can just order take-out” the girl butts in, “no one’s going to my house, someplace
Then, time passed by. It was the weekend, and I visited home. I had my phone on silent but by the looks of it, each minute that passes, it lights up with a message. I look at my phone in my hands only to roll my eyes at it. Brye has been bombing my phone with messages and he won’t stop obviously until he gets the reply that he wants. For the rest of the drive, I was only looking outside while listening to music. It felt weird. The ride felt weird for some reason. For hours, we reached the familiar road where I grew up. Familiar shops and the path that led me closer to the house where I grew up. ‘Where I became the youngest housewife’. A small smile broke out on my face and the driver took turns according to my instructions until we stopped in front of our neighborhood, in front of our house. I paid the driver before getting out with my bag. I smiled at our dogs who welcomed me happily. Wagging their tails happily and barking like crazy at the sight of one of their owners. I greeted t
“Bisita po ako ulit kapag hindi busy sa school, magttext nalang po ako if ever” I told my parents before bidding them goodbye. I got inside the taxi along with a few things I got from my old things. I waved bye inside and the driver drove to my university. Since if I estimate the time right, I’ll arrive before my first class starts, at one. I looked outside, resting my arm beside the window, and my cheek rested on my knuckles while I try not to sleep. My phone lights up with a message notification. Luke: Karylle is free tomorrow, Are you free? I stared at it, thinking of my schedule. Thinking whether should I go or not, and come up with an excuse. I roll my eyes at the end. ‘I mean, I miss Karylle, but I’m kinda lazy but it’s been years as well’. I frown while looking out before letting out a sigh. Liana: I’m always free before class, siguro mga before 11? Luke: Sabihin ko sakanya, dadaanan nalang naming ikaw para less hassle, may malapit naman na mall sayo diba, doon nalang tay
Luke knocked on my door early in the morning. He was alone, much to my expectation. “Gago bakit di ka pa gising, kala ko gising ka na” he nagged while making himself comfortable on the couch. “Ang aga mo naman, very nakakapanibago” I muttered, turning to the bathroom to wash my face. “Anong oras na kaya, nine na ng umaga nakahiga ka pa rin” he adds while typing on his phone. “Maaga pa kaya yon” I grumbled, walking out and going to the kitchen to cook myself breakfast. I cooked a quick breakfast snack knowing that I’ll be eating again outside since I’m having lunch with Karylle and Luke. “Asan na daw ba siya?” I asked, slumping down on Luke, laying on his lap. “Di ba kayo nagchchat? Sakin ka nagtatanong” he frowns at me. “Ewan ko, one day, di ko na mahanap yung account niya on my phone eh, and I don’t want to reach out using my accounts, it seemed off to me” I roll my eyes at him. “Magkagalit ba kayo mga gaga” he looks at me confused. “Ewan ko nga diba, bakit baa ko yung tinatanong m
“So, are you hungry?” I flinched, immediately turning to my side to see Brye walking beside me. I abruptly stopped walking to look at him in confusion. “What? You’re seriously hungry? We can have drive-thru” he tells me, stopping his tracks as well. “I, I told you I can manage, right? And you didn’t have to wait for me” I tell him. “You did, but I didn’t agree so I waited at the food place beside, I was seated outside and I see you well from the glass, so” he shrugs. “That’s seriously stalking Brye” I frown, I held his wrist to continue walking with him. “Yeah, what you gonna do? Tell me to the police?” he gives me sass, and I roll my eyes playfully. “Whatever, at least tell me next time, muntik na kitang sapakin sana kanina eh, buti nalang nakilala kita agad” I chuckled and we reached the parking lot. He opens the door for me again, “but seriously, you’re not gutom? We can grab something on the way” he tells me, standing outside of the opened passenger seat. Before I could answer him
I knocked on his Brye’s unit. It was I think eleven in the evening. It was thirty minutes ago when I woke and I went down to the near convenience store first to buy something before going here. Brye opened the door after a few seconds of my non-stop knocking. He frowned at me, blinking at the weird knocks I gave his door. “That has to be the most psychotic knock I had ever encountered” he opens the door wider for me to enter his unit. His unit looked, too plain. I let my eyes roam around while I hear the door closing behind me. I look at him, “what?” he asks me, “You didn’t design things around?” I shrug while looking at him. He only hums while shaking his head. His eyes went to my hands where a big plastic bag is hung. “What’s that?” he tells me. It was my turn to hum before getting myself comfortable. I went to his kitchen counter and placed the bags down a clinking sound echoes around. He squints his eyes at me, “I figured since gagawa tayo ng cookies, it will be nice if we have s
