Chapter four

Dean stood up and walked himself out of the ward as he didn't want to bother the patient.

"Hello, I received your note," Dean answered the call with an infuriated voice regardless of who he was.

"Yeah." Eduardo gave attention to how he sounded and noticed that he was very angry with him, so he hesitated and took a profound breath.

"Do you have any other speciality you need me to give attention to?" Dean asked and this time, he spoke calmly.

"No, not really, I'll like to know if....erm." He stuttered for a moment and asked,

"Are you taking off the hospital this night?"

"No, I'm going nowhere, I'll stay around till she gets better. For God's sake, Eduardo, I didn't discover any information about her. Who am I leaving her for?" Dean replied offensively.

"It's alright Dean..., just do whatever you think is acceptable," Eduardo said and disconnected.

Dean dropped the phone and went back to the ward to look after her.

Seven hours has gone and yet she was motionless in a coma, then Dean became uneasy, so he got up from the couch and went near to the bed.

As he leaned by the wall, he saw her move her hand and was toiling to open her eye, so he quickly called the doctor.

"Doctor! Doctor!"

Doctor Elvis hurried in, walking closer to the bed, he tilted his head and said,

"Miss, please relax, how are you feeling?" Doctor Elvis asked.

"I am fine... Can someone tell me what's going on? What am I doing in the hospital?" She was stunned to see herself lying on a sick bed in a hospital with some unknown individual around her. So she desired to ask all the questions running through her head at a stretch but the doctor interrupted her.

"As I said earlier, just calm down, you're in safe hands, you were involved in an accident but you will be fine." Hearing what the doctor said, she relaxed back, and then he removed his stethoscope and examined her heart rate.

Dean was very comfortable seeing that the innocent girl has finally woken up and he knew that she was going to be hungry by then, so he picked up his phone and placed an order for a well-prepared meal, from one of the best cafeterias in the city.

The doctor left the ward immediately after he was done with her.

"Who are you? What is the name of this place? And can you please tell me what happened?" She asked.

Just before Dean dropped his phone, he heard her asking him a series of questions which made him realise that the doctor has gone out of the ward. Then he walked closer to the bed and said,

"Hi," He greeted but she kept silent.

"Are you better now?" Dean asked and she answered,

"Yes, I'm fine now, Can you tell me what I desire to hear from you?" Instantly she questioned him again.

Thinking that he was the person who knocked her down with his car, she eyed him perilously and if her eyes were to be an arrow she would shoot him dead right there with no delay.

"Hey, just calm down, I'll explain everything, Okay?" Dean asked and sitting down beside the bed, he continued,

"Actually, I'm not the person who knocked you down, I'm just being a good Samaritan, so don't bother yourself in any way, If you want anything just let me know." Dean paused and looked at her, then he discovered that the hazardous look in her eyes had turned to moist.

"You don't have answers to my questions... So you're not the person that hurt me."

She said while trying to sit up from the bed, the moment she sat down, she continued,

"Okay, what's your name?" She asked staring at him.

"Oh, Dean." He told her his name without delay and reshuffled his hair.

"Dean... Not bad." She face-palmed and mentioned his name in an intense voice.

She was doing that and unexpectedly she remembered everything. When she ran out of the house, she tried to cross the road and then the blue Lexus car hit her, taking a deep breath, she said,

"Oh, now I remember what happened." She nodded and started telling Dean what happened.

"I'm Cindy,"

"Okay," Dean responded.

"I was...erm," She cleared her throat and continued, "Actually I was running away from the beast who called himself my uncle when I mistakenly ran into a blue-coloured car." She stopped and looked at him.

"Yes..., Cindy that's... Erm, that's when I stepped in." Dean wanted to inform her that it was his boss's car that hit her down but he decided to keep it secret and the moment he said that, someone knocked at the door.

"Come in," Dean answered and the door opened, so the delivery guy from the restaurant entered the room and delivered a well-packaged meal in a beautiful small carton, immediately, he handed it over to Dean and left.

Dean went to her side and dropped it on a small server that was close to her.

Doing that he said, "So from what You explained, you left home in a hurry and you must be famished by now, so eat something."

She was very hungry and couldn't wait any longer, so she went ahead and opened the package, at first she thought it was snacks, but she was happy to see that it was a well-prepared meal and Juice.

Dean wanted to leave the moment he saw her opening the package so that she would eat her food comfortably.

As he looked at her before leaving, he saw her face covered with a smile, so he was happy to see that she liked it. Sweeping the door open, she quickly stopped him.

"Please wait..., wait!" Cindy called out holding her forehead as she felt her head spinning and he halted, so gently he stepped back to know what she wanted.

"You bought this for me?" She asked.

"Yeah, you need it, Cindy." He paused for a moment reshuffled his hair and continued, "I mean you have been lying down here for hours and now you're up, you're still on medication, so I think you need it." Dean said.

"You know What?" Cindy asked.

"What?" Dean asked with wild opened eyes.

"I've never been treated this nice ever since my parent died, you are a nice and caring guy." She took a couple of breaths hung her head low and said, "Thank you so... so much."

"It's nothing Cindy, just eat your food it's gonna get cold, okay?" He asked while smiling and made some steps to leave, but he heard her talking to him again.

"You don't have to leave, I think I'm okay with you staying back, it's fine with me."

He turned and answered, "That's alright... if you say so I"ll sit over there."

"No..., I dislike eating alone, the meal is much and I can't finish it." Saying that she removed the meal and served him.

She knew he was not going to collect it but she insisted that he must eat, so she calmly spoke to him to convince him.

"You have been here taking care of me and I know you must be hungry too, please Dean." She pleaded with him, so he collected the meal from her and she was very happy, she smiled at him and started eating.

After some hours she finished eating, Dean went to the doctor's office to find out when he was going to discharge her from the hospital.

Reaching the doctor's office, he knocked at the door.

"Come in." Doctor Elvis said and he opened the door and walked in,

"Hey, how is she?" Doctor Elvis asked.

"She's fine, I want to know when she'll be discharged." Saying that he placed his hand on one of the chairs.

"Oh..., Please sit down."

The doctor said and Dean sat on one of the chairs opposite him, then he continued, "As you can see Dean, her body is responding to the treatment and there's no need to keep her here, after ministering the last injection in two hours, she will be discharged." Saying that he leaned back on his chair and stared at the file on his table.

"That's okay, I have to talk to her now, thank you, Doctor." He said and left the Doctor's office.

He went back to the ward and the moment he entered the ward, he found no one.

'Where could she be? Let it not be what I am thinking.' He thought that she left the hospital when he went to see the doctor and he had no information about her, so he held his head with his two hands and was about to sit on the chair when he heard the sound of a running tap coming from the washroom,

"Oh..., thank God she's still here." He said and calmed his nerves, rubbing his hand on his chest he said,

"If there's no good account of everything, Eduardo won't be happy." Saying that he took a deep breath.

Coming out of the Washroom, "Oh... you are here, what did the doctor say?" Cindy asked.

"Yes, you'll be discharged in two hours." Saying that he nodded and flashed a satisfied smile, and then she pressed her lips into a thin line which showed her dimple. Immediately after she sat down Dean started chatting with her.

"We've been here for some hours and you never let out any information about yourself nor relative, neither have you said anything about friends too," He leaned by the wall and said,
