Mr and Mrs Smith, my foster parents, and their awesome kids, Jayla and Mella, were such excellent people and a family to me which I never had; my stay with them was such a wonderful and pleasant one which I had always prayed and wished for since my parents left me at that very tender age I was, leaving me to my fate in life to God knows where. All alone.
The thought of losing them has now become a very terrifying nightmare for me, and finding myself in this godforsaken place had become the worst of them all, abandoning me in shambles.
The rustling of leaves and chirping of the night birds left me even more devastated. All hope was lost, no one to come to my aid, neither could I help myself. I wished I could.
Life has become so cruel to me that I wished I could just put an end to it all right now..
I carefully looked around, searching for what I could help myself with but found none. The gulch was empty, totally dry of any aid.
"What a cruel world!" I cried out, reminiscing all my experiences as a young girl. "Is this how I'm going to end it all, after all…?" I asked fate softly, tears streaming down my cheeks. I felt like my world was shattering right before me.. "what an end..!" I concluded, giving up on life itself as I shut my eyes, heaved a sigh as I stared upwards, looking at the wide and open roof of the gulch above me, welcoming whatsoever it was that fate had to offer me.
I was weak.
I was tired.
I was drained.
Completely drained.
No strength.
Not even a little as a drop of water.
After some moments of torturing my mind, a deep sleep overpowered me.

"Would you mind me helping you out?" A soft voice spoke, its words felt relieving.
As if my prayers were already answered, I opened my groggy eyes, gradually, but saw no one. It felt so much like a dream that I had to ignore and returned back to finding solace in the gulch which I'd found myself, ravaged.
After a short while of deep sleep again, the voice came calling again... "Irisha.. would you mind me helping out here..?" It asked for the second time.
"Someone just called my name…" I heard myself say, muttering under my breath with my partly opened eyes, my head still relaxed in it's position.
Then suddenly, a sharp chirp pierced my eardrums like an insect flew in one of my ears, clapping its wings, making me so uncomfortable. I couldn't have ignored such. I got up energetically like I just had some bottles of boost, my eyes now popped. My entire body was looking so scruffy.
This time I had to pay attention to be sure.
"I just hope this wild beast isn't back for me again like he promised." Fear and tension gripped me as sweaty gush flushed my face.
I instantly felt a thick hand clamping on my upper arm, snatching me away from the ditch, hurling me to an unexpected destination which looked more like a totally different area to me.
I quickly got up, glanced around and noticed the changes were evident. I had no time to see who it was.
"Who could that be..? Or.. could he be my guardian angel, sent to me for help..?" I asked, rhetorically, wondering who it was.
Imagine me, a teenage girl of 15 who has got to do everything on her own now, all alone.. with no father.. no mother.. and not even a sibling, nor even a single relative to get me going.
Tears streamed from my eyes…
The woods was the closest place I could make my home now, as there was not even a single house around as I glanced.
I couldn't cry enough.
I summoned up some courage, walked in, gathered some sticks as much as I could, and created a little home for myself. And then, I watched how the day went down.
My first night in that home was something else…
The fear of the unknown.
My worst nightmare came lurking around, though like a whirlwind, as it blew across the roof of my tent, hovering around and howling like a wounded lion. My tent jerked at each move of the wind, trying to sweep it away completely. I wondered what it wanted from me.
Thank goodness it didn't.
In a short while, it went off, like a thicker wind blew it away.
I was left in a state of turmoil, as part of my home was now destroyed.
One thing I've always been lucky with, is that I always find joy at last. But right now, I doubt if that same grace is still going to intervene in this.
******
The next day was a rainy one all through.. everywhere was so messy and mashy, that I had to hide in my partly destroyed tent all day.. until it stopped to rain later in the early hours of the evening.
Now it was time for me to go get some dinner for myself since I couldn't go out to get some food earlier for breakfast, nor for lunch.
I walked around, trying to gather some fresh vegetables from the other ends of the woods for my dinner, searching and hoping I would also find some other edibles for my breakfast the following morning as well. Thankfully enough, I was lucky to get some fresh wild plumps, different berries, and of course some hardy kiwi.
Smiles plastered my face.
My heart raced endlessly in joy as I knew I wasn't going to sleep hungry like I did the previous night.
I went back to my little home, seated and began to devour the fruits and vegetables raw. I felt bad but I was happy I was making a successful progress under my own steam. That kept me going.
Few minutes into my dinner, I began to hear footsteps squirming towards my tent. I paused, trying to make sure I heard rightly, until I saw someone hiding behind a big, dead wood, standing with almost no leaves attached to its stems as I took a quick glance up it. I hopped up, dropped the fruit in my hand, and picked up a dead branch of wood very close to me.
Now I had to be strong and brace up to whatever that came to haunt me in my little abode.
"Hey you, trespasser.. come on.. I said come on.. and let me show you the stuff I'm made off!" I screamed, still holding my defense mechanism, awaiting any attack.
Obviously, he didn't hear me.
I could tell that hunger, coupled with anger had come to play in me. Maybe not. So I thought.
I slowly walked closer, and quickly clobbed at the person behind.
"O-oh-oh.. w-wwwhat d-di-did you just do..? Jeeezzz…wwwhat was that…?" A young girl screamed, stuttering seriously as she flinched. "Are you okay..? I mean.. wh-wha-.. I mean, what rubbish did you just do… ? What was that forrr…? Or… am I trespassing..?" She asked, too many questions at a time.
I froze at her questions.
Which was I to answer first?
Tension crept in as I thought I had gotten her badly injured.
Her arms spread open as freit took over, but she was kind of strong enough to face me in a snap.
"Oh my God…!!! Please, I'm so so sorry… I never knew it was.. oh my goodness… I'm so s-s-or-!" I stuttered, not knowing what to address her as.
"Would you keep your crap shut?!" She ordered. "How dare you act in that manner towards me, and now you have the guts to talk back at me…? How dare you.. you Id!ot?!" She vibrated, paused and twirled her finger around my arm.
I kept my calm, knowing I was in a strange land, and anything could happen. After all, I didn't have anyone to fight for me.
She walked closer,
"Oh, oh, oh… I see… So you're that rogue that has been disturbing the peace of this peaceful Blessed Moon Pack, right…?" She asked, rubbing her palms against each other.
Now I could smell rage boiling in her, both in tone and in actions. Her eyes burned with mixed emotions and I got confused on how to go about it.
My words got stuck in my throat, I just gazed.
"A rogue..? No no no no noooo.. I-I-I'm not a r-rogue…" I quickly replied fumbling, as if I knew who or what a rogue was. "Please.. kindly forgive me, I'm so sorry…" I implored. My apologies kept spilling out from my mouth unending at the thought of that 'rogue', trying to explain myself. Suddenly, two other guys came out from nowhere, held me from behind and was just about rough handling me when a voice spoke, "Let her go!" I squirmed, trying to see who it was, but saw no one. They didn't let me. It didn't seem like that was going to be possible as their clasps on my arms were tightly fixed. "I said, release her… Right now! And I mean, now…!" Now the voice was close, I wheeled my head since that was the only part of me I could turn. It was that same girl. They quickly obeyed and pushed me against an erect but dead tree.I screeched. Not really because I was hurt, but because I felt I was going to die. I felt no pain of any sort.My upper lip tore open a bit by the side, with on
Few years down the line, now fully acclimatized with this new home environment of mine, I've now become a full grown teenager, almost leaving that stage for the life of adulthood.17years of age. The day was gradually going down and it became cold.. the type of coldness that reached into my bones, as if my heart was a door left wide open to the icy wind, slamming only to open again. The only thing to do was to keep being covered, as frost grew over the windows even as the duvet kept me warm a bit. I watched the ice-crystals grow and glow in the almost dark sky for a while, allowing my brain to be empty of any kind of worry, content to exist and be. "The morning would bring the beauty of the ice for sure, that crunch under boot and the bold greeting cold air brings." I encouraged myself as I watched the evening sun cast long shadows on the ground. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky.Gradually, all faded, and before I could process and understand
Right from my reverie, my eyes shot open! "W-what t-th-, um-mm why did you strike me that hard..? Don't you know it hurts..? What did I do…?" I bawled out! "Woo.. woo…That's indeed a great standpoint! But h-h-old on… girl… What were you thinking about, staring into oblivion, looking all lost and drained?" She shoved her hand into her mini bag, "here, just take a good look at yourself, you've automatically developed hollow eyes! See yourself..? Take, take a look!" She brought out a little mirror, and stretched it to me. "Well, I'm done buying the snacks. Here, take." She handed over to me, the fancy polythene wrapper in her other hand. My acceptance was quite poor, not knowing what exactly was inside the bag, neither was her face looking bright as she released it out. I opened it partly, and saw it was a crispy sweet Danish pastry with a filling of apple and raspberry. The aroma was supposed to be heavenly, yet I didn't notice. "I was only trying to inform you that it's almost t
I recalled I never asked Belletta what she meant by that word, 'rogue'. Though I had a little idea about it, but needed to know more. I had to ask. "You just called me a rogue. Sorry, please, who's a rogue, and why did you call me that?" Confusion drenched me this time. Funnily enough, he lulled. I wondered what he was thinking. Maybe that question was quite strange or funny to him as it's believed that all must know about that in the pack. "Okay, just come with me, let's get out of here first." He said, holding my hand, but I pulled it back. I was worried, terribly worried, and I had no idea what was going on and who he was; but all I needed at that time was help to find my way out of that forest. I followed immediately. He took me into his hut, there I met some others, one male and two females. They looked quite friendly, but I didn't really need to trust them right now. "This is our secret, little space; a place we cal-" he paused as he pointed at the others, and conti
"A werewolf hybrid…? A different specie…? How? Why? How possible is that, and how come no one ever told me that? But I've been living a normal life since but werewolves don't… right..?" Questions Questions Questions My head exploded like a bomb was blasted in there. "Hey Irisha," I snapped as Lili called me. "You know what, just be calm, you'll get to know more about yourself soon; it's not something you're going to learn about in just a single day. Okay?" She said, as she came back to me again, and helped me out from the ground. "You're going to be fine. Okay?" She said, nodding her head. I was just there, imagining how my new life was going to be, my mind racing to different directions. A soft tap came on my skin, and I jerked back to normal. "Now it's time to get a new look for you; you need to freshen up, you're not looking nice like this." Lili suggested, as if she was looking dazzling herself. I admit, I was dirty. Walking a few metres away from me, to somet
It felt like the earth was going to open up and swallow us up. I flinched and wailed as I twisted to my side; just by the same right side I saw nothing initially. It was a scary looking and roughly dressed, quite aged woman. Her hair was black, with stripes of white patches on it. Its length was almost touching her calf. I looked at the two guys who brought me here, but from their facial expressions, I didn't need anyone to tell me that they were excited to see her. "Move over here!" The woman commanded, making an eerie sound. Her set of teeth was jam-packed as she opened her mouth to speak; the color was so horrible and spooky. I pondered on how the smell of that mouth would be like with those teeth and black tongue in there. Grouchy! Hesitantly, I took a step but froze afterwards, thinking of what to do next. That place was off, I swear! I glared around, then ran off to meet Beta Bachrill. OMG!!! "Please, what's this for? Who's she..? And why is she asking me to com
Having an identity gives one that sense of belonging about where he's from, and knowing about your identity is another. Two important combinations! I was supposed to be scared right now, but you know what, I wasn't. Surprised..? That's because I know I now have a family who accepts me as one of them, knowing they're all werewolves. "But this pack, isn't she supposed to have an Alpha?" I wondered, still in the arms of Beta Bachrill. "Calm down Irisha, you'll soon find that out too." Gamma Sly said, and I pulled myself out of Beta Bachrill's arms, and gave a swift look at him. "How did you do that? How did you know what I was saying?" I asked, looking so surprised. "Mindlink, Irisha. Mindlink." Beta Bachrill replied. "You too..? You can actually do that too?" "Of course, I can too. I actually heard you but didn't want to talk about that yet, so I kept mute." "Wow! Would also love to know how too, since I'm one of you." "Sure… just listen, and you'll hear. That's all
Gamma Sly was living close to the border of his pack, the boundary between the two packs, the Blessed Moon Pack where Alpha Rocksmire was living, and the Grey Moon Pack where Beta Bachrill was living. Hence the quick perception of my scent. So I thought though. Very far away from the happenings of my environment, I felt a soft edge like that of an apex, dangling on me, and tickling my thighs. I hopped from my lying spot, slapping away whatever it was. I never knew my gown was far raised above my knees. "Would you get the fuck up?" A masculine voice spoke, his words were accompanied by a penetrating whop with a horse whip. I clamored… holding my left thigh where it struck. "Now get inside!" He pulled a fairly young girl out from the corner I couldn't see, and hauled her into the cage as he quickly opened and closed it. Her face wasn't clear to me because she came in facing down, and the darkness of the open place didn't help either, and she ended up on the hard, steel floor on
