Chapter 2

*Anusha Pov*

"Bhai! Help me here." I asked, frowning at him trying to not let the files fall down, but he is engrossed in his phone call.

"Wait! I am trying to get my Ex to leave me." He replied with an irritated tone while I glared at him.

We both were already late for this meeting and Dad will kill both of us if we don't enter inside this minute. But this brother of mine is not even opening the door and to top of that talking to his Ex.

"Here!" I heard a voice and saw someone holding the door.

I glanced at the person whispering, "Thanks!" while he completely opened the door to which he gave a smile and I smiled back.

"Mr. Satvik Kolgha! How nice of you." I heard Bhai's voice and turned to see his face filled with amusement.

"Bhai!" I whispered glaring at him.

"Your sister?" the man asked, gesturing me to Bhai with a frown after which he walked inside but kept the door opened.

After Bhai and I walked inside, I saw that the man is sitting with Mr. Sumit Kolgha and his son Jatin. Then I remembered what Bhai called the man, making me realize he is the rival.

"Got it?" Bhai asked, looking at my face and I nodded feeling sad.

"Why is the rival so handsome?" I whispered making him gag.

"I need to give you another class about boys." He mumbled, shaking his head and I chuckled but calmed down when Dad sent a pointed look towards us.

"Just like you he doesn't attend much, but seems like you got the fortune of meeting all the rivals." Bhai whispered sitting beside me.

"You men and your rivals." I mumbled, shaking my head.

"Please! Don't involve me with them. I have other worries than to think about them." He snorted, making me raise my eyebrow.

"Like your Exes!" I pointed out and he smirked nodding.

"Now, can we start the meeting?" I heard a disapproving tone and glanced up to meet Mr. Sumit's gaze who is definitely not my fan.

And with that, the meeting started while I tried to take out as much information as I can to use it for persuasion, but then I glanced away from the projector to see the person who looks like he wants to be anywhere but here.

The Satvik! I repeated his name in my head and as if feeling my gaze, he glanced at me but I immediately turned away.

At that moment I felt lucky to be in a dark room because of which he or anyone wouldn't have been able to see my blush at being nearly caught.

Still not getting a decent lesson of not to stare, I glanced at him, but my eyes met his back and we both sat frozen.

"Anusha!" my Dad's voice broke our gaze and I turned to see Dad looking at me expectantly and I just understood I need to talk.

As I already noted down a few points, I talked to them about that looking at the client presenting the best way I can remembering Bhai's presentation.

I sighed in relief when Dad gave a nod of acknowledgement and smirked when Kolgha's didn't say anything. I turned to see Mr. Sumit and Mr. Jatin glancing at Satvik but he didn't say anything.

And hence, we got the contract making my Dad kind of even show his joy to them. Bhai and I kept silent but we know Dad was doing enough show for us.

I glanced at the other team to see them keep on looking at Satvik with blame-filled eyes. I felt bad but didn't say anything.

"Dad shouldn't have done that." I mumbled to Bhai, when we both waited for the elevator while Dad and others stayed back to talk to the client to keep up the presence.

"Oh please! If they had won, then those three would have behaved like that against us. At least we both didn't join Dad." He pointed out and I sighed, nodding before gesturing him to hold the files, but he just whistled walking inside the elevator taking out his phone, and started typing something.

"I wouldn't have joined them." I heard a whisper and a presence behind me.

I rushed inside the elevator and turned around to see Satvik standing there looking at me and then gave a smile to which I smiled back.

"Want to get in, Mr. Satvik Kolgha?" Bhai asked, realizing we are not alone.

"How nice of you!" that's all he said but didn't step in and the doors slowly closed while he gave me a last glance.

"Did he just mocked me?" Bhai asked, looking at me in shock.

"Why so surprised?" I asked him back grinning.

"Because he always stays quiet not saying anything whenever I tease him." He replied shrugging.

"I am glad he gave you back." I said, smirking to which he gasped.

"What a sister you are? Feeling happy at the humiliation of your brother." He mumbled shaking his head.

"What is the use of a brother when he can't even hold the files as a help for his sister?" I asked using his dramatics and he immediately took all the files from me grumbling.

"Now, you are such a sweet brother. And he was very rude to mock you." I said with a serious expression to which he glared at me but we both burst out laughing.

"Let's go and have a party." He offered making me frown.

"Last time we had one when we lost a deal." I pointed out stepping out of the elevator.

"That was because I wanted to skip away from Dad's lecture." He mumbled making me sigh.

"Let's go then." I said, nodding and he dumped the files inside his car but immediately his phone rang.

"Ex?" I asked and he nodded, giving a guilty expression before moving away showing me five fingers.

I sighed and leaned back on the door waiting for him, but stood straight when I felt someone walking this side.

I glanced up only to smile looking at the person and he smiled back whispering, "Ms. Anusha Bindla!"

"Mr. Satvik Kolgha!" I whispered back.

"Only Satvik!" he corrected me.

"Only Anusha!" I corrected back.

We both gave each other a nod before he walked off towards a parked car but I didn't look away. However, I definitely blushed when he waved at me before driving off.

"What happened to you now?" Bhai asked, reaching near me.

"I am thinking what will happen when a girl will make you speechless." I replied, remembering how I felt whenever Satvik stood near me.

"Never!" he said with a confident look.

"Never say never, Bhai." I said, smirking, and got into his car still thinking about this interesting encounter.

*Satvik Pov*

Dad and Bhai didn't utter any single word during the whole day at work, but the moment we walked into the house, Dad threw his bag on the couch.

"What were you thinking, Satvik? Do you know how important today's client was?" he asked looking at me.

"I couldn't come up with new ideas." I simply replied.

Yeah! That's the case, but the reason behind that would be some interesting girl. But why interesting? I didn't even talk to her and I don't even know her. Still, it somehow felt interesting.

I was brought out of my thoughts when Dad continued to scold me which I finished saying, "You can't praise Bhai, when we get a deal and can't scold me when we lose one."

"Satvik! You think I am favoring your brother?" he asked with a shocked expression and everyone looked at me in shock.

"No! I am just disturbed." I replied, shaking my head to which he sighed.

"Don't be upset! There will be another deal and we will show those Bindla's what are we made of." He assured patting my shoulder.

"Lost to them?" Bhabhi asked with a shocked look and winced when everyone looked at her.

"All of you freshen up, we will have dinner." Mom said, gesturing her immediately saving Bhabhi from her slip.

That day we all had a silent dinner and everyone walked off to their rooms while I sat in the garden lost in my thoughts.

"Upset?" Mom's voice reached me and she sat beside me.

"Actually, no!" I replied honestly.

"Why? You always feel upset when he talks like that, right?" she asked smiling.

"Not today!" I replied, shrugging to which she chuckled.

"But I will still give my dialogue. He is just upset because you all lost the contract." She repeated her evergreen dialogue.

"He is more upset because he lost it to the rivals." I pointed out and she nodded in acceptance.

"Why should we continue such rivalry, Mom? Why don't we stop it?" I asked her frowning.

"Satvik! Now, there is peace at home and I want to have that always. If we sit and talk about the rivalry, then that peace will be disturbed and I will not like it." She replied with a serious expression.

She was very rarely this serious before me but now hearing her I can understand how against it is to even think of removing this rivalry.

Well, why does it matter to me whether there is a difference between these two families or not? I didn't think about it before and I need not think of it now. With that aim, I smiled at her nodding and we both left for our rooms.

"There you go, all my thoughts." I whispered to myself lying on the bed with a frown.

I don't even know why am I thinking this much about the issue when I know I shouldn't after seeing my Dad's reaction, and Mr. Bindla's attitude, and Mom's words.

But she has a beautiful smile! I thought, smiling to myself, and immediately shook my head to clear the image before my eyes.

Satvik! Focus on the next deal and make sure this time your mind doesn't get blocked and please next time don't think about her or her smile no matter how beautiful it is.

It is beautiful, isn't it? I asked myself smiling and immediately slapped my forehead.
