ARIEL’S POV

A devilish smirk settled on Joharres’ lips and I knew instantly that whatever he demanded, it would be a price we would be unable to pay.

“I want the moon crest. I want your head on a silver platter and I want Melvin handed over to me, hands bound in chains,” Joharres growled at me.

I just knew it! I knew his demands would be outrageous however, I kept my cool in front of him. I couldn’t let my anxiousness show or be perceived for the slightest bit.

“Impossible. None of your demands can be met as long as I am alive and breathing,” I shot back at him as calmly as possible.

“Which is why I am asking you to die. Off with your head, Ariel, what part of that don’t you get?” Joharres sneered at me. He was enjoying this.

“I see,” I nodded at him, finally coming to an already obvious realization. Although I wanted to give some benefit of the doubt, Melvin was right all along. His Father could not be reasoned with.

“Let me relay your demands to my camp then,” I said, turning around
