◼Rose POV◼
“Put me down!” I yelled.
I was having enough of Nikolas. I hated I couldn’t use my powers. I felt so vulnerable with him. Why did fate have to play us like this?
Reaching his bedroom, Nikolas throws me on the bed and straddles me.
“Let go,” I said, struggling.
My hands were over my head. He was pressing his body against mine. Gulping, I look at him. He was serious; he was making me aware of how close he was.
“You know you have been pulling my hair since the moment we met, “Nikolas said, “I think it’s time to teach you a lesson.”
“W-what? W-wait, what are you doing?” I asked.
◼Rose POV◼ I’ve been in bed the whole day; I haven’t been feeling good with myself. I never expected that my stupidity from last night would cause this. Laying in bed, I stare at myself in the mirror—the entire body mirror right in front of the bed. I laid there without moving. No noise, just silence. I couldn’t take my eyes off the mark. After I cried my ass in Nikolas’ room, I left without a word. I couldn’t be in the same place as him. I had never regretted something in my life more than this. Closing my eyes, I try to stay calm. My monster has been quiet. I wonder why. Also, my mind keeps going back to last night. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps. I regretted it. Now what I wanted to know, though, was when did he mark me? I can’t recall anything. It’s like it was all a d
◼Rose POV◼ The moment Alpha Maximus told me we had to talk, I knew something was up. This attack meant something terrible was happening or was about to. I was eager to know what it was. Following him, I signal Liam to stay behind. He knew I wouldn’t be in trouble, and Alpha Maximus wouldn’t hurt me. Following him for a while, we finally reach a safe place to talk. We had to walk for about twenty-five minutes; we were far from the palace. “So, what do you want to talk about? I guess this attack isn’t for anything,” I said, smiling. “Woman,” Alpha Maximus grunted as he grabbed me from the neck, “I thought it was pure lies, but now I can smell him on you.” Eyes wide, I understood what he w
◼Nikolas POV◼ I never expected to see Rose with wolves. Were these her doing? She was a traitor. I never will understand how fate put us together. Seeing her too close to that stupid dog had me feeling angry. She even dares to order me, but everyone got mad, even my man when I touch her. I didn’t intend to push hard, but I was so furious with her I didn’t care. “Wait, Nikolas,” Cullen called. “What?” I snap. “Whoa, chill, ok, what are you so mad about?” Cullen asked. “Didn’t you see that fucking bitch? She has something with that stinky dog. “Nikolas… Are you jealous?” Cullen asked, movin
◼Liam POV◼ When Rose left for the ball, I never expected hunters would attack her. I’ve been trying to avoid the hunters. They couldn’t know who Rose was; now they know. I know that when they see her, they will know who she is. Rose is the spitting image of her mother. The deceased queen of the Kingdom of Gaels. The Kingdom of Gaels perished decades ago, under the hands of the hunters. They killed the royal family after some spies penetrated and lived with us for several years. The reason was simple; they had come to get what Rose’s mother had. Rose was born into a family of six. Her mother, Queen Elena, her father King Eros, and her three brothers. Rose was a year old when the hunters attacked us. She barely remembers her family. Rose’s mother requested me to flee away with Rose. She
◼Liam POV◼ When I told Nikolas about us, he stood and left. I was expecting an explanation, but he just said thank you and left. There was something strange about the way he reacted that left me intrigued. He looked in, shocked but worried. He even turned paler. Now I wished to know more. It intrigued me, curious to see why he reacted that way. It left me thinking about many stuff, especially if he knew something I didn’t know about. … It’s four in the afternoon, and Rose hasn’t come back. I know she was still with Alpha Maximus. It worried me; her being around him. After all, we are supposed to be enemies with the wolves. Somehow Rose and Alpha Maximus got into an agreement. I remember
◼Nikolas POV◼ It’s been several days since Rose left. I have been working with the council to find better solutions on how to handle the hunters. Finally, Charles was back to himself. He was conscious. Still hurt, but doing better. I had asked him what happened. He had to explain how Rose took him away and what he went through. The way he talked about Rose made my judgment waver. He made her sound like a monster, something out of this world. But, I knew Rose had a temper and was just like the rumors. Ruthless, heartless, a woman feared by everyone. A true queen. Charles suggested that I end my relationship with Rose. Not to fall for her, but it was too late; I had even marked her. Everything was happening so fast I haven’t had time to
◼Rose POV◼ Since I came back, I’ve been going and coming from Alpha Maximus pack. It has intrigued me why hunters attacked. I know that everyone knows I’m mated with King Nikolas. Sadly, the fucker fucked the things up when he marked me, but as he said before, he can’t remember; neither did I. Something told me I had a lot to do the night Nikolas marked me. It confused me, but I had to recall. Alpha Maximus asked me why I got marked. I hated people asking me. Even Jordan asked me why. When I saw Jordan’s face, it hurt. I felt I betrayed him. I needed to get my mind out of that mark, so I did something I never expected to do. Ask a witch to erase the mark. The mating mark would be there, but it wouldn’t be visible. I needed to hide it,
◼Nikolas POV◼ “Anything?” I asked as I check the papers. “No sir, so far nothing,” one of my guards said. Charles is almost recovered. I told him to rest more, but he said he couldn’t. He has been insisting on working again. But the truth is he just wants to get revenge for what Rose did to him. I’ve still been trying to contact Liam, but no answer from him so far. So today, I’m heading to Rose's clan to look for him. Cullen will accompany me on behalf of Charles. It was eleven in the morning, and in an hour, we would leave. I had a bad feeling. I just couldn’t put it. Why? “Ready?” Cullen asked as he walks into my office.
