I looked at him, my savior with eyes wide in shock and my heart beating fast while I tried to wrap my head around this impossibility.

My nostrils flare as I take in more of the sweet-smelling odor.

Boris is my mate. That I knew of.

So what was the moon goddess doing here? Is this some kind of a joke? A freaking twist of fate?

I shook my head when Boris shouted, scooting away from the menacing figure of the Rogue Alpha.

“Don’t come near me,” Boris shouted.

The Rogue Alpha looked at him disgustingly, scoffing at the look he saw in Boris' eyes. The almighty Boris had turned from one big-brawny guy to a weakling right before my eyes.

“Is this what you can do? Plead so that I will spare your life?” The Rogue Alpha sneered, seeing the fear in Boris’ eyes and taking advantage of it in gloating. But his actions did not detract from the menacing aura or the killing intent in his eyes.

He stepped toward Boris in slow deliberate steps, his eyes gauging.
