I woke up, my head feeling a bit clearer than it had in months, with the way I drank last night, I was pretty certain I was gonna have a major hangover, surprisingly I didn’t. I was still fuming when Martha came in rolling a box, not just any box I noted. It was mine, my travelling box. Great, now everyone will think I’d just run off like I always do. ARIAN’S POVSHE looked like quite the sight though, without the usual privileges she usually has, her usually bone straight hair was like a birds’ nest, with a good look at what she was wearing I could already guess what it was that was upsetting her, but I kept my mouth shut and just stared at her. I liked the thought of her being miserable, I didn’t know why, but it was satisfying.“I should’ve known that he had packed clothes from my office closet, how am I supposed to walk around wearing blazers? I panted as I slipped into an alley, leaning against a building. I dialed a number I knew by heart. DEVONNE’S POVI don’t know how long I knelt there, I had the vague sense of something filling my head, my consciousness. It was all so crazy, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this much pain in my life before. There was a rushing sound filling my ears, Then all of a sudden, they were there….. all the blank spots in my memory, I was wrong, I didn’t have those blank spots because I drank too much wine. I remembered, the woman who injected me eight before I lost contact with Mela. My wolf’s name is Mela. I stood up and looked up with eyes that were not mine, a growl rippled from my throat. I was filled with anger that wasn’t entirely mine, that is until Arian stepped into my line of vision and I felt it like a blow to my stomach, A bond, confirmed by Mela’s own growl of “mate” in my head, even as his scent of Almonds assaulted my nostrils. ARIAN’S POVMY wolf won’t let me be, I mean, he always bugs me, but since Devonne’s wolf woke up, he’s been reeking claws down the walls of my mind. Literally. I groaned again for the fourth time that hour. Three days, for fucks sake, I’ve been trying to drown him out for Three days, he’s managed to keep me from bedding anyone. DEVONNE’S POV And that was how I was stuck in this clearing after my cycle ended, not the one from earlier, a different one, bigger, standing in a defensive position. I hated this, it was like training with Lucas, only this time I wasn’t in love with Arian, I loathed him. I was only here because I needed answers. When I get the answers I need. I’m out. Mate or no.
