Chapter 3

Lena’s Point Of View.

(Contract rules; Now Mine)

“Good. I will invite you over for dinner, we will talk about the contract and by the morning of tomorrow, we will get married.” As he said this, my heart skipped a bit.

“We would get married tomorrow? It’s so early, don’t we have things to plan?” I asked him and he only smirked.

“We are signing a contract, the rest of the marriage rites, I do not care about.”

“Contract rules and you are mine” he walked closer to me, touched the tip of my chin and sighed.

“That’s all for this morning, you can go to work now. Mrs Theresa, good day.” He gave a smirk then walked out.”

The moment he walked out I released the breath I didn’t know that I was holding.

Mom held me. “It’s okay baby.”

“Mom, how on earth did I get here? I'll be getting married to him tomorrow. Why does he need me, I need him to tell me why he needs to get married to me.”

“You should talk to him and find out about it." As she said this, my heart fell. I really am doing this. I will be getting married to a man I barely know."

I walked out of mom's sight and walked to my room, I didn't have the zeal to go to work, besides what would I do there?

I sat in my room for a while and I laid on the bed, why was this happening to me? It was a good thing, wasn't it?

This was the longest time I had stayed in my room, I was always at work, I was always occupied with a lot of things and I didn't have so much time to myself this was the first time, i had time to myself and it was all because I was at home and wasn't going to work anymore and it was because of that strange man Dante.

I stayed in my room and refused to come out to eat food, I think I needed the time. I stayed in my room until mom told me that Dante had sent a driver to come take me to God knows where.

"You look very pretty, Lena." Mom said and I sighed.

I do not want to look good for him, I do not want to do this. When I said nothing, she sighed,

"Lena, I know you do not love to do this, I hate to see one year of your life go by without you being happy. This is for your father's good and as much as I hate this for you, I want your father to live." She cried. I understood her.

I walked out of the house after getting a lot of comforting words from mom.

Getting out of the house, I saw a car packed in front of the house and immediately, the driver climbed out of the car and opened the door for me.

I said nothing to the man and only sat in the car and waited for him to take me to wherever he wanted to take me to.

He drove for a while and we stayed in the quietness until the car came to a halt. "We are here now." As he said that, I held onto my bag and opened the car door but it was opened before I reached for it.

As I climbed out, I met a body guard and a lady dressed in a beautiful work outfit.

"Follow me Miss, I will take you to Mr Roma. " she said and I nodded following her wherever she was going to take me to.

We walked into the very big mansion until we were in a room that looked like it was set up for meetings

“Please have your seat, Mr Roma will be here soon.” As she said this I nodded and pulled a seat out softly then sat on it.

She left me alone to sit in the big room which was filled up with empty chairs, as I sat there tapping my feet slowly on the ground, the door was finally opened and Mr Dante walked in, I wanted to stand on my feet on seeing him but I didn’t, I stood my ground and didn’t let his size intimidate me.

“You kept my driver waiting, Helena.” He didn’t raise his voice at me, it was very low, it was intense and carried a lot of authority. I gulped hard and immediately tried to peel my eyes off him.

“This will be the last time Helena.” He didn’t have to say it again, I knew it would be the last.

“We will talk about the contract before we eat.” As he said this, only then did I notice that he had a file in his hand, he walked to where the chair was and pulled it out.

“These are the contract rules. Go through them and sign them.” He placed the document on the table and moved to the other end of the tabel to pull a seat while I opened the file and started to read through it.

‘A Contract Marriage Between Helena Manchester and Dante Roma’ as I read this line, my heart sank deep because I knew that this was the beginning of hell, I was losing my free life for a year.

I started reading through the contract and most of the rules were very scary

Party B is not allowed to tell anyone of the contract, party B is not allowed to have physical contact like touching or intimacy with party A

Party B cannot leave the premises

Party B cannot make contact and is not allowed to contact anyone outside the house, not even family members. I paused while reading this.

“Why? Can I not talk to my family, how do I know if you really are keeping the other side of the deal?”

“We will keep you updated.”

“I'd need to talk to my mother.” I batted my lashes.

“We will not discuss this again.” he said and I sighed, why would he be so cruel.

Party B cannot reveal her identity, Party B must go by the name Gwendolyn Roma. As I read this I felt scared, it felt like was planning to keep me as a hostage with all his rules and he was using me.

“What do you want from me, why do you need me?” I asked, my voice shaking, I looked at this man with such demeanor and I trembled.

“You will find out as time goes on. If you want your father to be safe then sign the contract, tomorrow we will get married.” His voice was so authoritative, I was scared of him.

“Why should we get married tomorrow? What is the rush for, tell me what you want me to do!”

“Do not talk when I am talking.” He banged the desk, you have a few minutes to sign this documents else it’s over, your father would die.

“No!” I cried.

“We will get married.” I didn’t look at him as he spoke, it is safe to say that I am sacred of this man.
