Chapter Fifty Six

"Are you busy Maitta?". Trisha asked standing in the doorway of her bedroom.

Maitta glanced at her mother and shook her head. "I'm done." She said.

"Can I come in?".

"It's your house." Maitta sighed.

Trisha walked into the room, walked over to the bed and sat on the edge.

"It's been weeks Mai." Trisha said. "Are you still mad at me because I refused to let you see your dad?".

"I'm not angry. I'm not anything." She replied. "I'll look for him myself when I grow up."

Trisha chuckled. "There won't be any need for that." She told her.

Maitta scowled at her. "You won't be able to tell me what to do when I grow up. I won't let you." She protested.

"No, that's not what I meant." Trisha said. "You'll see your father tomorrow."

Maitta was surprised. "Tomorrow? Really?".

"Yes. He wants to see you." Trisha said. "He came by today but you were in school."

"Really?". Her eyes widened in excitement. "You're not playing with me, are you mommy?".
