Chapter 14

Tracey's POV

"Sir, Madam, I'm afraid that our place is temporarily closed this afternoon," the waitress said awkwardly while pointing at some people coming out of a car. "Someone has booked our venue for a birthday party."

Lucas frowned and looked around.

I smiled at the waitress and said, "Well, in that case, we'll find another waffle h... Where are you going, Lucas?"

Lucas didn't seem to hear me. He walked straight to the birthday boy's father and said, "Happy birthday!"

He took a pause and read the name on the balloons, "Nicolas, is that your son's name?"

The birthday boy's father, a man in a tramp hat, nodded his head.

Lucas said, "Great. Today is your lucky day. Go to the Park Lane Hotel and throw your son a proper birthday party. Order whatever you like in the restaurant and tell them to keep it on Lucas Plarre's tab."

"Are you a joker or something? You'd better tell me the joke right now because what you've said isn't funny." The tramp hat man looked offended.
