"What did you just say, Kianna? You're calling me a mad dog?!" Vera's anger was almost palpable, and a few classmates stepped in to restrain her.
"Wow! I didn't expect the 'mad dog' to react so quickly. How amusing!" Kia grinned, her expression as if she had just encountered an adorable kitten.
Clearly irritated, Vera picked up her tumbler as if to throw it at Kia. "You!"
Classmates rushed to her side, trying to prevent her from doing anything rash. "Calm down, Vera! Ma'am Ramos is on her way, and if you do that, you might get into trouble."
Vera reluctantly released her grip on the tumbler and took a deep breath. She sat down in her chair, seething, and muttered, "Fine! Stop touching me! Let's see if the previous professors don't reprimand you for being late..." She said this in a low voice.
"What are you talking about? Don't expect me to be scolded because I talked to our teachers and requested a leave of absence due to my unexpected marriage," Kia explained, defending herself.
Whispers filled the room. "Married?" Miaree exclaimed, surprised. "How did I not know you were married?"
"I'm sorry I didn't inform you. It all happened suddenly, and I didn't have the time to let you know. Anyway, the professors granted me three days of absence, but since I didn't have much to do, I came in today," Kia replied, taking her seat.
Her classmates immediately crowded around her, engaging in more gossip. Vera glared at Kia as her classmates encircled her.
You have no right to steal my spotlight! Kianna, you're the real antagonist in my story... How did she get married while I can't even find a boyfriend? I'm clearly superior to her! Vera thought to herself.
"Is that true, Kia? No kidding, you got married?"
"Why didn't you invite us?"
"Have you gone on your honeymoon yet, Kia?"
"Wow, is he handsome?"
"Did you see his physique? Do you think he has abs?"
"Vincent must be pretty lucky; congratulations, Kia."
As they approached Kia, the gossip grew louder and more intense.
"Thank you," Kia said, "but I didn't marry Vincent."
Everyone was taken aback, and Kia herself was quite puzzled. "But your fiancé is Vincent Rivera, right? Why isn't he the one you married?" inquired their class president.
Their classmates hurried back to their seats after three loud knocks on the door. Ma'am Ramos, their formidable teacher, entered, holding her umbrella, which she never left behind at home, come rain or shine.
"Do you have nothing better to do than gossip? Have you finished your readings? Why are you prioritizing making noise over studying your readings?!" she exclaimed while shuffling her students' index cards on the table. "All right, recitation time," Ma'am Ramos declared, reaching for one of the index cards. The peculiar expressions on everyone's faces betrayed their fear, as if they were facing an unexpected bout of diarrhea.
All the students feared Ma'am Ramos because she was also studying to become a lawyer, and she expected her students to recite as they did in law school. "Gilbuen! Explain everything on page 24," Ma'am Ramos commanded, causing Mr. Gilbuen to tremble in fear.
…
"We were fortunate that our passage was the one Ma'am Ramos called for recitation," Miaree whispered, trying to calm her nerves after her recitation. She had been the last one called.
"Kia got lucky; she was excused because she requested a leave but still came in. You really impressed Ma'am Ramos with your diligence. You might become her favorite student now," Marcy remarked.
"Wait! Who exactly did you marry, and why not Vincent? How did your family approve of it? Weren't you supposed to be engaged for the future partnership of your family companies?" Miaree fired off a barrage of questions.
"I'll fill you guys in later; let's not waste our thirty-minute break," Kia said, eyeing the two as they walked to the canteen together.
...
"What?! You married a stranger?! Aren't you worried he might have some hidden illness or be involved with drugs, or what if he did something to you?" Miaree exclaimed with concern. Kia quickly covered her friend's mouth because she had spoken a bit loudly.
"Kianna Myst! Marriage isn't a trivial matter! Why would you marry someone you barely know?! You can't just throw yourself into something like that! Who is this man?! Where is he now?! We're going to confront him!" Marc shouted angrily as she took a bite of her purchased bread.
"Calm down, guys. Nothing bad happened to us. I think he's a good person. He works for a major corporation, and he's an assistant, a very respectable individual," Kia defended her husband.
"Imperial group? That's a huge company. I've heard they have a rigorous recruitment process, and the people who make it in are top-notch; if he's an assistant, he must be highly intelligent and skilled," Marc's business knowledge was impressive, earning a smile from Kia, who then continued eating.
"I heard my dear sister got married yesterday. Congratulations!" A voice came from behind them; it was Kia's scheming stepsister, Asteria, accompanied by her friend Vera.
"Aster, marriage is a significant event; didn't she inform your family? I bet her husband is a nobody, so she managed to keep it a secret," Vera added, almost chuckling at her own speculation.
"Look who's here, a dog and its owner. Hey, you two, behave yourselves. The stench of your behavior is spreading," Kia retorted calmly.
"What did you just call me?!?" Vera screamed, hurling her can of coke at Kia.
"Watch out, Kia!" Miaree exclaimed with concern.
Kia remained composed, waiting for the can of coke to approach before evading it. Instead, it hit the person standing behind her, one of the members of the feared Redbull Gang at their university.
"B****! I'm going to beat you up!" Vera couldn't contain her anger and approached Kia. However, she was taken aback as the burly man hit by the coke can slowly rose to his feet.
"Fine, give it a try," Kia said with a smile. The man hit by Vera's can stepped forward, clearly annoyed.
Both Vera and Asteria seemed frozen and turned pale as they beheld the size of the man who could easily lift and toss them. "How dare you throw a can at me?! Come over here, and I'll show you how it feels!" The man was furious, and as his voice grew more menacing, the two became even more terrified and fled.
"I'm sorry!! We didn't mean to hit you; it was aimed at Kianna!" Asteria cried out desperately. Suddenly, an adrenaline rush propelled the two of them, and they hastily exited the canteen.
"You're amazing! You're a fantastic best friend!" Miaree exclaimed gleefully as she and Marc couldn't stop giggling at what they had witnessed.
"Did you enjoy the spectacle?" Kia asked with a laugh. "Let's finish eating quickly; it's almost time." They resumed eating.
…
"Ugh! How could he pour coke on my face?! This is so sticky!" Asteria grumbled angrily in the restroom while scrubbing her clothes to remove the mess. Vera had been chased by the burly man, and they had gone their separate ways. Asteria had hurried straight to the bathroom to clean herself up properly.
As soon as she entered the restroom, people there stared at her and began whispering. "Can someone tell me what you're all staring at?! Do you want me to pluck your eyeballs out?! Disgusting people!" Asteria shouted fiercely, causing everyone to quickly leave the restroom, leaving her alone.
"Kianna, you're really getting on my nerves! I'll make sure you pay for this! Even if you have a fiancé, you're such a flirty person who got married in a hurry. Well, you've done me a favor because now I'll have Vincent all to myself..." Asteria muttered to herself as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.
She immediately dialed Vincent Rivera's number on her phone. When he answered, there was still background noise, so Asteria pulled her phone slightly away from her ear.
"Hi, honey! Where are you right now? Why is there so much noise? Are you outside your office?" Asteria's tone suddenly shifted to that of an innocent five-year-old as she began to speak.
[What's going on, sweetheart? Weren't you satisfied with last night? Do you want to give it another go?] Vincent teased.
"Oh my gosh, stop teasing me! I just miss you. Where are you?" Asteria's cheeks flushed bright red.
[I just left the office for a walk; how about I pick you up right now? I haven't tried the office yet.]
"Sure! I'm here waiting for you, honey."
Get ready, Kianna, you're going to pay for everything! After hanging up the phone, Asteria muttered to herself.
The hotel room was bathed in the gentle morning light, with the sun's rays warming their faces as they woke up. They rubbed their sleepy eyes, greeted by a serene and sunny morning. Fluffy white clouds floated across the sky. "You know, I've spent a lot on Kia, but she won't even let me touch her hand. Not once. She's so reserved," Vincent remarked. He turned to Asteria and continued, "You, on the other hand, are much more accommodating, even allowing me to be intimate in my office." "You know me well, honey. Does that mean I'm the only one you're involved with?" Asteria asked, her curiosity piqued. Vincent was taken aback by the question. He hadn't expected Asteria to inquire about this. "Right, Vincent?" Asteria pressed, repeating her question. "Yeah, honey, you're the only one," he replied, although it wasn't entirely truthful. "In that case, I have something to ask you," she said. There was a moment of silence, during which Vincent tried to mask his nervousness with a smile.
"Kianna, I finally found you! You didn't answer my calls or texts, so I had to come here. Tell me the truth, are you married? I'm your boyfriend, your fiancé! You can't treat me like this!" He looked upset and tried to approach Kianna, but the guards stopped him. "Shut up!" Kianna shouted angrily, silencing the crowd. "Kia, what's wrong with you?" he asked nervously, wondering why Kianna was acting so arrogantly. "Don't tell me... she knows about Asteria and me. No, that's impossible! I've been keeping it a secret from her!" Vincent thought to himself. "Don't call me that! You disgust me! I blame myself for not realizing what kind of person you are," Kia said, feeling repulsed by her ex-fiancé. "You can't treat me like this! We've been together for five years! I can't believe you'd be so heartless and marry someone else soon!" he stammered, struggling to maintain eye contact with Kia. Kianna was furious. She never expected to see the person she had loved for years behave like thi
KIAThe bell rang loudly, a sign that the class was over. I grab my things and put them in my bag. Most of my classmates were rushing to go home while some were just talking and laughing, minding their own business. I was about to get up when suddenly Miaree approached me, “Kia! Wait! Are you free today? I wanted to see your new house and also your husband. Can we come over to your house?” Miaree said, twinkling her small eyes. I saw Marcy rushing towards us. Look who has an ear like wolves, “Can I come too? I’m very curious about your new home. Is it big? More extensive than your dad’s house?” he excitedly said. “Uhm— I’m sorry, but I can’t… We are too busy today to clean the house. We have a lot of things to do so maybe next time, and maybe it’s better if I let him know first before inviting you guys since it’s his house in the first place… I’m sorry…” I murmured and a fake smile formed on my lips.Their lip corners were pulled down, and misery was written all over their faces. T
KiaI'm now laying in my bed. Trying to make myself fall to sleep. But I can't stop thinking about the fact that there should be many women who have a crush on a man with an excellent appearance like Ares. I don't want to owe him, let alone to be obsessed with… besides… to fulfill the duty of a wife. We were not born yesterday, we clearly know the real duty of a wife. Gosh! I can't sleep! Suddenly I heard someone opening the door. He seems back from work. I got up and went into the living room. Seeing him sitting on the couch. It seems like he is really tired."Good…Good evening," I said, greeting him."It's getting late… Why are you still awake?""I can't sleep…" I suddenly noticed that there were pillows and blankets beside him, "Did you sleep on the sofa these last two days? Why don't you sleep in the guest room?"He scratched his head and smiled politely, "The room hasn't been occupied for a long time, and I don't have time to clean it up.""The sofa is too small for you, it mus
"How did you look like an angel even when you're sleeping?" Ares mumble while closely staring at Kia. She is sleeping peacefully. He blinked as his eyes adjusted and his eyes felt scratchy. The sun was beaming through their blinds causing Kia to stir. She slowly opened her eyes and took a glimpse of her surroundings. At that point, she saw Ares seriously staring at her. She wasn't sure about what she saw so she took a glimpse for the second time.He is really staring at me… I thought it was just a dream…She closed her eyes once again and let her sleepiness lead her body. Usually, waking up was a simple task for Kia; she was a morning person after all. She groaned when the first beam of sunlight hit her face.A minute later the clock started ringing. Ares picked up the alarm clock on their nightstand and looked at the time. "What is the time?" Kia innocently asked her husband."Hmm? Oh— it's already eight in the morning—""What?!" Kia hysterically asked and began to sit up. She put h
KIAIt is a breathtakingly beautiful day outside. The blooms and leaves on the plant are moving very slowly because there is only a slight breeze. My mind is not at ease, despite the fact that today is a rather quiet day at school. After eight of these drawn-out intervals, our mental processes have become sluggish. Particularly taxing are the times immediately after the short breaks that are provided. The last phase is something that we are looking forward to with bated breath. During class, many of us are guilty of not paying attention to what's being spoken. They are having trouble remaining seated due to their restlessness. While the peon makes his way towards the bell, the boys prepare themselves by gathering their belongings. The last bell rings, and with that, the school day has come to an end. There is an opening in the gate. The boys leave in a flurry, much like the rapid waters of a mountain torrent."Kia! Kia!" I turned my head slightly to the left and heard her soft voice b
Nate became more attentive to her, touching her face and focusing his gaze intently on her. Kia finds it to be an unsettling experience. She shoved his hand away and pushed him away from her while screaming, "Get off of me!" Stop pretending to be nice and then taking advantage of me all of a sudden. Do not lose sight of the fact that we are still in the classroom! I'm going to ask for help!"He cocked his head to look more intently at Kia before bending his neck forward. “Oh? You slutty little pig! I can't believe you have the audacity to threaten me!Kia retreated a few steps before responding, "No, I don't..." I… I had to use the restroom, if you don't mind... That being the case, the sign that was posted outside didn't bother me in the least. I'm sorry to have bothered you and forced you to witness that... There is nothing in this that interests me. And I am well aware that you are Nathan Zac Ramirez, so..." Her speech became stuttering, and all she could manage to say was a string
Kia The bus hasn't passed yet after almost an hour. I have no idea how long I have to wait. My feet no longer feel anything. The only sensation I have is pain emanating from my lower abdomen. I have to return home. When frigid air passes by, a shiver goes down my spine. Condensation is thick in the air, and the sky is reverberated by a dull roar that sounds rather like a snare drum. While leaves soar into the air, trees shiver in the chilly wind. Crystal tears fall silently to the ground as a steady mist of rain starts to fall from gloomy clouds. The sky is lit up by incandescent lightning, which is quickly followed by an audible rumble.“Great! What an unfortunate day it is!” I sighed. I need to find a way to go home now. I don’t bring an umbrella with me. If I wait here for another hour, I will be soaking wet later because of the coming rain. Maybe I will just take a taxi home.I get into a taxi and ask the driver to take me home. While on the road, he keeps on checking on me. May
