Chapter 6 ~ Miracle

                              CHAPTER 6

              •••••(Flashback continued)•••••

                      •••••Aurora's POV•••••

" I'm taking her," he informed my brother before he turned and looked at me with his cold eyes.

I bowed my head unable to look at him any longer.

" Take her to the van and put her in the prison with other slaves," he ordered to the man beside me but I felt his eyes on me while he talked to that man.

Soon I found myself being dragged towards the van by another muscular man and was harshly thrown in the back of the van.

I didn't have any idea of what to say or do as I sat in the van.

Soon the van started and we rode off the place that'll be my prison.

It wasn't like I could do or say anything to anyone.

I didn't have any choice as I sat back and looked back to the house I grew up in.

I looked back at all the memories I had with my parents.

I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that how easy was is it for my brother to just trade me for someone as dangerous as these persons.

Did he hate me that much?

Did he hate me enough that he let go of all the memories or ties we had?

                   •••••(Flashback Ends)•••••

                     •••••(Present Time)•••••

Maybe I was meant to suffer.

Maybe I wasn't meant to be happy.

Maybe that's why everyone left me because I was meant to suffer and always be alone.

After what felt like an eternity finally the car stopped in front of a huge gate.

I couldn't help but look in awe at the huge magnificent castle standing proudly in front of me.

The beautiful white bricks walls with vines surrounding and covering them and never-ending flower gardens surrounding the castle and a huge lake in front with lots of swans and ducks swimming in it without any care in the world.

It looked like it came straight from those fairytale's my mother used to tell me when I was a kid.

I wanted it.

Once I also wanted to live a fairytale life but soon reality hit me and I stopped dreaming.

Because soon I realized fairytales aren't true.

There's no happy ending in real life because there's always misery.

If fairytales were true then I wouldn't be here, my whole world wouldn't have turned upside down.

Suddenly I felt a chain tugging on my wrists making pain shoot through my arms making me stumble forward " Now move. I don't have all the time in the world" the guard barked before he continued to pull me towards the back of a dark corridor.

Unable to keep up my pace with the guard due to weakness and the dress made me stumble for the umpteenth time which probably irritated the guard as I could feel him huff angrily as I felt my body started to shake visibly and tears started to cloud my vision in fear.

Soon he threw picked me up and threw me on the hard cold cement floor like a sack of potatoes.

A huge sob escapes my lips as soon as I landed on the ground.

Suddenly a hand grabbed me by the hair and tilted my head upward.

The guard laughed at my pathetic state before he slammed my head angrily on the wall.

" Is little Luna crying? Did you think that we'd bow down to you and will treat you properly and pamper you as you have been in your pack? Huh?" he spat as I tried to scoot back to the wall.

" You excuse of a mate kidnapped people from your kind and sold them to god know who. Yet you didn't stop him because maybe you were too busy getting pampered that you didn't care about anything. You and your mate are disgraced on the world. Let's just see how long you last here human " he continued and laughed maliciously before he threw foul words on her and walked out of the cell and locked it.

Did they think that I enjoyed living there?

I don't even know about what the alpha Stephen did.

He never treated me like a mate.

Hell, I don't even think that he was one.

Mates are supposed to love you, protect you, take care of you not make you a slave and beat the hell out of you.

I want to shout at the top of my lungs to the whole world to hear that he isn't my mate but I can't because  I don't have any energy to do that.

My eyes begin to sting as I let my tears fall and started to cry.

It was clear that no one cared about me or needed me.

Slowly I laid on the cold floor and soon my vision started to blur and my head turned heavy due to that smack and I fell into a slumber while sobbing.

                    •••••(A few hours later)•••••

The moment I open my eyes I felt the pounding headache making it difficult for me to properly look around.

My throat felt dry.

I couldn't see anything properly as it was dark.

I moved my hands around the cold cemented floor in the dark to feel anything or a pot of water but couldn't find anything.

It was quiet.

So quit that soon it started to feel comfortable.

After few minutes my body started to shake in fear as I painful scream filled the surrounding followed by some muffled voices.

I started to scoot as far as I can away from the iron bar fearing that I'll be the next one to get tortured.

I closed my eyes and put my hands on my ears.

You're okay.

It's okay.

I started to murmur while crying and trying to console myself hoping that it was all a nightmare and soon I'll wake from it and my mother will be there to hug me as she used to.

After some time I slowly removed my hands and opened my eyes as I noticed that the screaming has stopped.

" You'll get used to it" a sob escaped my lips when I heard a hoarse voice say that.

" W....wh....who a...ar...are you?" I slowly asked as I turned my head towards the source of the voice.

" Just an old man my dear" he replied while coughing.

" Don't worry you won't be here long dear" he continued as I felt a pair of eyes staring at me.

I couldn't see him because of the darkness but somehow felt that he could see me very well.

" Wha...what do y..you me.." I tried to ask what did he mean by I won't be here long but before got interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming towards me.

" Hey look who's awake?" A voice taunted before another joined and laughed.

I kept my head low as I heard them both laughing at me.

" Do you think her mate will beg His highness and come to save her?" the guard asked his friend.

" I don't think so" the other guard replied.

" Well, we wish you best of luck in making it out here alive," the first guard said.

" Luck? She needs a miracle dude" the one scoffed before walking away.

Looks like my fate is sealed with death this time.

Maybe after that, I'll finally be able to get peace...

It’s not bad so far, actually intriguing but needs proofing—a lot & continuity adjusted. It’s distracting from fully immersing into the story.

Who was the voice? Was he in the cell with her or the cell next to her? Aurora wants death after all her pain. Love this book. Easy to follow, read through the errors with no problems.
