~ RESTAURANT~

Leonard got a call from Bella, and she requested to see him urgently. he agreed after she wouldn't stop calling him, he knew what the conversation would be about but he had to expect to have her bimbo friend approaching him in his restaurant.

"You!" Leonard didn't know what Bella was up to but he wasn't pleased. she was going home once he was done with her.

he signaled his guards who were lurking around to be at ease as Emily approached him but Emily didn't take note. Emily didn't want to do this but she kept reminding herself that it was for Bella and her happiness.

"Good day, may I sit down?" there was something about the way he looked at her, she didn't like it, she feared it.

"Sit."

"I am here on behalf of Bella,"

Emily said going straight to the point as she took her seat opposite Leonard.

"About what?"

"Being her cousin you should understand how she can be."

Cousin! Well, he guessed Bella was doing a good job keeping his identity a secret.

"How can she be?"

"She is a free spirit and..."

"Miss..." Leonard stared into her broom eyes and Emily caught sight of his hazel eyes, she had not taken note of it earlier when she had met him, but she was mesmerized by it.

"Miss..." Leonard repeated.

"Bella, I mean Emily, just Emily is fine." Emily stuttered.

"Emily, what exactly do you want from me?"

"Please don't let Bella go home."

"As a friend, ain't you supposed to wish for her to go home, you don't seem like a friend, if that is your request."

"I just feel...."

"You feel what?" Leonard interrupted. "That she should continue to sell drugs and tarnish the name of her family."

Drugs!

Was Bella doing drugs again?

Bella had told her about her experience with drugs and how she was addicted to it but Emily hadn't noticed anything like drugs of late.

Well she was too busy with work she barely had time alone with Bella, and during her off days, they spent it together.

Emily's father was a drug addict and an alcoholic, she knew how people like that were, her father was always aggressive and when he was high he would beat her mother and sometimes them up.

Even thou her mother tried to live like everything was fine, things weren't really fine with them.

Emily didn't realize she wasn't paying attention to anything Leonard was saying and he also took note of it.

"Excuse me," Emily stood up and staggered back.

"Seat down," Leonard ordered and Emily obliged and sat down immediately.

"Here." Leonard pushed the glass of water on the table close to her, Emily took the glass and drank all the water.

"When will they be coming to pick her up?"

"You came here to convince me so why are you suddenly agreeing with me."

"If she is truly using these drugs then she will need help, I will take my leave now," Emily said and walked out of the restaurant.

Leonard stared at her wondering what was up with her, did he say something that got to her?

Emily took a cab straight to Bella’s apartment from the restaurant, she needed to have a serious conversation with Bella regarding her selling drugs and if she was using them, when she got to the apartment she noticed the door was locked from the inside.

She wanted to knock but before she could the door opened and Matthew stared at her.

“Emily,” Matthew said staring at her. “I was waiting for you.”

“Where is Bella?” Emily asked looking over his shoulder, she could see Bella looking outside the window and on a phone call, and she seemed pissed off. Emily looked back at Matthew.

“Is she alright?”

“Yes, she is on the phone with her mother. Can we talk outside briefly, please?”

Her mother! Did Leonard call her mother to inform her? Emily was mad at Bella but she was also worried that her parents might not be pleased to hear what she had been up to.

“Okay,” Emily nodded as Matthew and she walked out of the apartment.

“Is everything okay?” Emily asked as they stepped outside.

“You set me up with Bella,” Matthew said.

“I didn’t mean to offend you but Bella expressed how she felt and I thought it was only right that you both discuss about it.”

“I feel really offended Emily, I don’t feel anything for Bella. I love you.”

“Love?” Emily was taken aback by his words and his declaration of love for her, was that how love worked?

“I love you,” Matthew repeated and grabbed Emily by the arm pulling her in for a kiss.

“What are you doing?” Emily asked pushing him off but Matthew felt irritated by it. Was she rejecting him? No one rejected him. He grabbed her again and forcefully tried to kiss her.

“Let go of her.” Emily heard when Matthew had pinned her to the wall. Emily and Matthew turned around to stare at where the voice came from.

“Leonard,” Emily called out she remembered his name when Mark had spoken to him but what was he doing here?

“SCRAM!” Matthew yelled at Leonard still not letting go of Emily. Leonard stared at him with both hands in his pocket, after his discussion with Emily he had trailed her just to know what she was up to. She seemed out of place during their discussion and he wondered if it had anything to do with Bella.

“Jack,” Leonard called out as the man in black beside him whom Emily and Matthew didn’t notice walked up to Matthew, pulled him by the hair, and pushed him off.

“Let me go,” Matthew shouted trying to push off Jack but he wasn’t strong enough.

“Thank you,” Emily appreciated although she had plans to kick Matthew in the balls she was grateful that Leonard was here, just in case her plans backfired. She watched Jack pull Matthew into their car.

“Go inside,” Leonard commanded he didn’t want her to see Matthew by the time he came out of the car. Emily nodded at him understanding the situation and went inside.
