Not who I think it is.

"I will get it, who is it?" Nancy inquired as she approached the front door.

Nia then entered the kitchen to check on the food; it was already done, so she served it and placed it on the dining table.

"Kids, come get it." She called, their small feet stumped hard on the ground as they ran to the dining room, laughing with excitement accompanying their race.

"Yay!!! Pasta." Mira rejoiced, her adorable face bringing a smile to her mother's lips, it was so heartwarming.

"A strange man is here to see you, Nia." Nancy yells from the sitting room, Nia then leaves the children to attend to the visitor.

As she entered the sitting room, she was surprised to see a young man in his late twenties with three robust male figures, all dressed in black suits with dark shades pasted on their faces, except the young man.

He stood elegantly in his expensive blue suit, his sky blue eyes encircled the entire living room with both his hands behind him, his aura was very gentle, but he appeared to be a little lost.

"Good day." Nia greeted, slightly perplexed; the man appeared to be very important; what would he be looking for in her home? Is he missing?

"Good day, ma'am, my name is Collins, and I am a representative from Cage Enterprise." He said with a delightful smile on his face, the young man offered his palms to Nia for a handshake.

Nia accepted his handshake, but she was more surprised; Cage Enterprise was one of the country's largest corporations, worth trillions of dollars; what could their representative be looking for in her home?

"Welcome, how may I assist you?" Nia said.

"Oh!! First and foremost, I apologize for the unexpected visit; I was supposed to call ahead of time, but the network here is not particularly friendly." He explained.

"I am sorry about that; please have a seat, Nancy, could you please assist our guest with some water?" She could not keep such a significant visitor standing.

The gentleman took the seat beside him.

"Do not worry about the water, Ms.Nia; I will be leaving soon; I just came to discuss business with you."

Nia fought the urge to raise her brows; the sound of business sent shivers up her spine; she was willing to do anything to make money at this point.

"All right, then, I am listening." She said as she took a seat almost next to the man, becoming more engaged in the conversation.

Nancy sat at the opposite end of the room, her face flushed with curiosity.

It is unusual for such a handsome young man to come into their home and want to discuss business; what business could he possibly want to discuss? Nancy, on the other hand, was more intrigued by the gentleman, she had just met a prince charming.

"Our company needed an interior designer, so we posted job openings online. We recently went through the applications and found yours as number one on our list, we checked your works and there were the best we had ever seen, we tried reaching out to you for an interview but we couldn't, so I was sent to come deliver the contract to you on my own."

"Our CEO is very impressed with your work, and that is extremely difficult to accomplish; he hopes to meet you first thing tomorrow morning." He said, as he wiggled his fingers, a man approached him carrying a briefcase.

Nia could not control herself, but she kept her cool so she did not appear desperate in front of the young man.

The man was correct; Nia had applied for the contract about two weeks before, but she did not put too much hope in it because it was a really big company, and a lot of people had also applied for it, so she was not sure she would even get their attention.

She looked at Nancy, who smiled, finally the drought was over, what could possibly prevent Nia from taking advantage of this opportunity?

"Good day, sire." Stanley greeted, what was he up to? no one noticed when the little man walked into the living room; he was so small that he went unnoticed.

"Would you mind telling us who you are?" He went on, folding his hands behind him and lowering his adorable brown eyes to Collins. It was clear from his expression that he was not at ease with the young man.

"You showed up at our door uninvited." Mira responded. She was here as well?

"My name is Mr. Collins, and I apologize for intruding. And who are you two cuties?" Collins expressed his surprise at their audacity while smiling.

"I apologize for this ones, Mr. Collins." Nia apologized, but before she could finish or do anything to stop their mischief, Mira had already picked up the contract from the man's lap, removing it from the already opened brief case to show Nia.

"It says here that the service provider will be paid sixteen and one, two, three- six zeros," she paused before turning to Stanley. "What are the six zeros for?" She inquired.

"Well, I know three zeros is a lot of money, so six zeros will be a lot more money." Stanley's pupils dilated.

Nia took the papers from them right away, annoyed, but the moment she looked into those adorable eyes, her annoyance faded.

"I apologize for their behavior, sire; please have it." She handed the papers to the man.

"Well, ma'am, it is actually yours, these clever kids had almost said everything." He said with a smile, directed at the kids. He felt like patting them on the head at one point, but he kept his cool, he was here for serious business, not to play with kids.

"Our boss is offering sixteen million dollars for the contract to advance, as well as $50,000 per month if you agree to work for our company for six years." The man stated.

Nia was taken aback; why wouldn't she accept this offer? Nia would be a fool not to, her life is in shambles and she desperately needs the money; with $50,000 per month for six years, Nia would be able to take good care of those adorable little pumpkins.

"Ma'am, I will be leaving now," He rose from his seated position, and Nia followed suit.

"This briefcase contains everything you will need, including your plane ticket to Mexico; we will be waiting for you." He said calmly as he walked out of the house.

"Many thanks, Mr. Collins." Nancy followed him outside, What was she actually up to?

Nia turned around and saw those two little pumpkins behind her; she was annoyed by their behavior, but she could not stay annoyed at those brown kitty cat eyes.

"Now listen up, you were really bad today." She scolded, and they both kept a sad expression on their faces, sticking out the inner part of their down lips.

"We are sorry, mom, we were just pretending to be lawyers after watching a drama about a lawyer who was really cool." Stanley stated, but Mira still had a sad expression on her face.

"Well, you were the best lawyers today, but do not interfere like that again the next time mummy has a visitor, okay!!!" She said, cheering them up as she bent extending her arms to them as they walked into her embrace.

"Go to your rooms now, have a little rest, we might travel tonight," she said. "The last person in the room will not get to see the plane." She joked, and they both dashed into the room, hitting everything in their path.

Now that she was alone, she eagerly opened the briefcase to see what was inside.

She clicked open the briefcase, she was stunned, her eyes wide open to its contents, and she was so taken aback that she did not realize she had become subconscious, holding a slack jaw on her face.

**************

Nia arrived at Cage Enterprise's headquarters holding a gold card, which was one of the items in the briefcase. The briefcase also contained ten thousand dollars, which was given to her as a signing bonus for joining Cage Enterprise.

She immediately sent $5,000 to her mother's doctor so that her mother's treatment could begin.

Having this contract was one of the best things that had happened to her since she broke up with her boyfriend. She could now educate her children in good schools, show them the good life, start a business, and accomplish many of her goals.

The CEO was the only thing standing in her way of success.

She wondered how he was; this was her first official meeting with someone important, and she was nervous and afraid of squandering her one and only chance.

But the moment she remembered her children's smiles, she had confidence like no other, and she was ready to face anything that stood in her way of giving them a good life.

Nia stepped out of the elevator with assurance, a bright smile on her face, her white shirt and black office trousers making her look professional, she exuded a calm demeanor as she stepped into the room, the scent of her cinnamon perfume sophisticating the environment. The entire room was buzzing with activities, and the sounds of keyboards echoed through the air.

She then walked towards the CEO's secretary, who sat with a dead pan expression on her face, as if she was forced to work, as if the world's burdens were placed on her shoulders, but Nia did not really notice, she just walked towards her, she did not want anything to ruin her perfect day.

"Hello, I am here to see the CEO." Nia said with a charming smile on her face, her sky blue eyes twinkled, giving her a childish appearance, and her blonde hair was tied in a bun, giving her the best impression of professionalism.

The lady scrutinized her from head to toe.

"And who exactly are you?" She inquired.

"Hello, my name is Ms. Nia, and I would like to meet with the CEO." She said while pointing the gold card to the secretary.

The secretary then makes a phone call, which she drops after a few seconds.

"You may enter." She told Nia, who then walked nervously towards the office, with a whirlwind of thoughts clouding her mind. "Would he accept me? Oh, he already did, but will he like me? " But she kept reminding herself that she wanted to give her children a good life.

Nia then entered the office, the first thing her eyes saw was the CEO of cage enterprise, her mouth almost hung up for who she had just seen, sitting right in front of her, her heart began to thump really hard, fear gripped her so hard that she became dumbfounded.

'That is the father of my twins.' She pondered within herself.
