Chapter 8

Erica walked out through the door and Liam's life forever.

"Get your stupid self out of here and don't ever come back here crazy woman, boyfriends snatched!" The lady screamed.

Liam shut the door behind Erica.

More tears crawled out of her eyes.

She could feel her heart splitting into two as she stood motionless at the hallway.

Her heart was heavy and bleeding with sadness and regret.

Erica found it very difficult to comprehend all that had just happened to her just in one day.

She turned around, her legs were shaking.

Erica couldn't believe nor digest the fact that Liam who she believed was real with her have been playing her all these while and she never knew it.

"I trusted him too much and believed everything he said, I really need to wakeup from this nightmare" she mumbled tapping her cheeks which have turned puce.

She walked over to the elevator and got in.

Erica squat to the ground and burst into tears "why me....??"

She cried her heart out hitting her hands continously behind the elevator.

She could feel her face heating up so badly but does she really care? She was totally broken.

At this point Erica only thought about death, thoughts of committing suicide started creeping into her mind, she just wanted to die, she wanted to end her life  and all the pains she have lived with over the years.

"I have been hurt a lot of times by people I love and none of them ever seems to feel remorseful for what they have done" she muttered sobbing.

She nodded her head trying to console her self.

"Perhaps I am truly cursed" she thought aloud allowing her numerous tears find it's way down her jaw.

The elevator opened, she was finally down stairs.

All eyes were on me her, she was just squatting right there in the elevator with her face red as pepper.

People were standing in front of her, they needed to use the elevator.

She couldn't move, her legs seemed to have gone stiff.

The security guard walked up to the elevator at once staring surprisingly at her

"Are you okay ma'am?" He asked looking very worried.

She looked up at his face.

Tears clogged her eyes and she could barely see clearly.

"Can you please help me up?" She asked shaking.

He nodded "sure..."

He helped her up and led her out of the elevator.

All eyes seemed to her, it was totally obvious that she have been crying.

The concerned stares of people was the least of Erica's worries, she didn't seem to care neither did she try to hide the fact that she has been crying.

"What's the problem ma'am?" The security guard asked peering at her face.

She was speechless and cold as ice.

"What am I supposed to say to him?" She thought.

Erica felt it would be so shameless of her to tell the security guard what boyfriend have done to her.

She winced hitting her palm on her forehead "Like seriously? Am I still calling that asshole my boyfriend? I should give myself a bitter knock right now" she mumbled.

She twisted her mouth to the left wishing she never came to visit him, perhaps the breakup wouldn't hurt as much as it was hurting right now if he had just sent a break up text.

Seeing him kissing another woman when he knew she was in his house was the height of disrespect and she couldn't stop cursing herself for permitting him to fool her.

She scoffed in pain, wondering what wondering why how she built up the crazy mentality that she could still find true love after all that happened to her in the past.

It has always been from one heartbreak to another, she wished she had given up the on love the last time she had a heart break.

It was a tough period for her after her lady breakup, she almost jumped off the bridge because she was heartbroken, all thanks to the good Samaritans around who stopped her before she even jumped.

She crossed her hand on her chest with her eyes tightly shut wishing she had truly killed herself when she had the chance to do so.

Erica guessed that security guard noticed sge was lost cause she was yet to answer his question.

She had completely forgotten that he was still standing there.

He tapped her"ma'am are you sure you are okay?"

She was startled, turning to him with her bogging tears leaking constantly out of her eyes.

She wiped them at once staring at him.

"It's nothing, I am fine" she answered shurrging the security guard's hand off her as she walked faster than her legs could carry me.

She could feel her heart bleeding red blood, the pain was too much for her to bear alone.

Her whole body was shaking again, vibrating under the pain of the bruises that have left her heart bleeding loudly, yearning for peace.

She moved quickly to my car, her hand was on her mouth as she choked on her tears.

Erica entered into her car and shut the door.

Finally she was alone, she wanted to scream so loud and empty this heaviness that was killing her right in her chest.

Heavier than anything she have ever felt in a long time.

She could feel her emotions getting buried into anger and grief with each second that swept by.

She wanted everything to go away, she wanted to end this anguish consuming me.

Erica placed her hands on the steering and burst into tears whimpering nonstop like a child.

She shook her head in bitterness "no...no...why me? Why always me?"

"All I ever wanted was happiness,  was to love and be loved, all I desired was peace, why is all that too hard for me to get?" She said.

Her phone was ringing nonstop in her bag, she ignored it at first but on a second thought,  she wondered if it was Liam, perhaps he has realized his mistakes and wanted to apologize.

She quickly grabbed her phone out of her bag, her shoulders sagged with disappointment on seeing who the caller was.

She felt stupid  for thinking that Liam would have a change of heart and realize that she does not deserve any of that and she truly loved him.

She scoffed picking it.

"You aren't taking my calls..." Sarah yelled.

Erica was silent.

She was afraid of speaking, she didn't want her to know she was crying.

"Why are you silent Erica?" She cried out.

"Nothing..." she mumbled beneath her breath sniffing.

She sighed "are you still hanging out with me, I am at the bar."

Erica shook her head as if Sarah was present, she forgot she was talking to her over the phone.

"You are silent again!" Sarah yelled.

"Sarah I don't want to go anywhere, I just want to be left alone" she cried out.

Erica couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Oh! My God! Erica what happened to you?" She asked.

"Sarah I am heartbroken, my heart is splitting into two" she said hanging up before she said another word.

She hit the steering over and over again until her hands were hurting.

She could feel it's itchy pain burning her hands up.

She glared at my palms, it had turned so red.

She bit hard on her lower lip, more tears swept down to her jaw as she hit the steering one more time.

"Ouch!" She cried out holding up her palm with her other hand.

Maybe she could get this pain off her chest by transferring her aggression to the steering, it seemed to be the only way but unfortunately nothing was working.

She sniffled wiping the mucus bogging down her nostrils.

Her phone started ringing again.

She picked it up taking a deep breath.

"Tell me where you are Erica or I will call your father" Sarah threatened.

Erica shut her eyes.

She didn't want her to call her father so he doesn't get worried about her, he was too old for that and Sarah knew how much Erica hated it when her father gets involved in her affairs.

She was silent.

"Are you talking or not?" Sarah asked in a kind tone.

"I'm in front of Liam's house" Erica finally said.

"Fine! I'm coming with a cab, don't drive Erica, I will meet you there " she said hanging up.

"Thank you...." Erica mumbled.

She was so sure Sarah didn't hear it but she just said it after all.

Sarah have been more than a sister, always there when she needed her or don't need her despite her busy schedule as a banker.

Erica putted the key in the ignition but on a second thought, Sarah asked that she doesn't drive.

She gently placed her head on the steering sobbing her heart out.
