It was a week later and Cathy is doing some errands as usual. Her mother got ill, and she has been thinking about going full time with her job in the hotel. It was an unexpected event in the day when Andrew approached her. "Hi Catherine," "Hi, good morning, Andrew," she replied with a smile. "You have a visitor, he is waiting for you in the lobby." Cathy got confused since she wasn't expecting anybody, "Who is it? I'll drop by after work." She is known to be responsible, finishing her job before she goes off work, but Andrew insisted. "You can't, I mean, it's urgent. Can't wait." He noticed her confusion, and gave her a pat on the shoulder. "It's fine. Jeff will handle it." Jeff, the assistant supervisor for housekeeping is a kind man. He is around his 40s, and at his age he usually sees the young employees as his kids. Cathy drops the mop and goes to the headquarters to neat up, and went to the lobby with Andrew. There is a man, who was standing across the elevator, facing the north. "Sir," Andrew called him up. "She's here." The man turned around, and it was Jon. With his sapphire blue eyes and grey hair, he is wearing a plain white shirt, and a black suit on top of it, and faded blue jeans and white sneakers. "I'll leave you two," Andrew winked at her. "Hi," Jon said and walked towards her. "Hi sir," she bit her lower lip, "I mean, Jon. What brings you here?" Jon is holding an envelope, asked her to sit on one of the wooden chairs in the lobby. "Let's talk." He pulled out one chair for her, and as she was seated, he sat on one on the opposite side of the table. "Here," he handed over a black folder to her which contains documents. "I'd like to invite you to an event." It was a contract, consisting of four pages. "Wow," she looked at him with amusement. "You are hosting this?" "Well yeah," he smiled at her. "Keep on reading." Cathy looked down again, at the pages, and continued to read, as Jon continued to study her face. He looked at her beautiful eyes, and must admit that she looks beautiful without makeup. "I cannot believe I allowed you to stay in my place without anything in return." he says in his mind as he kept on looking at her. Her brows, her long eyelashes, the pointed nose and small eyes. He looks at her lips and bites his lower lip as if he wanted to kiss her. "I'm done." she said with a smile and looked at him. "Listen," he leans toward her. "I want you to help out in preparation of the opening of the club." Her eyebrows narrowed a bit in confusion. "I can't." she looks disappointed, "Apart from my housekeeping job here, I also work as a tutor." With his right hand, he extends his arm across the table and holds her left. "I know," he smiles, looking straight at her eyes. "You won't be required to work full time on weekdays." "Uhm, I am at home during weekends, with family." He can sense that she wants to reject the offer. Jon leaned back and replied, "You will be working four hours a day, but you'll get paid as if you've worked full-time." Cathy's eyes widened with surprise. "Are you serious?" He smiled and said, "Yes, that is to make sure that your talent will be well compensated." He fixed his eyes on hers this time, "No need to sign it now, the event will take place in six months. You have two weeks to think it over. The opening of the club will happen right after a fashion launch." Cathy tries to return the files, "It's yours," Jon said with a smile. He ordered coffee for both of them, and chatted for a short while. "So, how's work going?" He was trying to start a friendly conversation." Cathy smiled at him, "Nothing different," she started to look around. "I'm just wondering," he was sipping coffee, "how did you ask them to take me off work? Ordinary clients can't do that." She was looking straight at him." He coughed and put the cup down. "Who are you, really?" He was trying to think of a reply, "I don't want her to find out" he thought to himself. "You own the top floor of a luxurious residential tower and you come here frequently. I've seen you many times dropping by." Jon manages to smile as he organizes his thoughts. "I used to work here. I am a marketing manager and I organize events like the one I invited you to." Cathy raised her left eyebrow a bit as if she is doubtful of his statement. "Catie," he leans toward her, his face getting closer to hers. "I was one of the organizers of the opening ceremony of this hotel." "That was when I first saw you?" she almost believed him. "Yes,.." "Catherine!" A young man was rushing towards them, he is in his early twenties, blonde and tall, at around six feet four inches. "Hey," Cathy turned and said to him. "This is," she wanted to introduce the two men to each other. "Vivian is calling," Alex quickly said to her, and there is a sense of urgency in his voice. "Oh, I need to go." she said to Jon as she got up from her seat. "I'm sorry," she added. "It's all right," he smiled at them, "I'll go, and you take care of Catie for me, okay?" he spoke to Alex. "My pleasure, sir." he politely replied to him. The two went on their way as Jon was left alone, looking at Cathy until she was out of sight.

"I lost so many pieces, the door wasn't broken, so I've asked your folks to check the security cameras for me." she touched her forehead with her palm. "I apologize," said Jon who was really apologetic of what had happened in his territory. "Will surely take care of this, Viv. I never wanted to disappoint you." "Well apart from the fact that this is quite disappointing," Vivian told him "The guests' safety should always be prioritized, Jon." "Yeah, I know" Jon shook his head, he is aware of being at fault this time. "I'll go ahead, make sure this will be fixed. We've alerted the police, raised heightened security.." she cut him off "I understand, see you later." she kissed him on the cheek and closed her door afterwards. Jon left the area with the two guards who were taking down notes the whole time. After she had closed the door, Vivian went to her most favourite part of the suite, the bedroom. She reached for the bottom drawer and took out a box of oats. "Hello, my ba
It was the most awaited day of the month, the launch of the fashion brand at The Lavish. Alex and Cathy reached the twelfth floor, they were welcomed by a lady named Nadia. In her 40s, Nadia is the brand manager of the luxury products whose launch will be happening today."Hi there," Alex gave Nadia a firm handshake, and then proceeded to an introduction. "This is Catherine over here," "Hello," Nadia greeted with a sweet smile. "Hi Nadia, I'm Catherine, on duty" and the ladies gave an exchange of smiles. Alex continued, "She will be in charge of the launch, so if there is anything you may need in relation to this event, please reach out to her." pointing to Cathy. "Will sure do, thanks Alex." Nadia said in reply. "So, Cathy, shall we go to work?" "Yes," Cathy replied in a confident manner. But just before she walked away into the backstage, Alex grabbed h
It was so quiet since they left the hotel, and Jon was trying to think of a way to break the ice. "How was it?" "The launch? Oh yeah, of course." Cathy was obviously nervous as she held her round bag which she has placed on top of her thighs. "It was great! The team was so helpful, and positive. Everyone did their job well," she was still speaking when he interrupted. "Are you trying to hide or cover anything?" He had noticed that she had covered her thighs with her bag. The bag was a rose colored shoulder bag which was round and made of rattan. It is originally brown, but there were crocheted pieces around it that made it look in a shade of rose. Cathy was wearing a pink one, it did not have sleeves but she opted to wear a white jacket which is down to about two inches below her butt. "No," she quickly said in reply. "I thought you're trying to cover your legs," he said jokingly. He continues to drive while Cathy seems to be offended. She raised an eyebrow, and said "I don't have t
As Stephanie handed over a drink to Jon, his phone suddenly rang. "Hey, Viv," Stephanie knew it was a lady who called up, so she whispered on Jon's left ear. "Work is over, it's time to celebrate" he looked at her but continued to speak to Vivian on the other line. "Have you got some news?" he took a few steps as she answered, "I've spoken with some of your security personnel, but they did advise that there are several things to look into," she was about to laugh when she said this, holding her jewelry box which is now empty. "No worries, Viv. I'll make sure this gets handled for you. I am so sorry," Jon was sincerely apologetic, but Vivian smiled with a fierce look in her eyes. "I am worried, if they took my jewelry, it will be fine. Just that they took the necklace you gave me." she touched her neck and the necklace that she is wearing. It was gold, with a heart shaped pendant. Jon gave it to Vivian on her nineteenth birthday, along with a huge teddy bear which he bought in Milan,
Hours have passed and the team had a great night. It was already past four in the morning, and the club's administrator has already advised that they will be closing at five. Stephanie and her ladies already have left, heading towards the hotel where they are about to stay for another day. "You okay?" Jon asked Cathy. She nods at him and smiles. "I'll take you home", Alex said to her but Jon interrupted the two. "I shall take you both home" "But sir," Alex knows there is a shuttle service waiting outside to pick them up from the club, and drop them off at the hotel. "We'll take a cab home from the hotel," said Cathy. "We shall be alright." "No, I insist." Jon looked at Alex, who waved goodbye to the two. "See you on the work day, Cathy, Sir." "I'll make sure she gets home safe," Jon said and headed on to his car with Cathy. Alex went on to the bus, along with the other hotel staff who happened to be assigned in the same event. As the sun rises in the city,
In the midst of her thoughts, she felt an arm wrapped around her shoulder. "She's going to be fine." It was Jon, his eyes had turned red with tears which he tried to keep from falling,he stretched his right arm to her right shoulder and held her left hand with his. He almost hugged her, making her feel secure. She lifted her head and looked at him to her left, their eyes met and Jon removed his right hand from her right shoulder, using it to wipe the tears that fell from her eyes. "I do not know sir," she said softly, trying to pull back the tears. Jon replied in an instant, "How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me sir when we're not at work?" He was trying to make the mood a bit lighter, while keeping his calm. Cathy finally managed to smile, and as she did, a doctor meets them. Jon removed his hands from her, facing the doctor who just came out from the emergency room. Cathy stood up, " How is she?" she asked. "Jennifer had suffered some head injuries, she ha
It was such a mess to be waking up with the front door open. Luke Martin woke up from the sofa in the living area, and he did not notice that he had left the door open when he got in. He walked to the door and closed it, then got back to the sofa. Sitting down, he searched for his mobile phone which he found in the left front pocket of his black leather pants. He quickly got up, walked to the door and closed it. He went back to the sofa and sat, checking his phone for notifications. "She has been trying to reach me for hours," he said as he dialled back the number, a shout came from the other line. "What the hell is going on?" The woman shouted at Luke, and as he felt the sound of her voice he immediately lifted his arm, moving the phone away from his face. After he placed it back, Luke calmly apologized. "I'm sorry Vivian, I was trying to.." she cut him off, "Trying to what, Luke? You shouldn’t have attacked her.. What if you got caught?" He laughed a bit, "but I didn't. And
