KAI-VII
Utter surprise replaced the icy mask Seven had been wearing just a few moments ago. He stared at me without blinking as his muscular body trembled.
Is that fear I sense? Seven Greywolf, the supposedly strong Alpha of Blood Crest Pack was afraid of me? Astonishing!
A big smile stretched my lips. I leaned forward even more just to take in every ounce of his fear. As if he realized that he was wearing his heart on his sleeves, Seven pulled a frown and widened his eyes menacingly.
"What the fuck are you on? This is some obsessive bullshit!
You are not me! And you'll never be. You are just a cheap knock-off from Moon Goddess knows where. I'll tear you to shreds!"
My smile faded a little. A second later, I scoffed, "You are funny, Seven. Somehow, you seem to think your silly threats will work on me."
"Ha-ha-ha!" I threw my head back and laughed.
Seven took the opportunity to take a swipe at me. However, I caught his hand in the air. My fingers tightened around his wrist, squeezing every muscle.
A flash of pain appeared on Seven's face. But he soon tightened his jaw and arched his eyebrows. With a snarl, he shook off my hand and kicked me to the ground.
He jumped to his feet the next second and I did the same. Holding his jaw, he twisted his neck and shot me a searing glare.
"Who sent you?"
This question made me chuckle. He must think I was one of his subjects whom he could command to give him answers. What an arrogant fool!
"Do you want to die? If you don't, surrender and tell me who the fuck sent you!"
"Oh, I am so scared, Alpha Seven. Have mercy on me," I said mockingly with my hands cupped over my chest.
In response, the arch of Seven's eyebrows deepened. I smirked and added, "Easy with the threats because only one of us will be dying tonight. And it's definitely not me!"
Seven smiled and tut-tutted, but that doesn't unnerve me at all. I have been trained for this for many years. No matter how strong he is, tonight was the day he would breathe his last!
"I don't know what you heard about me, but I'll break your bones," Seven snarled.
I watched as Seven rolled up his sleeves. Afterward, he raised his chin and beckoned at me with two fingers. I scoffed. Did this idiot really think I was going to sweat it by exchanging blows with him?
Humoring him, I rolled up my sleeves too and raised my fists as if I was ready to fight. Seven waited for me to throw the first punch, and when I didn't, he lunged at me.
In a trice, I whipped out the gun in my jacket and pulled the trigger. A muffled sound shredded the quiet night.
Seven's feet dragged backward in the gravel. Thereafter, he stopped dead in his tracks. Blood spluttered from his mouth. The look of horror in his eyes intensified. He sure didn't see that coming.
"Ha-ha-ha!" I laughed out loud, my finger still on the trigger.
"You know, he told me that you were wise. I guess he was wrong about you, fool!"
"Who sent you? Who sent you?" he growled through bloodied teeth.
At this moment, I noticed that his fingernails were becoming longer and longer. His jaw was taut. The veins in his arms were protruding too. I saw something deadly flicker in his eyes.
Stubborn bastard!
Dopamine rushed inside me as I watched blood spread from the chest area of his robe. Although one bullet wasn't going to take him down, I had come prepared.
More bullets to the rescue!
"How do you like that, Alpha Seven?" I teased.
Seven coughed out blood again. "Fuck you!"
"Aww! I wish I could, but I am not gay. In fact, once I get rid of you, I intend to have so much fun with your beloved, Winter Sharp."
Seven went nuts. "Don't you dare touch her! Don't you dare!"
"Who's gonna stop me? You? But you would be dead... He-he!"
Yeah, I was enjoying this. Enjoying it more than I imagined I would. What better way to break a man than threatening to fuck his girl? At this rate, Seven would die of a heart attack before I riddle his body with these sweet little bullets!
"I'm gonna kill you!" he roared.
I shook my head. "Not going to happen."
With that, I pulled the trigger again, sending a bullet into Seven's skull. He groaned and held his head while staggering backward. Blood gushed out like a small waterfall.
It was then my eyes fell on the ring on his left middle finger. The black gemstone on it glowed red and yellow. My pupils dilated.
That was it!
I had thought I would spend some time looking for that ring, but it turns out Seven wore it everywhere he went.
With my eyes on the prize, I moved closer to Seven. The gun was pointed at his right chest now. He was still standing. However, I had no fear that he would be able to attack me now.
The wolfsbane-laced silver bullets were doing the trick. I pulled the trigger once again. A bullet instantly pierced Seven's chest.
Seven immediately stiffened. Pain, surprise, and more pain widened his eyes. He clutched his chest again as blood oozed out of it. I immediately seized the opportunity to pull the ring off his finger.
Finally! I roared jubilantly in my mind.
"You won't get away with this," he said, his lips bloodied.
I guffawed and then shrugged. "I guess I'll see you in hell then."
Without thinking, I spun the gun with my finger and then put two more bullets into his chest. He staggered back again. Only this time, he doesn't stop.
A rock shifted under his foot at the edge of the cliff. In the blink of an eye, he was plummeting downwards. I watched as he went through many stages of horror in that brief second.
"Aaaah!" Seven screamed with his arms open. He flew in the cold air. Soon, his body plopped into the body of water way down. I took out a small flashed light and looked down.
A smile twitched my lips when I saw the new hue the water had taken. There was a rock in Seven's shoulder now.
No way he's gonna survive that!
I walked away from the edge of the cliff. After staring at the strange ring for a while, I threw it in the air and caught it. Excitement swelled inside me. "I had better get this to Ratio now. He would be so proud of me!"
I practically sprinted back to the palatial mansion. Unexpectedly, I bumped into someone as soon as I walked in through the back door.
"Hey, bro!" a young man called out cheerfully.
Before I could make out who he was, he put his arm over my shoulder and uttered excitedly, "Let's get fucked up tonight!"
A picture registered in my head as I tucked the ring in my pocket. This must be Robert Greywolf, Seven's stepbrother.
"Rob, I don't think I can hang out with you tonight," I said, playing it safe.
"Who said anything about you hanging out with me? I want to have fun too. You should do the same. There are many girls at the club who would kill to make your night special."
His eyebrows crinkled. "What's up with the cold feet? Mom told me that you already agreed. Besides, you are dressed already."
I looked down at the shirt, jacket, and pants I was wearing. All black.
Nora must have told Robert that Seven wasn't dressed up yet. If I continued to say no, he would most likely smell something fishy.
No, I can't fuck this up. Not when I am this close to doing Ratio proud.
"Fine! Let's go," I agreed. "But, give me a minute. I need to get something upstairs."
I ran upstairs as soon as Robert allowed me to. After wandering down the hall of the second floor, I was able to locate the monitoring room. There was no one inside at this time as expected.
In no time, I deleted all the CCTV footage from today. There were no cameras by the waterfall, but there were some by the back door of the house. I was in the footage, but that's history now.
Minutes later, Robert pulled me into a club that was alive. The music was loud as hell. Many clubbers were dancing, drinking, and getting nasty everywhere I looked.
This was my first time at a club. I had never even been around this many people. Worry clouded my mind. What if Ratio gets mad at me for coming here?
From what I was told, Robert was a party animal, unlike his stepbrother. He spent most of his days clubbing and banging girls. There was no telling what he would make me do here tonight.
Robert pulled me to a VIP lounge. He said hi to many half-naked women who threw themselves at us on the way. Once we got seated, a bunch of girls came over in their heels. They jiggled their breasts, twisted their waists, and winked coquettishly as if to say, "Pick me!"
And that's what Robert did. He picked a couple of girls and made them sit with me. Before I could say anything, he had disappeared with the excuse of getting drinks.
One of them placed her hand on my crotch. She twisted like an earthworm as she rubbed her bosom against my arm. What a slut!
Although I attempted to shift away a couple of times, the whores wouldn't let me be. I decided to ignore them in the end.
My eyes soon wandered away. The clubbers were going even wilder now. Suddenly, I felt a harsh gaze on me. I looked around, only to catch sight of someone.
It was a slim-thick and average-height young she-wolf. She was dressed in black leather pants that seemed so tight and had full make-up on. In the midst of everyone, she stood out because of her looks. More so because she was glaring at me from across the room.
Her eyes were smoky and her eyebrows were furrowed. The glass in her hand shook, spilling a little of her drink.
I looked away a few times, but I could still feel her heated gaze on me. I had just looked at her again when I noticed that she was now heading towards me.
Matching. She was actually matching towards me.
The frown on her face cracked her makeup. Before I could blink, she huffed and splashed her drink on my face.
What the fuck!
WINTER When Nico said she had an idea, I thought she wanted to help me take revenge on Seven for what he did to me.The last thing I expected to happen was for her to drag me to this club. I had tried to turn around and head back home, but Nico somehow bought Melanie over and they both insisted that I needed to do something to get my mind off Seven.Never did it cross my mind that I would bump into Seven here. Seven always loved his peace and quiet. He never went partying. The closest things he did to partying were having dinner with his stepmother and stepbrother every weekend, and also having a few game nights with me.I had lost count of how many times I tried to make him more outgoing. His aversion to crowds began after that tragic incident. This was one of the reasons why I even cut him some slack when he said he couldn't attend my 18th birthday party. I finally gave up trying to make him open up more because I loved him. Social or not. I just wanted to be with him.But here h
KAI-VII The episode at the club the other night had surprised me a lot. From what I learned about Winter, she was a calm and sweet young woman. I didn't recognize her at first because she looked very different from all the pictures I had seen of her. And when she looked at me, she was fierce. At first, I was worried that she would notice I wasn't Seven. But seeing how she got mad that I was partying with girls and how she called me Seven, she didn't suspect a thing. I gave myself a pat on the back for doing such a good job. If I could fool Winter perfectly, I could fool anyone else. It was daybreak already. There were two important things I had to do today. First, I needed to dispose off Seven's body. Second, I had to get this ring to Ratio. I got out of bed and went into Seven's walk-in closet. "Whoa! Dude has got good taste!" I exclaimed, seeing all the luxury pieces of designers. In the first drawer I pulled out, there were a series of wristwatches. Ratio told me Seven wa
KAI-VIIThis couldn't be. My eyes were deceiving me, weren't they? Where was Seven's body? I clearly saw it get hooked by a rock yesterday.I rubbed my eyes and looked again. There was still nothing on the rock. Nothing as I even looked around one more time. I tripped, and my right foot got caught between two stones. Without caring, I pulled the foot up and staggered towards the waterfall. The image of Seven plunging downwards and getting stuck on this huge rock flashed in my head. I had seen it with my own two eyes. What in the world happened to Seven's body? On the rock, there wasn't even a trace of blood. Why is that?Water splashed on me, wetting my clothes. But I stood still and sniffed the air. I smelled a metallic scent. And that was it.The scent must be from Seven's blood. I killed him last night. Yes, I did. It was impossible for me to wrap my head around why his body wasn't here, but the smell of blood proved that I hadn't been imagining things yesterday. In a fit of pani
WINTER"New York City, please be nice!" I said to myself as I loaded my last suitcase into the trunk of my new car.The girls walked out of the building with gloomy expressions on their faces. In fact, Melanie was crying. She wiped her tears before walking up to me, but her eyelashes were still wet."Oh, Mel," I whispered, pulling her into a hug. For the umpteenth time since I decided to accept admission to NYU, I got cold feet. I expelled a heavy breath. "Maybe I should just stay back and take a gap year.""No, you would do no such thing," Nico disagreed with a tsk. "We don't want to part from you. But going to New York would give you a much-needed break from that dickhead.Nico sighed deeply. She joined in and kissed me on the cheek. "Besides, we could always hang out during the holidays. We will get through this, Win.""You sure?""A hundred percent!" Nico nodded hard. "We are the three musketeers, remember? Best friends for life!"I winced a little as she squished me and Melanie.
WINTERIt happened so fast that there was no way I could have stopped it. Even if I tried, keeping it in my mouth would have made me sicker. The people around gasped as soon as the vomit hit the ground. Some of them retreated while looking at me in disgust. As I wiped my lips with the back of my hand, Eric came to my side and held my shoulders. "Are you okay?"I nodded even though I knew that I was far from being okay. My belly was still aching and my throat was irritable. He peered into my face and shook his head. "No, you are not. Let's get you to the clinic.""No!" I insisted. "It's just a stomach bug. I'll be fine once I take some water and rest."Eric's eyebrows drew together with skepticism. "A stomach bug? That's strange. Have you eaten anything weird lately?"I shook my head again.Although I had been having a hard time because I was regularly on junk food and no longer got any home-cooked meals, it wasn't that bad.Eric held his forehead, looking at me as if he was having an
KAI-VIIThe clock was ticking. Fast. I had to find the orb or whatever was removed from that gemstone before Ratio lost his patience with me.If I didn't find it soon, I am a goner.I didn't want to die. Not when I was just recently given another shot at life. I depended on Ratio for survival. My life wasn't mine. It was Ratio's.Seven must have transferred the energy into something similar to a ring. Maybe it was a necklace or even another ring.Fuck! I should have questioned him before killing him. I should have been more careful! I mean, why did it never occur to me that I wouldn't have been able to hurt a single hair on Seven's head if he had the real gemstone on him?I was stupid to have thought that Seven would carry something so important on him 24/7. If I had something so strong in my possession, I would have kept it safe.Something told me he had hidden it somewhere in this huge house. The strange feeling I got whenever I was in this mansion was unmatched. At first, I dismis
KAI-VIIThe boom reverberated throughout the room all so soon. Sparks flew from the spot. The sound of screeching metal pierced the air almost as a large cloud of smoke went off. Coughing, I waved off smoke from my face. The smoke made my eyes sting, but I fought back the tears as I walked through it. A section of my throat itched while I coughed hard. Covering my nose, I held my breath all in a bid to brave the polluted air.I looked down at the hole. The flooring that surrounded the hole was shattered. However, the steel box still looked as good as new. The only difference now was that there was a huge hole where the rotating lock used to be.My lips instantly curved up in a smile."Yes!" I punched the air in jubilation.I went on my knees, slipped two fingers through the hole, and pulled. The heavy metal cover gave way from the safe. Anticipation made my heart pound. I trashed the piece by the side and picked a flashlight to look into the dark safe.As soon as I turned on the flas
SEVEN"Dad! Dad! Where are you?"Debris of concrete and glass fell on my body as I was on all fours. There was a sharp sound in my ears. So loud that I could barely hear the words that were coming out of my mouth. There was smoke and dust everywhere. I couldn't see anything. My eyes were on fire. My body was on fire. Everything was on fire.It was as if my skin was peeling off my bones. The pain was like nothing I had ever felt. Even when I shifted for the first time, I was able to handle the excruciating pain. This particular one was hellish. I was in hell. The deepest parts of hell!"Aargh!" My roar echoed in my ears. It set off something I couldn't place my finger on. My fingernails sank into the dirt on the floor. I slowly came to my feet and looked around."No, this can't be!" I shook my head in denial. A party had been ongoing a few moments ago. What happened? What was that book I heard? How did my birthday party resort to this?"Dad!" I called out again, waving my hands in t
