Tasha's P. O. V I stomped out to the garden, ruffling my hair. My blood was boiling, and it was so hard to calm down. " I can't believe it!...." I muttered, puffing. " Calm down Tasha. Maybe Alex didn't mean it." Linda tried to say but I brushed her off. " What do you mean he didn't mean it? Of course he did. Didn't you see the way he looked at me? Like I was some idiot?" I said, glaring at her. Linda played with her hair, looking away. " Oh God..." I muttered, trailing off. This just gives me more reason to hate that Sylvia girl more. And I promise myself that I'll do everything I can to get back at her. Everything.... Sylvia's P. O. V Standing at the door of the Jones house, I took in a deep breath. I already told my mom about the babysitting job I got and so far she seemed cool with it. Let's see how today goes. Pressing on the doorbell, I waited for a reply. Soon the door opened and the maid I had met earlier appeared. " Hell
(Presentation day) Patrick's P. O. V " No....no...NO!" I yelled from my sleep, panting. Shit, i was having a nightmare. Thank God, it felt so real. Taking in deep breaths to calm my jittering nerves, I ran my hands through my hair. Why would I have a nightmare of Sylvia dying in my hands? We've barely even talked the entire last week? " Maybe it's just my subconscious playing games with me." I muttered, dismissing the thought. I didn't sleep well last night. I couldn't stop thinking about New Jersey. Maybe that's why I had the nightmare. Glancing at the wall clock, I realized I had woken up a bit early. Since I can't go to sleep, there's nothing else to do than to prepare for school.... Sylvia's P. O. V The alarm bell rang, and I groaned, turning to another corner of the bed. Clicking on the snooze button, I snuggled deeper into the sheets, trying to catch a few minutes of sleep. " Sylvia, how many times have you pressed that snooze button?"
Patrick's P. O. VAfter some time waiting for the school to be slightly empty, I was on my way out of school when I heard a faint knock. Looking behind me, I realised there was no one behind me. Not thinking too much about it, I headed my way. It came again, this time a little fainter. Curious, I called out. " Is someone there?" No reply. I looked at the doors in the hallway. They were all closed. Surely this school isn't haunted, is it? Waving the thought off, I made to leave again, but something stopped me dead in the tracks. The nightmare I had came this morning came flashing through and my heart skipped a bit. Oh God, it better not be true. I turned back and started searching all the rooms. They were all empty till I got to the Janitor's closet, which was locked. I tried pushing, but it wouldn't budge. " Hello, is someone there?" I asked, knocking loudly. But who would lock it? The school isn't completely closed yet. Not taking it anymore, I forced the door open
Tasha's P.O.V"What are you talking about?" I asked, still surprised by his question."You know perfectly well what I'm talking about. " He said, his eyes getting darker and stormier by the second.I fidgeted but didn't say anything. There's no way that I'm admitting I'm the one."Are you the one?" He asked again, this time his voice getting a bit higher. That immediately pissed me off, and I shot back at him "So what? What if I was the one who locked her up in the Janitor's closet? What are you supposed to do about it!?"Alex's mouth hanged open as he stared back at me, our chest heaving. Eventually, he narrowed his eyes and continued more discreetly."Do you know that Sylvia is claustrophobic? What if she died there?""That's none of my business! She should learn to stay in her place. I won't let her take what's mine." "And what's yours that she's taking?" "You!" I announced, then continued more calmly." She's trying to take you from me.""What?" Alex asked, dumbstruck."Why are
Alex's POVArriving at school, I immediately went in search of Sylvia. I wanted to apologise on Tasha's behalf. I went around her classes but didn't find her.Maybe she's not in school today, I reasoned. I guess. Have to try another way, I thought to myself. On my way to my class, however, I bumped into Tasha."Hey..." she called out, but I didn't reply."You're ignoring me again? I said I'm sorry. You didn't even pick my calls. ""Tasha, I'm not in the mood for all of this. Can you just let me go? ""Not until I hear that you've forgiven me. " She stated. I scoffed and walked out. I'm not ready to deal with her yet.***A few hours later. In schoolPatrick's POVI was on my way to my next class when I overheard Tasha and her friends. I normally wouldn't pay attention to them, but I stopped when I heard them mention something about Sylvia. I slowed down my steps but made sure I was within earshot."She should have stayed longer in that place, I wonder how she got out... " Tasha said t
Sylvia's P. O. V"Why?" Alex asked."I-I don't know..." I stuttered, surprised. Why wouldn't Patrick tell me that Alex sent an apology? Could it be what he wanted to tell me that he changed his mind about?"Maybe he forgot, " I suggested, shrugging."Could be the case." Alex agreed with a bop of the head.We talked for a few more moments till it was time for them to leave. I walked them out, waving goodbye to Hazel."Goodbye. And I'll visit tomorrow." I had told her. She squealed in happiness. How did she get to like me so much?Once they left, I walked inside to meet my mom at the end of the stairs, her hands crossed and her speculative glance at me."Didn't know you had so many 'male' friends." She said, raising her brows at me."Come on, mom..." I said scoffing. " They're not my friends. Patrick is the one who saved me and Alex is the brother to the girl I babysit. It's not as if we're that close." Yeah, no need to tell her that I have a lifelong crush on that elder brother of Haze
Sylvia's POV(Next day)After my mom confirmed it was all right for me to go back to school, I immediately hurried out. Even if I didn't like it that much, I'm glad to be away from the house for a couple of hours, not to mention the babysitting job I have this evening. Arriving at the school premises, I knew better than to expect warm welcome hugs and kisses. Why should I? I didn't have any friends. Not like I bother anyway, I headed up to my locker and began picking out my notes. On my way to my first class, I spotted Patrick in the hallway. Wanting to talk to him, I rushed towards him."Hey," I called out once I got to his side. He glanced at me and nodded."Hi." He muttered.Clearing my throat, I continued. " I wanted to thank you for visiting yesterday. No one has been kind enough to do that. ""You're welcome.""Plus, I wanted to ask. Did, by chance, Alex send you to me to offer me an apology on behalf of Tasha?"Patrick stopped walking and turned to me, surprise evident on his
Tasha's POVOverwhelmed with surprise, I made to tell on her. Why? Cause it sounded like the perfect thing to do because I'm looking for every possible way to her back at her. Raising my hands, I was just about to call the teacher when I felt a jab on my back. Soothing the spot, I turned to tongue-lash the culprit but froze immediately. It was Alex."And what do you think you're doing?" He whispered fiercely."N-nothing. " I began but changed my mind. " Didn't you see Sylvia? " I asked instead."No. Why?""She's sneaking out. I want to tell the teachers so she can be caught.""And how is that your business? I thought I told you to stay away from her. " Alex countered."What? So you're just going to let her go?""What she does is none of your business. Let her get caught by herself, you don't have to be the one to break the news. Besides, how are you so sure she's the one?" He asked, frowning.I opened my mouth but snapped it shut. I don't want to get into another argument with Alex.
