3. The Betrayal

It had been three years since Rose and Jon had gotten back together but the memories of Rose's past pain still hunt her, and the thought of their painful breakup still lingered in the back of her mind. As she sat at her desk, scrolling through her social media feeds, she saw a photo that brought back all the memories she had tried so hard to forget.

It was a picture of Jon with a girl named Vanessa, a girl that Rose had never met before. But the way that Jon was holding her, the way that he looked at her, made Rose's heart sink. She felt a pang of jealousy and hurt, and she knew that she had to confront Jon about it.

She picked up her phone and called him, her heart pounding in her chest. "Jon, we need to talk," she said firmly.

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and she could hear the hesitation in his voice. "Okay," he said finally. "What do you want to talk about?"

"I saw a photo of you with a girl named Vanessa," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Who is she?"

There was another pause, and Rose could feel the tension building. "She's just a friend," he said finally. "We've been hanging out a lot lately, but it's nothing serious."

Rose felt her stomach drop, and she knew that he was lying. She had a feeling that there was more to the story, but she didn't want to accuse him without proof.

"Okay," she said finally, trying to keep her voice calm. "I just wanted to make sure that nothing was going on between you two."

After they hung up, Rose couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She decided to do some digging, and she reached out to a mutual friend of theirs, a girl named Rachel.

"Hey, do you know anything about Jon and Vanessa?" she asked, trying to sound casual.

Rachel hesitated for a moment before finally answering. "Yeah, I've heard some things," she said slowly. "They've been seeing each other for a while now."

Rose felt her heart sink, and she could feel the tears starting to form in her eyes.

"Ahhhh" she screamed, clearly in pain.

She had suspected that something was going on, but hearing it confirmed was a painful blow.

She decided to confront Jon again, this time armed with the knowledge that she had gained. She picked up his phone and dial his number.

'Ring! Ring!!'

"Hello Rose" Jon said after picking up the call

"Who is Vanessa," she asked, going straight to the point.

"She's just a fir.."

"Don't tell me shit" Rose interrupted him, "you think I'm stupid?" She yelled.

"Ok, I love you seriously but I was only seduced by Vanessa and I'm sorry," He said, trying to reason with her.

"Get the fuck outta my phone asshole" she yelled and cut off the phone, crying out her eyes.

Rose felt the pain and betrayal wash over her, and she knew that she could never trust him again. She broke up with him that day, and it was one of the hardest things she had ever done.

Over the next few months, Rose tried to move on with her life, but the pain of the betrayal lingered. She had trusted Jon with her heart, and he had shattered it into a million pieces.

As she reflected on their relationship, she realized that there had been warning signs all along. Jon had always been a bit of a flirt, and he had a reputation for being a player. But she had ignored those warning signs, thinking that their love was strong enough to overcome any obstacles.

In the end, it was Jon's betrayal that ended their relationship, and Rose knew that she could never go back to him. It was a painful lesson, but one that she had learned the hard way. Trust was something that had to be earned, and she knew that she would never give her heart away so easily again. Can she love anyone again?

"He's but an asshole but I know what to do," Rose said with a cold expression.
