Perfect Together

In the otherwise quiet room, the sound of her heels smacking the floor caught his attention. Kevin was sitting on the divan, a cigarette in his hand. He pressed the bud to his mouth and sucked in, gray eyes fixed on her bare back before resting on her reflection in the full length mirror.

She was dressed in a red gown with a pleated square neck, a long side split, and backless— the only support came from a pair of thin straps that were meant to hold the dress from slipping down. Her hair was elegantly bunned. There was no makeup on her face except for a subtle shade of red that was smudged over her plump lips.
