The begining of hell

HIS DARK DESIRES

Chapter two

But there was no groom.

It wasn't a surprise to Lilly that he hadn't shown up.

The corners of her lips curved up into a smile, she wasn't laughing at him.

No, she was laughing at herself.

She very well knew he was making her the laughing stock of the city but she still showed up.

The once infamous daughter of William Smith now turned to a ridicule.

"Where's the groom?" Asked the priest in front of her but no words left her lips.

Her fingers dug into the piece of fabric, throat aching from trying resist the tears that threatened to form.

"Young lady..."  said the priest only to be interrupted when she spoke.

"He isn't coming"

She said for the priest to somewhat look surprised, a sigh leaving his lips as he shook his head at how pitiful the lady looked.

Lilly could hear their laughter echoing round the hall, although her gaze was stationed in front of her, she could feel their stares and their fingers pointing at her.

The mocking glint In their eyes.

Lilly was sure the news would be on the lips of everyone.

She would be the first ever bride to have a wedding without the groom being present.

Was her fate really that bad?

She couldn't help but ask herself.

"But how can a wedding hold on without a groom?" Asked the priest.

But the hall was silenced when a voice spoke.

"The wedding will hold on" A deep voice sounded when the doors were pulled open and shortly after, the loud footsteps were heard.

Loud enough to attract the attention of all those present.

Stepping in was a figure tall in height, dressed entirely in a black tuxedo.

His entrance was neither calm nor was it and resolute as behind him stood two body guards, their faces bold and terrifying.

This was enough to stir up questions in the minds of the people.

More questions popped up when he stood beside Lilly at the alter.

Lilly who stood with a bouquet in hand felt a presence beside her but didn't dare look for the aura emitting from him made her body shake.

"And who might you be?" Queried the priest with his brows furrowed together.

In the silence that reigned, everyone's ears perked up, curiosity filling them.

But that curiosity soon broke when he spoke.

"The groom" he answered for loud gasp to leave both Lilly's lips and the lips of everyone present.

It wasn't until he gave the answer did it Dawn on Lilly that the person next to her was none other than.... CESAR DONOVAN.

His mere answer made her knees grow weak with goosebumps forming on her skin.

Large sweat beads formed on her forehead and not able to control the rapid beating of her heart, she clutched on to the bouquet tightly as though wanting to squeeze the life out of it.

She had thought his absence was awful but now he was here, she didn't know how to feel.

Perhaps she wished he didn't actually come.

Sensing he was the groom, the priest didn't waste much time and began.

"Very well then, let's proceed"

Throughout the procession, Lilly's mind was unfocused, her teeth gnashing silently and only when her name was called, did she snap out of it.

"Miss Lilly" called this priest for her to lift her gaze.

"Do you take Mr Cesar Donavon as your lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health, till death do you apart?" He asked.

At his question, no words left Lilly's lips only Crystal tears formed in her eyes.

She didn't want this marriage but what could she do.

"I... I do" she uttered.

"Mr Cesar, Do you take Miss Lilly to be your lawfully wedded wife in sickness and in health, till death do you apart?" He asked.

When the words were thrown at Cesar, Lilly's heart skipped a beat.

She knew he hated her.

But surprisedly, when Lilly turned to look at him, there was a wide grin up his lips which enhanced his features but only Lilly knew what devil lurked behind his smile.

"With this I pronounce you husband and wife.

You may now kiss the bride"

Her veil was lifted and chin raised.

His cold fingers on her skin made her knees grow weak as her face was angled in a way, her glistening tears could be seen.

"Tears" he mumbled staring at her as though deriving pleasure on seeing her state.

Taking his eyes away from her eyes down to her lips where he rubbed his thumb across her cherry red lips.

His actions caught her off guard when he smashed his lips on hers.

His kiss was no where near gentle, more like domineering and demanding.

Lilly who ran out of oxygen could feel her body grow weak, her hands clutched the bouquet tightly.

It was only after he broke the kiss could she feel herself breath, her chest heaved heavily.

Shock still filled her facials at the realization that He... He had kissed her.

Before she could gather her thoughts, her chin was lifted once more to meet his dark eyes.

The wide grin disappearing completely from his face leaving an evil glint in her eyes.

The loud applaud from the crowds was heard.

Fear gripped Lilly as she stared at him, shortly after they had been pronounced husband and wife, he left without a trace.

In the end, pictures were taken with her name on the lips of everyone.

The camera men who stood by took pictures from all angles, a picture she was supposed to take with her family and husband was taken alone, just her.

After everything was over, with the guests dispersing one by one, Lilly was ushered in to the car by the driver.

"Right this way"brought he showed her to the car where she got in.

Silence reigned in the car blocking out all their hateful words and the clicking of the camera.

Her eyes looked out the window the entire time while on their way to her new home.

If she couldn't call it that.

"We have arrived" announced the driver stepping out the car turning over to pull the door open.

Gathering the gown in her hands, she got out the vehicle only to halt when the huge Mansion came into view.

A pang of pain hit her once more making her breathing hitch.

The mansion in front of her  used to be her home but now, it was no longer hers as everything was stripped off her.

Tears formed in the corner of her eyes but none fell and with a sigh she stepped in where she was ushered to a room.

Nothing looked the same any more, the servants were changed and the interior designs were also changed.

It didn't make her feel like home.

"Take her to the room" ordered the head maid Lucille for a young maid to step forward leaving Lilly to follow from behind.

The young maid's steps halted just by the door where Lilly was made to walk in halting at the desk where a mirror hung there and with a sad smile leaving her lips, her eyes darted to the mirror where she could see her lonely figure with tears glued to her eyes.

The day supposed to be her most happiest was the day her torment began.

Deep down she hoped all this would die down but it was just her wishful thinking.

"You look beautiful" said the maid diverting Lilly's gaze towards her.

First a stunned expression formulated across her facials then a small subtle smile carving up her lips.

"Thank you. You are the only one who said that to me.

You are the only one who talked to be throughout the entire day"

When Lilly heard herself say this, the smile on her lips lessened and after a little contemplation, she stepped forward.

"You must be new in town" stated Lilly to see the girl nod her head, her hands in front going to pinch each other.

She was indeed a young girl perhaps three years younger than her.

"My aunt works here so I'm also here to work" she replied and in that moment footsteps approached the room for Lucille the head maid to step in throwing a glare to the young maid.

"What were you told Lucinda?"

"I'm sorry ma'am" she bowed her head not daring to meet the gaze of Lucille.

"Leave us"

And with that command she was ushered out of the room with Lilly only getting a chance to know her name through the woman who just stepped in.

Lilly redirected her gaze to the piece of clothing that laid on the table in front of her.

No, it wasn't a dress but another way to downgrade her for it was a lingerie and in them was a transparent night gown.

All these were romantic gestures done on the wedding night.

But this wasn't a wedding, it was torture so there was no need to wear them.

Turning to glance at the room she was in, she took in it's appearance.

The room was well decorated room where petals of pink flowers were seen spread all over.

The scent of the incense from the candles was evident but was overpowered by the lovely aroma of the air freshener that filled the room.

What was the point of all this?

She asked.

They didn't love each other anymore perhaps it was just for formalities.

"Make yourself comfortable" said Lucille before leaving the room closing the door on her way out.

Now she was left alone leaving her thoughts all to herself.

There she waited, minutes passed and in time, hours passed but there was no sign of him.

Cesser hadn't appeared all this time even when the clock stroked twelve.

Tired from all the events as well as happenings of the day, she laid in bed with her wedding gown still clinging to her body.

Just when she thought she would wait for him, sleep over came her putting her to a sweet and peaceful dream.

In her dream, she dreamt of when things went back to the way they used to be.

They gathered themselves around the dinning table eating and talking away.

Then Cesar didn't hate her, he didn't ruin her family.

He didn't take everything from them.

He wasn't this cold and aloof man.

No, he was simply just a boy.

Her dream went on creating a genuine smile for the first time today to appear on her lips but quickly disappeared when a loud large bang was heard causing the door to fly open.

Immediately, she was jolted awake.

Rain poured outside the window and the sound of the rain hitting against the window was sharp and piercing.

With Lilly's eyes fluttering open, the first thing she saw was a pair of cold eyes looking straight at her.

They were dark with a hint of peach blossoms and the corners of the eyes were tinged with faint red filled with blood thirsty hate.

Realisation flashed through her mind that the person in front of her was Cesar.

Her eyes glanced round the room she was in to find herself not in the room she was placed in but rather a dark shabby looking room but before she could say a word to him, he raised the silver short barrel pistol in his hand which he held expertly.

The cold metal pressed against her skin making her heart skip multiple beats, cold sweat forming on her forehead.

"How dare you think that you can have a peaceful life after what you did.

You told them didn't you?

You told them to decorate the room for our consummation?!"

He raged, eyes red with rage as though piercing through her wanting to devour her.

"I... I didn't"

"You dare lie to me?"

"I'm saying the truth, I didn't tell them to decorate the room.

I was ushered in when I came here, you can ask them yourself"

she said but he wasn't hearing any of it and Instead he stepped forward, with a slap she was thrown to the ground.

Lilly could taste the metallic substance which dripped down the side of her mouth but she didn't cry.

She knew better this would happen when she decided to accept the marriage.

"Do you take me for a fool huh? I won't believe any word you say.

You make me sick. There's no difference between you and your father.

Who knows you could be a murderer just like him!" He yelled.

"He is not a murderer!" She yelled, tears forming in her eyes but her words only enraged him.

Her vision blurred for a moment after which she felt pressure around her neck as his hands went to grip her neck

tightening with each second that passed by.

Air eluded her lungs Making her eyes bulge out, her breathing unstable and ragged and even with her lips parted open to suck in air, nothing passed down her airway.

"Just like your father, you disgust me" he spoke with a sneer releasing her with such force her head went to hit the ground.

It hurts!

It hurts so much.

Lilly twisted her facials in pain as her mouth opened gasping for air, multiple coughs erupting up her throat.

Her body crawled away from him as she could finally feel herself breath.

"Still defending him?

You really disgust me.

I finally found my parents and reunited with them after so long only for your selfish father to take them away.

Why?

Just because he wants be to stay and be a money making machine for him"

The coldness emitting from him made shivers roll down her spine making her tremble.

That's the story everyone was made to believe.

That her father had despised Cesar's parents for threatening to take him away.

Yes there was a time they were in a huge crisis and because of Cesar's wits and power he helped them out.

And when he found his parents, they twisted the story to look like so.

"If my very presence disgust you, why did you marry me in the first place?" she asked with tears still stinging her eyes.

"To make you beg, to watch you plead for mercy. You are your father's daughter so it's only fair to make you pay for his crime.

You don't deserve a happy life.

Every deed have a price.

You should pay for killing the ones I loved and I'll make sure you pay dearly" he said with a smirk pulling up his lips as he could already imagine all sorts of punishment he could make her do.

With a glance at him, Lilly could see his murderous intent.

He wanted to kill her.

Would he do so?

She didn't wait to find out as she gathered her strength reaching for the door where she pulled it open running out.

But before she could go far, she could hear him sneer at her.

She could feel his gaze on her exiting figure.

"Running I see.

You should run it only makes it more interesting as it will add to your punishment"

Cold and ruthless were his words, as he walked out the room going in the direction she left.

The rain was still pouring heavily outside the walls of the mansion and Lilly didn't mind getting soaked.

She knew her attempt to run was futile but the instinct to survive just kicked in and she went with it.

She ran as though her life depended on it not daring to look back.

But just as she was about leaving through the entrance of the mansion, a Swizzling sound passed through her ears accompanied by a loud sound of gunshots that Peirced through the air going forward to hit a pillar.

"You can run but you can't hide.

You're only making things worse for yourself"

Came the daunting tone from behind her.

Seeing the hole created on the pillar next to her, time seemed to freeze as she thought about it being her.

Lilly couldn't help but think he was a lunatic!

If it had actually hit her would he care?

Would he send her to the hospital?

He probably would only to make her suffer all over again.

The sounds of footsteps sounded from behind her and she didn't need to be told that it was Cesar approaching her.

His steps were predatory and daunting as he inched towards her with a gun in hand leading Lilly to take a step back.

She wanted to keep running but her feet seemed to be frozen in place.

Finally, when she made up her mind to walk out the door, she was roughly pulled back to land on the marble floor.

"Running is futile. I'll make you pay" he said.

"You can do all those things to me but you can never break me" she retorted glaring at her once childhood sweetheart.

"We will see about that when I order the hospital to throw your mother out" he threatened making her gasp, her head shaking as she neared him.

"You promised! You promised you won't touch her.

You promised you won't hurt her" at this she cried, not able to contain her tears anymore.

It was because of her mother she had agreed to marry him.

Her mother was greatly sick and even though no one decided to help her, she had no other choice than to resort to asking Cesar for a favor.

A favor that would cost her greatly but she didn't mind.

He had asked to marry him in return to help her out of her predicament.

With no other choice, she accepted and here she was today, being his wife.

"What if I changed my mind huh?" He smiled going to seat down on the couch with legs spread apart as he relished in the terrible state she was in.

The tears trickling down her face excited him and he wished nothing more than to cause her great pain.

"Please don't. Please..." She pleaded bringing her hands to the front where she clasped them tightly together.

"I like it when you beg.

This is just the beginning" he said as he stepped forward.

"Lilly, you deserve to pay"

And just like he said, it was just the beginning of her torment.
