Zoey happened to catch the last sentence and felt somewhat curious.

Hardy wasn't one to meddle much; he exchanged a couple of jests with her and didn't spill the beans about Oprah's return.

Zoey wisely refrained from pressing further but secretly held a grudge against Hardy as she walked straight to Burgess.

"Burgess, Thanksgiving is coming up. Your parents want us to join them for dinner tonight."

The "parents" Zoey referred to were Burgess's father, Old Mr. Harrison, and Burgess's stepmother, who happened to be Oprah's biological mother.

No need to guess. It was another attempt to hurry them into marriage and having kids sooner.

Burgess didn't even look up. "Got it."

Zoey took a seat on the office couch.

"I have nothing to do today, so I'll wait for you here."
