Meanwhile, back at the villa, the tall blond-haired person was standing silently on the balcony. He was looking out at the city centre, to where Jennet was.
His face, however, was so sullen as he narrowed his eyes to where he was looking at. He gritted his teeth furiously, sulking on his feet. His hands were turned to balls of fist by his side. After a while, he looked away, grunting and then stared at the little figure who stood beside him.
"What are they talking about? Why is she so meek when he is around?" He asked, pointing out in the direction of the city.
The little figure was a little boy about the age of five to six years old and was about an adult's waist height. He had a pair of beautiful glassy dark blue eyes, chubby cheeks and short black hair. His face was cute but expressionless. He wore a light-green coloured robe.
The little boy looked at him and politely answered, "He was asking her out for lunch." His tone was soft but it was enough to make the blond turned nuts.
"Lunch?" His voice cracked from the depth of his throat. "She had just had breakfast. Why does she need to go out having lunch with another man while under my watch?!" He asked furiously. He was so jealous!
The little boy didn't even budge from his spot and, again, he just calmly answered him, "Well, breakfast and lunch are two different timing in this world. Human has to stuff themselves to stay energized, unlike us."
"But I didn't see her eating the day before." Sulky.
"She ate out with her friend." Cold.
Silence.
The blond man turned away again, staring at the city centre. He shook his head slowly. "I need her to be able to see me as soon as possible."
"Well, it can't be helped. You must be patient, Master. Furthermore, it was your fault for frightening her last night." He spoke.
He was there all along when his master tried to reward her with 'something nice' however, it turned into something scary instead. Everything was a mess!
The man immediately turned his face at the little boy.
His face darkened. "Tell me, Little Veen, how did I frighten her? I was merely showing her the memories of my real appearance but, I do not understand why she was so frightened and kept denying my existence even in her sleep." He said in dissatisfaction that reflected on his handsome face.
The little boy called Veen coughed softly in a polite manner. "Your appearance now is similar to those of what humans called a ghost. You have not fully recovered your body yet, so you cannot do anything. Just let her be for now."
The handsome man rolled his jade-blue eyes toward the little boy who infuriated him with his silence and calmness. For once, he had the urge to strangle the calm mannered little boy but he couldn't. He could not touch him even if he wanted to.
‘Why do kids have to be so pure?!’ He roared angrily in his mind.
Little Veen stared into the angry eyes of his master. "Master, please don't think of hurting me. You won't be able to do it." He spoke. He sounded so carefree as if he was making fun of his master's helpless situation.
"You just want me to sit idle and do nothing? So, what if I am a ghost?" His master asked in resentment.
"You're not in a stable condition yet." Replied Little Veen. "So, you're not powerful enough."
The man grunted as he ran his fingers in his head. “How can this be?!" He roared angrily.
Little Veen just watched him with his cute poker face that didn't show any hint of care.
"You're technically a ghost now. Nothing more. You don't even have a body, to begin with." He explained. ‘I thought you realised it from the day we've been tossed here’, his eyes said.
The handsome man looked away as he whined helplessly, "I miss my beautiful long golden hair."
Little Veen looked at his master. His master's appearance has changed a bit different than the first night. His short hair had grown longer and had reached his shoulder!
‘Well, that's good enough. There have been some improvements now in just two nights.’ The little boy thought.
"This body is too cold!" The man groaned before the boy. Then, added, "I can't even feel the running water anymore."
However, his mind was never clear from immaturity as he fantasize about Jennet, ‘But I can feel her warm, soft body and that's just amazing. Oh, that soft body of hers was like those fluffy pillows that I long for.’ He smiled alone.
"Master, do me a favour and only think about her when I am not around.” Little Veen said in a cold tone. He was listening to all of his dark desire as if he was listening to a radio that was broadcasted loudly.
The man ignored the little boy. "Just let it be. You will be a grown-up one day so you will learn it as well. Her body was so warm. Very warm!" He said, trying to anger the boy.
But, Little Veen wasn’t amused by his words. Instead, he asked with an aloof expression, "Then, should I sleep with her to prove everything you said just now?"
The man glared at him. "Don't you dare? She's mine!"
He walked towards the pool, staring at the surface of the water that showed no reflection. His heart sank over the realisation. He turned around, looking at the little boy again.
"I can't even see my handsome face now!" He complained. He was on the brink of tearing up. He was whining for sympathy just like a pampered puppy!
The little boy gazed at him. "Don't worry master. You are still handsome and that I can't deny though you've been reduced into this state." He said, comforting the man.
Little Veen coughed softly. "I come to deliver news about a few special privileges that have been granted to you." He said, changing the topic of their conversation. He doesn't have enough energy to keep comforting his master who had mood swings.
"Special privileges granted to me?" The handsome man spoke in annoyance. He turned around and grunted. His robe fluttered as he moved.
He looked up to the sky. "Why now? Are they planning to make fun of me again?" He raised his fist to the sky as if challenging someone up there.
But then, he turned around and sat on one of the chairs on the balcony with both elbows on the table while cupping his jaws with his hands.
"Do tell me of this special privilege, my dear Little Veen." He smiled with sparkling eyes. His attitude changed in a blink of an eye.
Unbelievable!
Little Veen stood rooted at the place he stands. He can't believe that he had pledged his loyalty to this kind of airhead master.
Little Veen coughed softly. "Only two privileges have been granted to you." He spoke.
His master stiffened. “What?!”
The blond shuddered, not sure if he was happy or mad because his expression was beyond interpretation. Meanwhile, his little assistant only nodded his little head.“You heard it as it is.” He said to his master. The master raised an eyebrow. "Only two? How about the rest? Why not all?” He groaned.“I know nothing about the reason, so, please don’t ask me further about it.” The little assistant said, dismissing him.“They are so stingy!" The master spoke. He mumbled alone not satisfied with what he heard."Should I go back to them?" The assistance asked calmly. “I probably need about a month to get the answer.”His master grunted. "Don’t waste my time. Just tell me of the privileges." He said and mumbled angrily.Little Veen ignored his unsatisfied mumbling as he explained about the privileges. "The first one is, you will only be able to retrieve your body if you spend more ti
It was noon when Jennet realised the time for a break had come long ago. As soon as she remembered it, she hurriedly arranged her messy desk. After that, she ran like a gazelle out of her company forgetting that she wore high heels. Two hours ago, she received a text message from Luca about the place of their meetings. However, she completely forgot to remind herself about the lunch plan. Although the restaurant was only a building away from their company, she was already late for fifteen minutes. Luca must have been waiting for her! As she stepped out of the lift, her phone rang. Luca’s name was on the screen. She gulped as she coughed softly before answering the call in a manner as calm as possible. “Hello, Mr Ty… I mean Luca. I’m on my way now.” She spoke while on the phone as she crossed the zebra crossing. Her mind was in jumbles. It wasn’t clear if she was terrified of the upcoming lunch plan or something else. Unaware of her surrounding, she bu
Jennet froze when she stood in front of a fancy restaurant as mentioned in Luca’s text message. There were well-groomed hosts in a black tux, looking formidable at the entrance of the restaurant. Although she had stayed in the country for years, this would be the first time she saw such a restaurant near her working place. She frowned. ‘It can’t be right,’ she agonized alone. This place is too luxurious for a lunch break. Did Mr Tybelg text her the wrong place? Whisking out her smartphone, she dialled Luca’s phone number. Less than a minute, her call was answered. "Yes, Jennet? Have you arrived?" Luca’s melodious voice greeted her ear. Jennet looked up to the name signage of the restaurant. Even the name was too fancy to be spelt out. ‘Forget that name!’ She thought. "Mr Ty…I mean, Luca, did you, perhaps text me the wrong place? I am currently standing in front of a luxurious restaurant. Is this the correct place because I can see there are h
Jennet arrived at her office and was gasping for air. She rushed to the restroom and splashed her face with water at the sink. Then, she looked at her wet face in the mirror. Her complexion was not looking so good. She exhaled and inhaled a few times. ‘Stay calm…’ She exhaled deeply. Everything that happened just now seemed like a bad dream. She shook her head, 'No, no, no! I don't want to have any relationship with anyone within the company. I just want to be all alone with no more trouble. I have suffered a lot and it is time for me to find my happiness.' She washed her face again before wiping her face with a handkerchief that she kept handy all the time. She was about to walk out when she bumped into Marvina who happened to walk into the restroom. "Jennet!" Marvina gasped, her eyes widen in shock. "You scared me!" She said, half yelling. She bent down with one hand on her chest, breathing heavily. "I'm sorry!" Jennet apologized and patted
For once in her life, Jennet had a peaceful working day because Mira was not around to humiliate her. Mira’s minions were also busy with their matters. It gave Jennet the blissful time she had been looking for and she even wrote down in her diary about the peaceful day. After work in the evening, she dropped Marvina at the apartment. Then, she drove home. Luckily, the road was not congested and she reached home around seven o’clock in the evening. While unlocking the front door, she looked around keenly because, for some unknown reason, she felt restless; as if someone followed her from work. But, there was no one around except for the silence that crept around.Inhaling and exhaling deeply, she entered the villa and immediately locked the door; double lock, at least. Ever since she lived alone, it has been the priority to lock the door because who knows who might make an unannounced visit. While changing footwear into house slippers, she swit
Jennet sat alone at the dining table with a cup of instant spicy noodles. She had been eating instant foods ever since she made up her mind to buy a house. As she instilled the unhealthy habit, it became a routine as time went by. It is hard to part from it now. Sometimes, she craved the taste of a proper homecooked meal. However, since she did not usually cook, she abandoned the thought. The same tall figure sat beside her with both hands cupping his cheeks on the table. He smiled as he watched her finishing the cup noodle. When she accidentally scalded her tongue, a scowl appeared on his handsome face and he glared at the cup, badgering the static thing for an answer.‘How dare you hurt my wife’s delicate tongue!’ he cursed at the cup noodle who was probably speechless for the blame if it was a living being. The blond shifted his adoring glance towards Jennet who took a cautious feed from the piping hot cup. Her cheeks reddened as she slurped
Kring!!Jennet jerked awake by the sound of the alarm clock. She stared at the ceiling mindlessly. After a while, she yawned. Then, from under the cover, she reached out for the clock and hit the snooze. After the sound died down, she laid still for a few minutes while scratching her head. “I was dreaming last night,” she reminded herself like a mindless woman. She yawned again like a lazy cat that was forcefully woken up in the morning. As she propelled her body into a seating position, she glanced at the bathroom. Flashes of memories from the event in the bathroom appeared in her head. She looked at herself; she was in her favourite pyjamas. She chuckled, relieving herself of the worry.“I was worried for nothing. Everything was a dream, a wild dream of a single woman who lives alone,” she said to herself. Instead of feeling sad, she smiled widely. She jumped off the bed, slid the glass door to the side and went to the bal
Jennet inhaled a deep breath as soon as the phone call ended. Luckily, Luca was an understanding person because she was being a jerk for forcing her boss to end the call. No one has ever done that to Luca before, probably.Marvina raised her head, "Who called? It sounds quite important." She spoke.Jennet looked at her. "It’s our big boss," she answered with a sigh."Mira?" Marvina guessed. No one other than Mira could make Jennet sigh so much."No, the other big boss," Jennet denied the guess.Marvina eyebrows knitted as she made another guess, "Mr Tybelg?"Jennet nodded and sighed again. She was unhappy when Marvina mentioned that name.Marvina asked another question, “What does he want? It is rare for him to call you."Jennet sighed deeply. Somehow, she was unwilling to tell Marvina about her lunch date with Luca. Yes, yesterday, she was eager to share the news with her but then after things that happened last ni
